July? Of course not – we’d never lie, at least not about something like our independence, our freedom, our liberty. Why, the very Father of our Country taught us that when he chopped down a cherry tree and threw it across the Potomac, or some such thing. Well, okay. Maybe a little fib or two. For starters, the whole George Washington “I cannot tell a lie,” cherry tree thing didn’t appear until the fifth printing of his biography, when it needed some freshening up, and was popularized in a travelling sideshow by P.T. “Born Every Minute” Barnum. Turns out a few liberties have indeed been taken when we tell our tales of Liberty, but, hey, exaggeration is a fine American tradition. Grab a cold one and set off another bottle rocket – and wait ‘till you hear the whoppers told between now and November. –Michael Abedin

Sometimes I feel like “Inspiration’s Puppet.”
Simple, right?
I feel as if I am just a stenographer for – as I called it in my book, The Secret Prayer – “The Great Something.” I receive an idea from this vast unknown something, and before you know it I’m watching my hands move over the keyboard as the bursting concept in my head evolves into an article, post, song, or book. But “I” had little to do with it. All “I” said was – yes.
I think we are all like that. We get ideas, and – because we have free will – we can refuse to follow them, or we can say yes and act on them. Struggle happens when we reject the inspiration. Success happens when we say yes to the inspiration. Some of my greatest works were penned by me as Inspiration’s Puppet. And they were done in record time. I wrote my bestselling book Zero Limits in only two weeks. I wrote the recent manifesto The Awakened Millionaire in about three weeks. But this doesn’t happen with just books. When Guitar Monk Mathew Dixon and I enter the studio, we often don’t have any idea what we will record. But we go in open, willing, and ready. And out of the space we make, inspiration guides us to create musical gems. And it all happens pretty fast. You can do this, too.
So, how do you make inspiration your friend? First: Go to work. (Inspiration is a guest that does not willingly visit the lazy. – Pyotr Tchaikovsky) Second: Set a time. (I write when I’m inspired, and I see to it that I’m inspired at nine o’clock every morning. – Peter De Vries) Third: Persist. (You can’t wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club. – Jack London)
Another example. A few years ago, in late 2012, I decided that I was done with music. But then I set an intention to write ten original songs and record them within eight weeks. It was an “impossible” goal. After all, I had no songs, no motivation, and no belief.
How would I pull this off? But I stated a clear intention, which got my inner motors revved up, and to my own delight and surprise, songs came “out of nowhere.” And yes, I recorded that album – all original, all by me, and all in record time. That album was called Sun Will Rise (at www.cdbaby.com/ Artist/JoeVitale1). In a way, I pulled inspiration from thin air with a clear intention.
But sometimes inspiration just appears without an intention. An example. Back around 2010, I walked around a RollsRoyce Phantom, the doors swung open so I could peer inside, and mumbled out loud, “That masterpiece is big enough to have meetings in it.” Even as I said it, I sensed it was a defining moment in my life. I bought that divine car, and as I filled out the papers for it, I was writing the sales letter in my head for what was to become the now famous Rolls-Royce Phantom Mastermind. For the next three years I had people flying in from all over the world, Switzerland, Italy, Poland, Japan and more, all coming to me for one reason – to sit in the car and brainstorm with me. And those masterminds helped pay for the car. (I later sold the Rolls, bought the Fisker Karma electric car that was a nightmare of problems, and then dumped it to buy a Bentley. And yes, I currently host Bentley Masterminds.) I love inspiration.
Anyone can do this. Photo by: Brian Fitzsimmons

It takes intent, faith, action, and persistence. But the end result is something pretty glorious. You get to be “Inspiration’s Puppet.” How cool is that? PS: My father, now ninety-one, just released his second book, What I Would Do As U.S. President. It’s a thought-provoking alternative to all the brain mush out there. Trump, Hillary, and other politicians could learn something from this book – assuming (as my father might say) – they can all read. The other lesson.
July is when we blow
About half a century ago, cultural changes were happening all over the world. Martin Luther King Jr. and presidential shoo-in Robert F. Kennedy were gunned down in 1968, and if you think political conventions could turn ugly this year, you probably weren’t around to see the ‘68 Democratic Convention in Chicago turn into a literal (in the literal sense of literal) riot in the streets. Over in France in 1968, students and workers were rioting with the streets, tossing cobblestones to protest economic inequality – a quaint notion that nowadays, in the capital of a state once an independent nation founded by a revolution, probably means you can’t afford the property taxes on that condo on the Eastside you really want.
things up to celebrate victory in the Revolutionary War, when we shook off dependence on European colonial powers and… say what? We wouldn’t have stood a chance of winning without – the French? The French? The ones whose fries we were calling Freedom Fries not that long ago? Those French?
Oui. As the excellent Sarah Vowell points out in Lafayette in the Somewhat United States, the nineteen-year-old Marquis de Lafayette came to America looking for adventure in the Revolution, became George Washington’s youngest general and surrogate son, and talked the French into sending troops, supplies, and money to the upstart American revolutionaries. Talking Frenchmen into doing anything to tick off Brits isn’t that difficult, but the expenses of supporting the American Revolution started the French economy on a downward slide that led to Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité, and the storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789, as the French had their very own revolution, courtesy of Monsieur Guillotine. Napoleon Bonaparte’s nephew took another crack at North America in 1861, invading Mexico with the longterm goal of supporting the Confederacy. His army was stopped at Puebla on May 5, 1862, meaning future Cinco de Mayo celebrations would feature tequila shots instead of champagne, and everybody in Texas wouldn’t be a Cajun.
More popular than John Lennon. The sixty-six year old Lafayette did an 1824 victory tour of the country he helped create, and more people turned out in New York than for the Beatles nearly a century and a half later. More places are named for him than probably anyone, including Fayette County near Bastrop, home of ZZ Top’s famous La Grange Chicken Ranch bordello – the perfect remembrance for a Frenchman. The lesson? Revolutions are circles – and a good history lesson can get you all the way to the end of column one.

A taxing problem. Speaking of the “T” word, the famous party in Boston was mostly about dumping tea from Britain to protect the interests of smugglers like John Hancock, and the Sons of Liberty were pretty much hired hooligans, the sort you find on any waterfront from Boston to Marseilles. Back to the mid-Sixties, though. They had their own cast and soundtrack, and those who provided them are moving on. Glen Frey, Merle Haggard, David Bowie – and, indisputably, The Greatest. Muhammad Ali was the Sixties. An Olympic boxing champion stripped of his professional heavyweight title for refusing military induction on religious grounds during the Vietnam War, he lost his peak years as a boxer and still came back to regain his title – twice. He was our icon, and the thorn in our side. “I am America,” he once said. “I am the part you won’t recognize. But get used to me.”
That’s Liberty. Freedom may be a dove, but Liberty is an eagle, lightning, a sailing ship tossed on the stormy seas of metaphor. Austin muralist J Muzacz’s July cover bird could easily have been inked on the arm of one of the Sons of Liberty – or Ali’s.

THE ART OF J MUZACZ W
alls have always been canvases, from cave paintings to graffiti to elaborate murals, and Austin’s seen some pretty cool murals come and go. Austin mural artist J Muzacz doodled his way through UT, backpacked Europe, peeked in pyramids, taught English in Korea and Japan, harvested sugarcane, and poached (cooked, not stole) eggs to support his calling. He’s published JAPAN 365: A Drawing-A-Day Project, and Life Is Sweet: The Story of a Sugarcane Field – a children’s story set in Okinawa. He’s taught urban art to kids and creates edible landscapes, and his mural work is by the hour instead of the square foot, less expensive than most custom work. Got a restaurant or independent business? Fight gentrification – slap a custom sign or artwork on it. Get a keg, some music (or Muzacz), make it a party. Think of it as your mural duty. Hyd dratte (and alkkaliize)) your ceells by Margie Captain Austin got a big drink of water this spring that kept summertime temperatures at bay, but by mid-June, heat and humidity were back – and now you need big drinks of water. Your body relies on water to survive. Every cell, tissue, and organ in your body requires hydration to work correctly – to maintain temperature, remove waste, and lubricate joints – and water is critical for good heart health. The body loses water each day when you go to the bathroom, sweat, even when you breathe. When it’s really hot, when you’re physically active, if you have a fever or allergies, you can lose water even faster. Since you’re approximately 75% water, you have to be sure you’re not becoming dehydrated.
If you feel thirsty, you’re already getting dehydrated.

Because it can cause enzyme activity to slow down, low energy is a first sign of dehydration as cells begin to lose water. Enzymes are catalysts for every life-sustaining metabolic process in your body, including unlocking nutrients for cells, and modern day processing and packaging means the average diet is usually lacking in them. Any stress – chemicals, heat, environmental or electromagnetic pollution, work, travel, sleep disruption, even emotional and relationship issues – can weaken or deplete enzymes, causing them to be used up faster than they’re replaced.
Enzyme deficiency can create a whole slew of issues. Digestive disorders and bacterial overgrowth in the intestines, skin problems, joint pain, brain fog, headaches, even mood swings. Stress can be difficult to resolve, but dehydration isn’t. Just hydrate yourself – drink more water. The trick is to drink quality water. Alkaline water is less acidic than regular tap water and the pH is above 7.0, making it rich in alkalizing minerals. It’s abundant in antioxidant potential and is micro-clustered, which means it penetrates cells more effectively and transports all necessary minerals, trace elements, and subtle energies. Without water, organic life simply cannot exist – and when you consume poor quality water, you unknowingly compromise your health. Bottled water is not alkaline water. Often as not, it’s straight from a municipal tap, expensive, absorbs phatalates from plastic, and is an environmental nightmare. It’s better to turn your own tap water into pure alkaline drinking water. Margie Captain is a hydration specialist in alkaline antioxidant water. For information, online resources – and FREE alkaline water – call (512) 627-3585 or (512) 415-7669.
AND AND
by Michael Abedin Liberty and freedom sometimes have to be defended, and those sent to do the job sometimes return damaged in body, mind, and spirit – if they return. The profession of warrior once took a lifetime of training, and was a source of leadership, stability, and protection. Battle scars were worn honorably and proudly. As merchants took over the profession of war, those who did the dirty work became parts of a machine, discarded when they weren’t usable.
Few things are more shameful than what has become of American veterans returning from wars in the last half-century. History considers Vietnam the first war we lost, through no fault of those sent to fight it. They came home – and were swept under the rug. More than a few brought a monkey on their back, since it was also the first war we fought in an epicenter of illegal drug production. Toss in a mixture of toxic chemicals, radioactive ammo and armor in Iraq and Afghanistan, traumatic head injuries from improvised explosive devices, and the constant tension of never knowing your true enemy. You have a ticking time bomb of what was once called battle fatigue, and is now its very own psychological disorder – PTSD. The Pentagon does its best to conceal epidemics of alcoholism, drug abuse, domestic violence, homelessness, and suicide by vets, who soldier up instead of asking for help. Holistic practitioners, however, have a lot of success working with vets, especially with physical disciplines like yoga and qigong.
Empowering with breath. Todd Nichols is a qigong instructor who’s worked with vets in VA facilities, where chairs are weighted with sand to keep them from being thrown, and many are recovering heroin addicts. “The biggest challenge is gaining their trust. Someone who never wore their uniform can’t understand what they endured. Veterans immediately want to know if you’re one of them.” He had to wow them, he said, with breath empowerment and 9-Breath exercises. “When they do qigong breathing in a group, old mind patterns are temporarily bypassed – and the qi is so strong it gives a natural high, helping replace harmful addictions.” War sometimes produces heroes when life has to be taken – and, sometimes, when it’s given back. Qi Revolution, August 26-28, Austin Convention Center. $99 for two and a half days of Qigong Training. Fire, police, and military admitted free. (800) 298-8970, www.QiRevolution.com

In all your same old places by Christina Allen Looking for that ultimate soulmate, someone who loves you unconditionally, even the darkest bits you so skillfully tuck away? This is the goal of a lifetime for many. When we find it, we feel we are finally “home.” So often, however, this perfect relationship takes a turn in the night. Studies show this often happens about eighteen months in. Something happens. Someone pulls back or starts trying to control the other, temperaments wear, or a job takes front seat. Illnesses set in, or our needs go unmet. Judgments flare and we polarize, pulling back.
This, however, is when the real journey to finding unconditional love begins. The hardest thing to accept is that this disharmony has everything to do with you. Whatever the other person is seemingly doing wrong, you see it through your filters and react to it based on your experiences from the past. You are creating half of the dynamic. A person may be unavailable for some reason, perhaps because they’re overwhelmed or because they’re distracted by an obligation. Their pulling away may have nothing to do with you – or it may be in reaction to you, but because it’s happened so many times in your life before, you react in anger.
How dare they abandon you? What’s most interesting is that the other person is reacting to your actions through their filters, too. Maybe your anger reminds them of an unstable parent, who abused them constantly as a child. They then go into protection mode, as they have so many times before, and stop showing up to the relationship. This starts a cat and mouse dynamic, fueled by what each person experienced from their past. Until we learn how to disengage from old patterns, we will ask those that are closest to us to play out roles from our past – and, just as unknowingly, we agree to play out parts of theirs. Ultimately, it’s not the other person who is hurting us, however. Our perception of their actions is just triggering old wounds.
16
Further, whatever you think they are doing, you will find you are doing it to yourself, first.
Everything outside of us is a mirror of our internal world. Consider the woman who stays in an abusive relationship – she’s actually abusing herself by staying. The man who is feeling abandoned is usually rejecting himself first, by blocking out the love he believes himself unworthy of. Criticizing your beloved for not connecting with you usually just pushes them further into their sense of inadequacy. Yes, they are hiding behind their work – but that’s not the problem. Your reaction to it is. When we start judging and putting up walls, or start posturing and demanding, we push them even further away. It comes down to this. If we want to experience love, we have to heal the wounds that keep us locked into dramas from the past. Some of us have had these stories for lifetimes. We can’t expect unconditional love from others when we can’t give it to ourselves. Love isn’t a currency to barter with. It’s a pure state of being. We find it not outside ourselves, but within. It is the vibrational state we were created in. Like the sun, the Creative Source is not wounded, and therefore casts no shadow of its own. When we can tap into that love, we get a direct line. Any resistance we experience simply mirrors the limits we, ourselves, have put there. Instead of looking for someone new to meet your needs, or trying to fix your faulty partner, why not find out what needs healing in you? Remove your own conditions and be the love you’re not receiving. Then you will truly find your way home. Christina Allen’s work as an intuitive, healer, teacher, and founder and director of the Austin Shamanic Center combines a strong science background (BA Physics, MS Neuroscience) with decades of applied ancient spiritual wisdom (Master Yogi, Reiki Master, and profound Shamanic Healing based on Q’ero Indian traditions of Peru). BREATHWORK
Learning How Not to Breathe – at Birth by Rima Star (Part 2) (Based on a 1995 article in Austin Alternative Health, discovered in a box of old documents.) One reason conscious breathing processes re-surfaced in the 1970s and 80s was to remove giant stops to natural breathing rhythms, going back to the first breath at birth. Learning to breathe at birth was not always natural, rhythmical, or pleasurable, due to standard procedures beginning in the 1940’s. Mothers and babies drugged in labor, routine cutting of the umbilical cord immediately after birth – the first breath was more of an emergency than a calm, peaceful welcoming of your own direct breath of life, when you were ready. This was often followed by being separated from the mother for hours, sometimes days, causing both baby and Mom to miss the critical initial bonding period, supported by the wisdom of their natural hormones and physical systems. This separation could put the baby into confusion, depression, even hopelessness – Mom might be labeled with postpartum depression.
Ever had the burning desire for someone to show up at a specific time for a specific event, important to you? And you thought they felt the same? When that didn’t happen, did you feel let down, apathetic toward that person – or yourself? Measures to remedy this disappointment at birth were frequently ignored. Hopefully, when reunited with Mother and Dad (and breastfed) in the family environment, these experiences could be released and normal bonding restored. For many, bonding processes were interrupted to the extent that we grew and developed with an underlying pattern of limited breathing, expression, and actions. Who wants to breathe fully and freely if that’s anchored in experiences of hurt or separation? Breath as a way to change consciousness and support healing is talked about in many traditions, from ancient times to present day. The catharsis felt by Rebirthing founder Leonard Orr and other early breath explorers increased their sense of safety and ease of living, giving them a skill that could be integrated and used in daily life for greater clarity, focus, self-confidence and trust, an awareness that each cell in the body breathes – and greater joy and enthusiasm simply to be alive. Rima Star founded Ebb and Flow Integration Therapy, a pathway of intentional breathing, and O3 Topical Ozone Products. INSULT TO INJURY Want top performance? Hack yourself. by Michael Abedin “Adding insult to injury is a saying coined a couple of millennia ago by someone named Phaedrus, who translated Aesop’s fables into Latin and added a few of his own, including one about a guy who does himself a mischief swatting a fly that lands on his head. He misses the fly, adding insult to injury and setting the template for later generations of Aggie jokes and calls to Time Warner customer service. Insult, however, is actually a medical term for anything that disrupts your physical or mental state, particularly something invasive and traumatic – an injury, in other words. Injuries are, by nature, usually sudden and unplanned, Phaedrus and his flyswatter notwithstanding. Impact and sports injuries in particular pack a big emotional whammy, and any good bodyworker will tell you releasing the trauma is part of the recovery process. You can take your time working out scrambled energy patterns from, say, pulling up lame in a marathon or standing up under an open cabinet door – but do you want to? (Seen many westerns where they pull the Apache arrow out slowly?) If a pattern of disruptive information was introduced suddenly, you want to disrupt the disruption suddenly – insult the insult, as it were. As any software nerd will tell you, there’s one surefire way to disrupt something.

Hack it. Hack into that sucker and introduce your very own new programming. Chiropractors know this. Their stock in trade is returning something out of whack to its correct position – an adjustment. Chiropractic, however, has moved to the forefront of far more innovative methods that, says Dr. Ryan Osborne, are essentially forms of injury recovery hacking. Osborne expanded his practice to include Advanced Muscle Integration Technique (AMIT), and Bilateral Nasal Specific (BNS) technique, a method of quickly realigning bones in the nasal, head, and facial areas, favorite targets for impact injuries. Both AMIT and BNS can correct dysfunctional information patterns created by an injury – an insult – to your physical and mental systems, or upgrade those systems even when no injury has occurred. The human body is an amazing piece of technology. Keep its systems updated, hack in when needed, and it’ll give you top performance – even if you swat a fly on your head. Osborne Family Chiropractic has combined AMIT, BNS, and other innovative procedures, becoming Enhance Performance Center. (512) 255-9711, www.GetHealthyRoundRock.com

The word abundance can be defined as full measure, an all-sufficiency in finances, health, loving relationships, and creative self-expression. To establish a foundation for this full measure in manifestation – prior to weaving the Consciousness and Creative Threads together – let us review five important points. t 8F VTF PVS NJOET UP UIJOL Each thought is a pocket of energy. When we concentrate on an idea, a purpose, we release the concentrated energy, which is the power of manifestation. t %JTUJODU NFOUBM JNBHFT based on heartfelt desires should be ideals held in mind and feeling nature. These ideals represented the perfect mode, the highest goal, and not images of imperfection, limitation, defeat – unfulfillment in relationships, dissatisfaction in job or career, a debt overload, or a physical malady. A person may be in a groove of continually thinking and feeling about such situations, concentrating on one or more, which by law creates more of the same in the individual’s life. t $SFBUJWF NBOJGFTUBUJPO requires attention, because energy follows thought. Attention means concentration, deliberation, contemplation on the Ideal, not distraction or carelessness in the thinking process. t 5IF -BX PG "UUSBDUJPO is the love vibration that brings our good to us. The more we can be radiating centers of Divine Love, the greater will be the full measure in all aspects of life. t 8F BSF JOTUSVNFOUT channels through which Creative Energy of Spirit flows. This is the natural process of life, of manifestation. The energy of Creative Mind flows out, is impressed by what we’re holding in consciousness, then flows back to us as form and experience. It does this primarily through other people who, without consciously realizing it, are functioning as instruments of the activity of Creative Mind. But we must not focus on particular individuals for our good. Attention must be placed on the love, wisdom, and power within – the Source. I should mention healing of the physical body can also take place when we personally become the “flow-back instrument for divine energy. It flows through us, is impressed with the model for radiant health, then returns to our own energy field to do its healing work. Where do you find the Keys to Freedom?
THE LAST PLACE t t YOU LOOK by Reverend Kate Barnidge Man is condemned to be free; because once thrown into the world, he is responsible for everything he does. It is up to him to give life meaning. – Jean-Paul Sartre The elusive state of freedom perches atop the loftiest of goals. From sustaining morality to the wild mystery in the human soul it rides, unbound. Freedom can be a very simple thing, though, something found inside of the task of living. Aristotle explained it clearly. “He who has overcome his fears will truly be free.” The deeper you dive into those fears, the greater the reward of liberty – and that reward is the ability to choose. It sometimes seems that freedom comes with the bitter sweetness of a hard-earned prize, but it doesn’t have to be that way. The more knowledge you have of what actually informs your decisions, the easier it will be to make them.
What binds a person to another? What grows a family tree? What carries a riddle through time, and where do these things reside? Good questions, all of them. Imagine what your life would be like if you had answers to those questions, and more. In my observation as a psychic reader and counselor, there is so very much stirring beneath the surface of the mind. Much of it goes undocumented, relegated to the world of the unseen, but inside these curiosities of the human mind lie many of the keys to freedom – and the ability to choose. Choice is a creative force, with the godlike quality of bringing into being that which is desired. The ability to choose a life and design it is just a matter of peeling back the layers in the way of success. It’s okay if this takes a while – even a lifetime, or more. The more keys you have to unlock the gates on your path, however – to unlock the mysteries of how and why you’ve come to this point – the easier and clearer the path becomes. You are built for liberty. You are built to attain greater and greater responsibility for your own life – a life of freedom. Reverend Kate Barnidge is a professional psychic, giving interpretations and healing in-person or long-distance, with love and great care. (512) 271-4863, www.CoreTherapeuticsATX.com

The Heartwakers Club
WHEN OPENNESS FAILS The Heartwakers Club, with Zaeli Open relationships face a lot of skepticism from the getgo. Despite all the divorce and difficulty among conventional couples, bias tempts us to believe non-monogamous relationships are less likely to succeed than monogamous ones. We notice it more when they struggle and end, because on some level we were counting down, never really believing they stood a chance. Meanwhile, the fits and starts of status quo relationships get accepted as part of the deal. Sure, open relationships can end, and like any other human endeavor, sometimes they end badly. But what does it mean for a relationship to “succeed?”
Productive relationships ask you to step into your authentic self, no coward’s quest. Whether you discover latent sexual needs or dysfunctions or long-lost personal dreams, openness is willingness to rearrange more than just your theories on pride and jealousy. Openness is willingness to be humbled, feel the pain of your vulnerability, trust when you can’t possibly know, ride out scary feelings we’re trained to avoid – and let your partner(s) do the same, allowing them a full range of emotions, including sadness and doubt, and deciding whether and how to respond.
Must it only mean never moving on?
Open to a fault.
Might a relationship be successful if it taught valuable lessons, helped heal past hurts, enriched life in the moment, introduced new passions? We must recognize the difference between a relationship ending, and a relationship failing. Believe it or not, being able to identify and accept when a relationship needs to end is actually part of a successful relationship. In fact, open relationships offer advantages to staying together long-term – romantic and sexual variety, which preempts cheating and curbs boredom; a level of honesty that intensifies intimacy; and skills of adaptation, which come in handy with demands such as kids and careers. When open relationships fail and don’t realize their potential for growth and nurturing, it’s for one of two reasons. Either the people in the relationship were never truly open, or they were open to a fault.
On the other end, sometimes people try open relationships and forget the relationship part, getting so caught up chasing “freedom” they forge no meaningful bonds. Fearing entanglement, they decline to weave any tapestry, living life as a solitary thread. Open relationships present logistical challenges in coordinating time, and sometimes excessively open people won’t plan or follow through. New relationships incite intense pair-bonding periods, demanding huge amounts of focus and energy – excessively open people see this as a sign the new relationship is “better” than the old, jumping ship rather than rolling with things until they level out. Humans understand we require a minimum of things to sustain us, but are relatively slow to grasp that there’s also an upper limit. Just as too much food, alcohol, or sun can be nauseating, so can having too many choices.
Never truly open.
At a certain point, they don’t make you happier.
Too many people attempt ethical non-monogamy while maintaining a monogamous mentality. They want to play by open “rules,” but expect the emotional comforts of a conventional relationship – assurance they’re loved most, nothing will ever change, and their partner belongs to them. This is a setup for dissatisfaction. To be truly open is not merely “allowing” love and sex outside your relationship, it’s understanding that it’s relevant, possibly essential, to your partner’s flourishing. Openness challenges assumptions that “outside love” is a menace to your happy home. To be in a truly open relationship, people in it must be open to learn about themselves – and, believe me, it’s harder than it sounds. Non-monogamy tests you, tickles your insecurities, asks you to face broken pieces you’ve worked hard to deny or ignore.
24
If freedom is the ability to make conscious choices, you can never have too much. Defining it as many do – behaving like you affect only yourself – can paint you into corners. Many in open relationships pretend they’re drifting on a sea of shifting whims, with no accountability to steer themselves, or mind other vessels. This is just as self-centered as possessiveness. Ethical non-monogamy mandates reflection, communication, and empathy. By exercising these muscles, we gain the strength to wield true freedom. Zaeli is a love coach, here to help you bring intention and consciousness to your romantic life. www.ZAELI.net

Dear Ashtara: Messages from Your Angels and Master Teachers Dear Ashtara, What do I need to do to see a 360-degree change in my life? I feel like I keep doing things to improve and learn, but am still not moving forward enough to feel a big change. I’m kind of feeling stuck. I would like to see a big difference in myself and in my life. Also, should my brother in law accept the new job opportunity they are offering him? Michelle, 46, Austin, TX Dear Michelle, You are supposed to be an author, columnist, and writer at this juncture of your life. The best thing to do is to plan what type of changes you would like. Focus on them and your guardian angel, Metatron, will help you. Tackle one thing at a time and keep learning. Eventually the wheel of fortune may find you. As far as your brother in law, it seems that he will make the wisest choice. Therefore, let the universe be his supply because when he finally gets the right position it will be like the universe handed it to him. You will see.
Dear Ashtara, Will my finances be so I will be able to maintain my home and purchase a car? Thank you, Joyce, 63, Richmond, VA Dear Joyce, When you are old, you will be able to have a home. You will have five or six more cars in your lifetime. Since you are so resourceful, you will always have an abundant and joy-filled life. Your angel is Gabriel. Your high teacher is Sandalfon. Find their pictures and frame them and you will begin to receive ascension.
26
Dear Ashtara, Oh my, one question is so hard to pick – money, finances, job, love life, kids, health? I guess I will just ask if there is anything that I need to hear or know. Is there something that the universe and Angels want to tell me or reveal to me? Gina, 63, Colonial Heights, VA Dear Gina, It seems you are about ready to become more in tune. Perhaps you and your universe will dance in the light together. Perhaps you and your Starship will also connect. Your romance is supposed to materialize when you make up your mind that is for you. As far as your health, you need to eat mainly raw foods, salads, yellow squash, cauliflower, sunflower seeds daily, and pumpkin seeds every other day. You also need to juice together (must be a juicer that extracts the pulp) watermelon, cantaloupe, oranges, plus six other fruits of your choice. Juice 8-20 oz. of this 3 x a month for nine months. You need to do that in order to maintain a proper blood sugar level. During your life, you will probably have ample income. If you invested in the stock market, you would do well. Your highest angel/teacher is Sandalfon.
Profound psychic readings and healings can be scheduled (in person or phone). Questions answered and more. Rediscovering its ancient healing system
by Neil and Zena Hammond High-vibrating energy healing modalities are being given to humanity at this time of great changes, including one used in the healing temples of Atlantis by healing priests and priestesses and kept in the Great Pools of Energy until humanity was once again ready to channel it. The attunement and system, channelled by Birkan Tore, are a combination of ancient techniques used in the temples and new ones given to us for the challenges we’re facing today.
Beyond 2012. Since we’re now beyond 2012, we have the opportunity to bring back the high frequency lifestyle of Atlantis and take it even further. These sessions are designed to balance the energy field, as Atlanteans believed disease was a manifestation of imbalance in that field. The focus is on listening to the body and its messages to find root causes of conditions, and the energy is very high vibrational and powerful, yet feels gentle when channelling or receiving it. Each session is conducted by a trained practitioner and Atlantean Angels, said to assist with the application of the energy and healing process. The energy can be used as a hands-on technique, or without laying on hands, and can be sent from a distance. A session can take from fifteen to forty minutes, depending on the needs of the client and the practitioner’s inner guidance. The Atlantean energy, though, will continue working and balancing the energy field of the client for several hours. This way, there’ll be no sudden shifts or outbursts of release caused by the treatment. The highest good of the client is always the core intention for each session – practitioners respect the soul path and soul lessons of clients, and support them on their path. They can also provide the individual with intuitive guidance received during the process. Of course, it can also be used for self-healing and spiritual development. The system has no required rituals or complex symbology for its channelling. After an attunement, a practitoner simply channels Atlantean energy. Training includes using intuitive skills, communicating with Angels, and bringing guidance during and after a treatment. In this modality, the focus is not on disease – it’s simply acknowledged, and the focus is instead on perfect health. Practitioners no longer have to go through lengthy priesthood trainings, as they once had to do in Atlantis, and are also attuned to the energies of plant and mineral kingdoms and are able to channel their energies during
