Harlingen Parks & Recreation rents out 6 pavilions throughout our parks. The rental area is the enclosed space that includes a covered pavilion, picnic tables, a barbecue pit, lights and electricity. Restrooms are open to the public, but located close to the pavilions. Reservations need to be made in person at our office (502 E. Tyler).

HARLINGEN TRACK & FIELD
Training will be provided for track and field events! In addition, participants will have the opportunity to compete in track meets across the Rio Grande Valley. State qualifiers will compete in the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF) Summer Games of Texas in College Station, TX July 26 - 29. Starts: June 4, 2018 through July 13, 2018 (Qualifiers for the Games of Texas will continue training until July 24, 2018) Age: 6-18 (Max 125 participants) Cost: $35.00 per person, this includes program registration and t-shirt ONLY. Additional costs for track meets. Location: To be determined. A photocopy of your child’s birth certificate is required at the first week of practice.

Cooking for Kids
School’s out. Now what? Keep your child engaged this summer with tons of games, crafts, swimming, field trips, and other activities. This summer enjoy two fun filled sessions. In June pull out all the stops and show off your special talent in our “vaudeville” themed camp. Then come back next month as we enjoy the classic summer camp activities: fishing, S’mores, ghost stories, and more.
Make the summer fun and engaging! It has been proven, that kids will eat healthier and will more likely have no problem trying something they have a part in helping create in the kitchen. Your child will gain knowledge in a healthy, yet yummy way! Along with some basic cooking terminology and confidence in everyday healthy food choices, your child can carry what is taught for a life time! Let’s get cooking!

3-D Adventure: Sculpting and Ceramics
Let’s Draw and Paint!
Location: Harlingen Community Center (201 E. Madison) Students will develop drawing skills through observation. Students will focus on themselves and the world around them. Lessons will include sketching and painting with contour and gesture lines, drawing and painting a self-portrait, favorite animal sketches, figure drawings in motion, and perspective drawings of the city around you. They will learn about gradation value scales through proper shading and layering and blending with color to add 3-dimensionality to their work. Dixieland Park Disc Golf 2501 S. Dixieland Rd
Come enjoy our 18 hole Disc Golf course at Dixieland Park. With moderate hills and trees plus a lot of wind, this is a great park to come practice

Borrow a bike — Enter the bike’s number into the Zagster app to get your code. Enter the code into the lockbox to access the U-Lock key.

Ride, Return, and Lock — Have fun and stay safe. Lock up the bike if you want to take a quick break. When you are done lock you bike to a Bike Share RGV Zagster station, end your ride in the app and close the lockbox firmly.

Pricing — There are three forms of memberships that you can choose from; annual, monthly, and hourly. There is also an annual membership fee of $35.00.
