2020 was supposed to mark the 30th Anniversary of Austin Pride, and like the rest of you, our plans and our lives came to a halt because of COVID-19. We unexpectedly and sadly had to cancel Pride in 2021 because of the Delta surge. It has been a long and exhausting 3 years. The pandemic brought a lot of uncertainty and change. Change can also mean growth, and as Austin Pride FINALLY returns for 2022, you’ll see some changes that will hopefully allow us to grow in the years to come. The parade will no longer turn down 4th Street. While this may be disappointing to some, it allows the parade to be bigger and safer, and gives us the option of closing down 4th, so that parade attendees and our community can continue to celebrate. We know it’s been a long, long wait. Celebrate, have fun, come together again and enjoy Austin Pride 2022. Austin Pride Board
