This phenomenon which appeared in the sky (whether enhanced or not by the photographer) made me think of the beautiful and real aspects of our God’s personality. When you know Him personally and commune with His Holy Spirit daily, He will never cease to amaze you. No matter how many times He comforts me or lets me know what steps to take next, I never take it for granted. You might doubt my faith for that statement but what I am expressing is the pure joy and excitement of actually communicating with the Lord of the universe. It never gets old. In addition to His compassion and wisdom He has a sense of humor that leaves me laughing with Him just as I do with a close friend. I’ve experienced many such joyful moments with Him Eye of

butGodthemost recent still has me laughing. I was at a Bible study a few days ago and left my workbook at the home of the hosts. When I picked up my manual I mentioned to them that I had lost my reading glasses and if they found a stray pair they were probably mine. With big smiles on their faces, they said “we’ll pray that you find them” and then we discussed a few instances in both of our lives that this had actually happened. I continued to search for the rest of the day and the next. All over my desk, every nook and cranny in the house, in my bag that had carried all my stuff, in my purse, and in the car. Then I thought of a pair I had bought when I bought these that I had placed in a drawer. They weren’t there so my conclusion was that I had taken them in the car and they were lost under the seat somewhere. I just gave up and got another pair for my desk ( I have glasses all over the house). On the 2nd day I had just arisen for the day and was in the kitchen reading labels for sodium count etc. I had reached for a pair of glasses on the bar and when the phone rang, I hung them on my shirt. I was talking to my brother and I felt a little jerk of my shirt collar and then a little clang as something hit the counter in front of me. It was my missing glasses. In my confusion I reached to see if the glasses I had just placed there were still there and they were. I began laughing so audibly that my brother wanted to know what was going on. I had just put that shirt on so my friend the Holy Spirit made sure I found them and to make sure that I didn’t doubt what had just happened, I had another little surprise. That afternoon I got in the car and there were two pair of glasses neatly placed on my console, the pair that I had looked for in the drawer and another pair that were probably in the floorboard because they are always falling. There is no doubt they were placed there because the night before, I was in the car and desperately looking for something to read with and there was nothing there. I am still smiling about this. I love my Savior so much. If you don’t yet have that kind of relationship with God, you can. He loves you and is just waiting to be invited.

Psalm 139:16 (NIV) “Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

By addressing the above questions, you can get a clearer sense of when you might reach the point at which work is optional. But you’ll also need to consider other factors, too, such as how much you enjoy working or when your spouse or partner is planning to retire. In any case, the sooner you start planning for this next phase of your life, the better position you’ll be in when it’s time to make the transition.

• Am I saving and investing enough? As you chart your course toward your retirement journey, you’ll want to assess the sources of income you’ll have available. If you think you may be falling short of achieving your retirement goals, you may need to consider saving more.

Many people of retirement age have achieved this type of control. In fact, two-thirds of workers ages 65 and older say they work primarily because they want to, not because they have to, according to a 2021 study by Edward Jones and Age Wave. But that means that one-third of workers in this age group feel financially compelled to work. This doesn’t necessarily mean they dislike the work they do but it’s probably fair to say they would have liked the option of not working. How can you give yourself this choice?

8 Kid-and-Kaboodle.com > edwardjones.com/david-harris |Member SIPC Dreaming up the ideal retirement is your job. Helping you get there is ours. We’re excited to hear from you. David M Harris Financial Advisor 25404 U S 59 Suite 100 Porter, TX 77365 281-747-7048 david.harris@edwardjones.com This article was written by Edward Jones for use by your local Edward Jones Financial Advisor.

You can start by asking yourself these questions:

• What sort of retirement lifestyle do I want? When you retire, do you anticipate staying close to home and pursuing your hobbies, or do you hope to travel the world? Would you like to spend your time volunteering? Open your own business or do some consulting? Clearly, some of these choices will require more resources than others, so you’ll want to follow a financial strategy that aligns with the retirement lifestyle you intend to pursue.

• When do I want to retire? You’ll want to identify the age at which you wish to retire. You may change your mind later and move this date up or back, but it’s a good idea to have a target in mind. edwardjones.com Member SIPC When can you choose retirement?

• When should I start taking Social Security? You can begin collecting Social Security benefits as early as 62, but your monthly payments will be much bigger if you wait until your “full” retirement age, which will likely be between 66 and 67. Your decision about when to take Social Security will depend on several factors, including your other sources of income and your family history of longevity. Of course, as you’re probably aware, the Social Security system is facing significant financial stress, so it’s possible that we may see changes to Social Security, based on actions Congress could take. In any case, you might want to be fairly conservative in estimating how much Social Security can contribute to your retirement income.

If you’re like most people, your work has been a central part of your life. So, wouldn’t it be nice to have the flexibility to decide when you no longer want to work?

The world has a different view of love. Without the Bible to define love, it can be diluted and perverted until it has little resemblance of real love as defined by God Himself. Without the Bible as one’s guide, love can be degraded to mere gratification of the flesh. For example, as our society has moved away from the Bible as its’ standard, the institution of marriage has been belittled and weakened. The divorce rate has skyrocketed during this generation. Our society has so departed from the biblical definition of love that it now refers to adultery as a “love affair”

Tom Battle is senior pastor of the Lord’s Glory Church in Humble, TX. He is a graduate of Georgia Tech (1969) and Lakewood Bible Institute, (1988). He is in his 4th decade of ministry and is the author of numerous Christian books and songs. Tom and his wife , Schar, have been happily married for many years and have two children and many grandchildren.

When the Bible is read and understood in the context of love, it becomes the greatest love story ever told. In fact, the Bible is a love letter from God to humanity! The sacrifice of Jesus is the greatest act of love that has ever taken place, and there will never be one greater.

In closing, let me encourage you to become a part of a local church that is love based and Bible based. We need the strength of one another’s love As Jesus said in John 13:35, “By this, all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another”

LOVE IS THE GREATEST STORY

As trees grow best in a forest, so our love is best cultivated when we gather together. Hebrews 10:24-25. “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”

May His love and blessings always be yours!

According to 1st Corinthians 13:6, real love (agape love) “does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth” Without the truth of God’s Word, love can become misguided and destructive. Love, as defined by the world can turn to hatred in an instant, but real love as defined by God Himself as eternal!Without the truth of the Scriptures as our guide, the path for love can be confusing and without direction. Psalm 119 -105, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path”. As we encounter life’s situations, the Bible lights the pathway of God’s love for us, and it helps us with every step. The Holy Spirit has poured out the love of God in our hearts. It is God’s Word that helps us choose the right direction for that love. Every day of our lives we need to read God’s love letter to us. Meditating on His Word builds our faith. In this way, we will see God’s power exceed our greatest expectations! Paul said it best in the prayer he gave for believers in Ephesians 3:14-21. “For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, , that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church, by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

A GLOBAL REVIVAL Christians in Indonesia have been praying for Houston for over 15 years because they believe that a worldwide revival will begin in the Houston. In his last years, revival was in the heart and passion of our dear friend, Pastor John Bisagno, who was part and supported Humble Pray Unity. He too believed that revival would begin in Houston--to quote him, “specifically in Humble, TX.” He believed that he would not go to be with the Lord before he began to see revival. The last words in his latest video for Humble Pray Unity 2018 were "It's done and it's happening now!" Pastor John Bisagno left to be with the Lord a month later. We firmly believe that he saw enough in the spirit to know his prayers for revival had been answered. GLOBAL REVIVAL. “It is already done and it is happening now!”

WONDERFUL TIMES OF PRAYER AND UNITY IN HUMBLE Humble Pray Unity “Revival Move of God.” It’s done and it’s happening now! Along seven years The Holy Spirit in us, with us, and moving among us, the Oil flowed changing the atmosphere. Affirming among us (Psalm 133:1-2) (John 17:21) A spark, became a flame, a flame turn into a fire of great awakening in our city, in our nation and around the world.

HUMBLE, TEXAS The natural reflects the supernatural. The supernatural fits into the natural Before continuing, I want to share with you a bit of the history of Humble, TX. Humble became an oil boom city in the 20th century, when oil was first produced there in 1905. The field in Humble was the largest producing field in Texas. This event changed the course of the history of our nation and the world. The company that was once known as Humble Oil Company is known today as ExxonMobil. In the twentieth century, Humble, Texas was the site of a physical oil boom. We believe 21st century Humble is destined to be the site of a spiritual oil boom-- a supernatural revival move of the Holy Spirit.

“It is already done and it is happening now!”

THE BEGINNING OF HUMBLE PRAY UNITY Tuesday, July 28, 2015 was a Historic day! The Lord brought us together in HUMBLE - about 150 pastors and ministers of different denominations and ethnic groups of our city. With intense desire in our hearts for revival and passion for spiritual awakening, leading us to a wonderful time of PRAYER and UNITY, giving rise to the presence of the Holy Spirit. Year after year Humble Pray Unity welcome more pastors, ministers & leaders who came to participate, some travel from other states & countries.

VISION In a pastor’s meeting at KSBJ, I saw H U M B L E, letter by letter in a vision and the Lord took me immediately to 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If MY PEOPLE, upon whom my name is called, will HUMBLE themselves, and PRAY, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive your sins, and heal your land.” Then I clearly understood the vision. The Lord was calling us to Pray in Unity, to seek Him earnestly in Humble I shared this vision with Pastor John Bisagno, who affirmed and was part and supported of Humble Pray Unity from the beginning.

We believe 21st century Humble is destined to be the site of a spiritual oil boom-- a supernatural revival move of the Holy Spirit.

With love in Christ, Sincerely Pr.Edwin Gil.

AMERICA AND THE TABERNACLE OF MOSES The furniture of the Tabernacle overlaid onto a map of the United States of America. The position of each piece of holy furniture, with it’s main substance, and the corresponding regions within America that share the same substance suggests that our nation was uniquely and divinely established by the God of Israel. the golden candlestick called the menorah main substance was oil. Not surprisingly, the tabernacle menorah is over Texas America’s major oil producing state! Throughout the Bible, oil symbolizes the anointing of the Holy Spirit. It was used to anoint priests or kings. Oil for healing, offering, and unity. The oil in the menorah was used to light the seven branches of the candlestick. It fueled the lamps and the light they gave symbolized (among other things) God-given revelation. Oil was used to light up the darkness.

Humble ISD is partnering with Project Playground, a nonprofit organization based in Conroe, that takes used playground equipment and installs it for children in developing nations, such as Bolivia, Botswana, Peru and Zambia. Project Playground has worked with the City of Conroe, the Woodlands Township, the City of Sugarland and the City of McKinney to repurpose used playground equipment – preventing waste, keeping plastic and metal out of landfills, and bringing joy to children who have never before experienced a playground.

Humble ISD adding playground equipment at elementary schools

Enhance Safety “COVID brought to the forefront how important it is for students to spend time outdoors in fresh air,” Luci Schulz, Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Schools, said. “We learned the value of adding more and better outdoor spaces. Students develop lifelong skills on the playground, such as how to collaborate and manage conflict resolution with their peers.”

Humble ISD families will have new ways to play outdoors. Each of the district’s 30 elementary schools are receiving new or additional playground equipment thanks to Bond 2022 funds, federal funds, or City of Houston TIRZ funds. The playground projects have been designed to:

The district will publish a map of themes by campus so that families can visit playgrounds of interest to their children.

Woodland Hills Elementary will be the first new playground, opening in August with a fairy tale theme. Park Lakes Elementary will be the second new playground, opening in the fall semester with a safari theme. Elm Grove Elementary will be the third new playground, opening in the spring semester with a treehouse theme.Hidden Hollow, with a western theme, and Humble Elementary, with a global theme, are next. Construction on HHE and HE playgrounds will begin during the spring semester.

Woodland Hills Elementary School students Bryson Roy, Landry Beckel and Penelope Zavala see their playground for the first time during the installation in July, along with Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Fagen and WHE Principal Cindy Barker. Statistics tell us that over 50% of the people who get married this year will most likely get a divorce. If that is true, then well over 50% of the people who get married this year will not find marriage to be all that they hoped it would be. And so people come to me and ask, “Why is the divorce rate climbing? Why isn’t marriage the stable institution that it once was? Why is the divorce rate so high in the Church?” I tell them it’s because people do not obey God. Now, this may seem simplistic, but the fact is, that this is true. If people purposed in their heart to be transformed by the Holy Spirit and become what God intended for them to be, and if they purposed in their hearts to learn what God intended for them to learn, not only would we have better marriages, we would also have a

The Problem: Divorce.The

The Husband: He is supposed to be the head of the house while acknowledging that he needs help. So what if both of these roles are not kept or are not kept correctly? Then he is not following the plan of God and, of course, the marriage suffers. The husband must acknowledge that headship is not dictatorship or tyranny. Headship is governed by the primary law, which is love. “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;” (Eph.5:25) When a husband demands authority but does not model the love of Christ, a wife feels the need to resist that authority and contend with the husband. Or, when a husband, because of pride, fails to ask for help, fails to discuss issues with his wife, and fails to demonstrate unity, his wife feels neglected and demeaned, and once again, resists the authority of her husband because she does not feel the oneness with him that God intended for them to share. Asking for help demonstrates his awareness of his shortcomings and his obedience to God’s plan.

by Dr. Alan Kitay

Roles in Marriage: When I do marriage counseling, or teach on the subject of marriage, I start by looking at the primary role and attitude of the husband and wife; two for the husband and two for the wife. For the husband: 1) He is to be the head of the wife (Eph. 5:23) and 2) He needs to seek her counsel and help. He needs a help meet (Gen. 2:18). For the wife: 1) She is to be the helper (Genesis 2:18) and she is to be submissive (obedient) to her husband (1 Peter 3:1, Ephesians 5:22,24; Titus 2:5 – Yes, I put several scriptures here on purpose…). Now the problems that occur in marriage come about when both parties forget these divinely appointed roles and attitudes or do not act in accordance to the Word of God when fulfilling these roles. Let me explain.

24

Solution: Jesus Christ better community, state, nation, and world. But, I digress.

And despite all of the problems associated with headship, the husband must not “be weary in well doing.”

When a couple start off by accepting and acting accordingly in their two, Divinely appointed roles, the marriage has a much greater chance for success. What a concept!

The Wife: The wife is supposed to be submissive to her supposed to help her husband (Yes, he needs her help). But, some wives have trouble harmonizing these two roles. The wife must realize that submission is not being a second-class citizen or having no value. It is, however, God’s chosen method of having order, harmony, and a hierarchy of authority. However, while acknowledging that the husband is the head, and has the final word, the wife also must fulfill her task of being a help meet. She needs to give him advice, counsel, and feedback on the joint issues of their lives and family. She must make him aware of her perspectives, experiences, and intuitions. She must model respect and obedience so the children can learn respect and obedience. And, despite all of the shortcomings of her husband, she must not be “weary in well doing.”

My day was off to a good start. I was on my way to a women’s meeting at our church with my favorite chicken sandwich, hash brown, and a hot cup of coffee. As I picked up the cup to head inside the building, the lid came off the cup. The cup of coffee spilled all over the seat, the floor mat, and worse, my white pants. I had not planned on that happening. It was so unexpected.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Unexpected Stains in Life

Slow Down Mommy is a picture book filled with hilarious fun as readers go on a wild ride with crazy twists and turns. Available at Walmart.com, Amazon.com, and BarnesandNoble.com.

It was indeed a reminder that no matter how we prepare in life, the UNEXPECTED will happen. We cannot avoid it, but we can choose how we respond to it. For example, when the unexpected happened, I could have chosen to be upset at the server who forgot to put the lid on securely or be upset that my pants had coffee stains all over them. Yes, of course, I had a reason to be upset. But, despite the mess the unexpected had caused, I was not going to let the UNEXPECTED ruin myWhenday.I entered the building, a couple of the ladies had arrived. They totally understood when I explained to them why my pants had coffee stains all over them. They talked about when they wore white pants, they also ended up with some stains. We laughed as our conversation shifted to the information about who would be at the meeting. When the meeting started, I forgot all about the coffee stains. The unexpected will keep you upset if you let it. It wants you to focus on what happened. How you respond to the UNEXPECTED does make a difference. The unexpected for you may have been a job layoff, an unfavorable medical diagnosis, or the betrayal of a good friend.Theunexpected is a situation that tries to distract your focus from enjoying life. The unexpected’s only purpose is to steal, kill, and destroy people from having a happy and abundant life. No matter what unexpected situations we experience, Jesus came so He could help us enjoy life. No matter what comes, He is faithful to see us through them all. As we focus on God’s promises in His Word, we must not allow the unexpected to have victory over us. Each day, as we apply God’s Word and walk in forgiveness, we will forget about each “Unexpected Stain in Life.”

Triple G Roofing, a small, local, family owned/operated company ran by Tim Menn and Glenn Menn Sr., was founded in 1973 in Highlands, TX. and is now located in Huffman, TX. It has been a father and son team for the last 20 plus years. “ We are honest, ethical, and truly care about our customer’s and to make sure that their experience with us supersedes any expectations, we warranty our work and stand by the products that we use. Our quality and workmanship and professionalism exceeds current standards by far. Customer service and quality has really gone out the window, but it is what we hang our hat on. When a job is being done, we always do a walk around with the Homeowner, to make sure that they are completely satisfied. “

Tim Menn says “It is time for all of us to do more to help our seniors and those that are less fortunate to make this world a better place. It starts with us to make a difference.”

The end result was that Triple G Roofing, with the help of other compassionate individuals, mitigated a potential hazardous collapse of their covered patio to which they had no means to repair and/or replace and were subject to being fined by the Property Management Company of the MHP.

TRIPLE G ROOFING COMPASSION AND HONESTY IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS was telling me to help them. So, I reached out to Marsha Klein and offered my labor at no cost. She then told me that at the end of the month, they only have 50.00 to spare.” An appointment was scheduled to go by and take a look at what needed to be done, to get their patio in a safe condition. There were two additional willing charitable donors, on Next Door (who wish to remain nameless) that helped financially with $100 each. Triple G Roofing donated free lumber as well, and a loyal Triple G Roofing customer donated $150 worth of lumber. “The first weekend we were there, I enlisted the help of my daughter, Lauren O’Connor and her boyfriend Carlos. The next weekend, I was so very thankful for Eduardo Lemus from Next Door who helped me all day for free. His help was so appreciated and I couldn’t have finished without him.”

A request caught the eye of Tim Menn on the Next-Door App. Two seniors, Mr. & Mrs. Klein, are on a fixed budget, and their porch was literally falling apart. They had no money for materials or labor. “Being a son of two senior parents, it played on my heart strings, and God

Julie Menn has been working hard over the last three years rebranding the name, logo, website, and social media presence. “We have a presence on Facebook, Instagram, Google and now Next Door. We have found Next Door to be the most challenging app of all, because unfortunately so many neighbors have been taken advantage of, from not showing up for appointments or jobs, taking money and not doing the job, (the worst) not finishing the job, or doing such a horrible job, it then has to be re-done by a company such as ours, Triple G Roofing.”

Like the piece of a puzzle, each of us have value and hold an important part of life.

else constructs their jigsaw will not be the same as your approach. Some people dive straight in and fill in the middle, but then can find it a bit more difficult to fill out the edges. Some like to sort out all the pieces carefully before they even start. Some will have help completing their jigsaw. But your jigsaw is your masterpiece. Approach it your own way, and be sure to credit yourself for each part that takes shape. Support others on their journey and celebrate their progress, trusting in your heart that they will do the same for you as you move forward. Your time will come. Enjoy the process and the excitement of seeing it revealed. You may even inspire others along the way. When all the pieces are put together, you will see that your final picture is as beautiful as it was always meant to be. You may not see it now, but God is using you to create a beautiful masterpiece.

APiece of the Puzzle

When I start a jigsaw puzzle, I first see this beautiful picture on the outside of the box of what it is going to look like. Then I empty the box to start the process and think “What have I gotten myself in to?”

That happens in life as well. We have this image of what we want our life to be like, but more often than not we struggle to find the right pieces. We may at times even try to force a piece where it doesn’t belong - we chose things in areas of our lives that were never meant for us. Just pick up another piece and continue with the process.

No matter how much time we have already invested in this ill-fitting piece we will eventually realize that we must accept reality and remove the piece that we tried to force to work. This is the only way to make room for a new piece that will fit perfectly into place. This doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with us or with them. We simply need to recognize we don’t fit together, and then learn the lessons we need to learn from it. It can take a long time to get all the pieces in the right place.Howsomeone
