Kentucky Man Who Falsely Yelled ‘Bingo’ Ordered not to Say the Word for 6 Months

Comparing the act to yelling “fire” in a crowded theater, a police officer cited an 18-year-old man for falsely yelling “bingo” in a Covington, Ky., parlor, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Austin Whaley was slapped with a disorderly conduct charge and then ordered by a judge last week to refrain from uttering the word “bingo” for six months.

According to the report, Whaley entered a bingo hall packed with mostly elderly women on Feb. 6. The man yelled “bingo,” and his actions disrupted the game for several minutes because players thought they had lost, the paper wrote.

Whaley was asked to apologize to the angry patrons, but his refusal prompted an officer to act. (IG)

Camels with Botox Disqualified from a Camel Beauty Pageant Saudi Arabia – A dozen camels were disqualified from this year’s Saudi camel beauty contest because they had Botox injected in their faces to make them more beautiful.

With a pageant prize money total of around $57 million, it is no surprise that around 30,000 camels have been entered in the show The month-long event has already run into controversy.

The camels are in it not only to win a competition, but to

attract buyers. Injecting Botox means the camel is more likely to win a lot of money or be sold for a larger sum.

“The camel is a symbol of Saudi Arabia,” the chief judge of the show, Fawzan al-Madi, said. “We used to preserve it {\ [the show} out of necessity. Now, we preserve it as a pastime.”

Around 300,000 people have reportedly attended the event. It begans in march and includes not only the beauty pageant, but also camel racing, and auctions.

The possibility that a Botox-injected camel could win big money or go to a buyer for a high price, has worried some attendees of the event, who want beauty pageant cheats to be punished just as those who give performanceenhancing drugs to a racing camel are punished. In camel racing, whoever is using drugs is fined about 50,000 dirhams (around $13,600.00). (IG)

What better way to do it than bring in some new equipment?

Callaghan Bingo in San Antonio is currently playing with new computers at the hall! We started with testing 100 brand new units. New hardware, new software. The tests seem to be going fine and we are expecting Callaghan to fully switch to using only new computers by April … or about now that you are reading this.

We plan to have all Golden Bingo Family halls eventually equipped with new computers, but it will be a slow transition. If you are interested to experience this new software, come on over to Callaghan Bingo and grab your hands on one. If the hall is not fully equipped with new units, they will be handed out on a first come – first serve basis.

A Corpus Christi well-known establishment that has been around since 1983 time and time again shows why they are the premier in service and food.

In March we ventured to our Corpus Christi locations and spoiled ourselves with a fantastic meal at Water Street Oyster Bar that serves the freshest gulf seafood with top notch Texas charm. The nearly forty minute wait is the only thing that disappointed on a Sunday night, but we were quickly reminded why. The wonderfully soft French bread with garlic butter presented to perfection. We began our meal with tempura fried vegetables, edamame, and calamari. Think that this place is too upscale for children? Think again.

They welcomed my two little bingo players with corn dogs and tater tots.

The adults opted for something a bit more mature – blackened redfish with asparagus and vegetable sushi and cucumber salad.

Can you really be healthier just by being happy?

I have to admit, I went down a rabbit hole while researching this topic. It seemed too good to be true. Can one really improve their health just by being happy? All signs point to yes.

This all began a few years ago when I picked up a book on meditation 10 Percent Happier

by Dan Harris (ABC News anchor). I went in as a skeptic Fate would have it, he wrote a follow up Meditation for Fidgety Skeptics cowritten with Jeff Warren. It just seemed too good to be true. Could you really breathe in happiness?

I had a talk with a friend on how we’ve lost the ability to just sit and relax. We are always at the will of our smart devices, the likes, the follows on social media, the texts and emails – but are we any happier? And better yet, has this change and our definition of happy influenced our health? I went digging through the Internet. Is there something behind the influence of happy and health?

Laura Kubzansky, a professor of society, human development, and health at Harvard Medical School, found that as early as the age of 7 can we see the benefits of happiness and health. They tracked 7 year olds for 30 years and found they had fewer illnesses and their optimism cut the risk of coronary heart disease by half. Need an even bigger reason? Lisa Berkman, director of the Harvard Center for Population and Development Studies, co-authored a seminal study of almost 7,000 adults in California.

HOW TO REPURPOSE

Plastic Easter Eggs

There is nothing I love more then reusing or recycling items and turning them into something amazing! Every easter I find it kind of depressing throwing away all of the beautiful eggs we spend so much time decorating. This year I wanted to find a way to beautify those plastic eggs so we can keep using them for years to come.

Simple Floral Ombre Easter Egg Wreath

You will need: - Wreath Form - Paper Streamers - Hot Glue & Glue Sticks

- Plastic Eggs - Artificial Flowers

STEP 1 Wrap the wreath form with paper streamers (I used pink) by securing the starting end with a dab of hot glue and then pulling taut and overlapping the streamers as you wrap them around. Finish with another dab of hot glue. For a sturdier covering, you can use a thick ribbon instead of the paper streamers.

STEP 2 Start adding plastic eggs to the wreath with a generous dab of hot glue. Mix up the colors and positions of the eggs for a random effect. Make sure to add eggs to the inside and outside edges of the wreath as well! Keep the wreath flat on a table as you add eggs so that the eggs don’t extend past the back of the wreath form, ensuring the finished wreath will lay flat against a door or wall.

STEP 3 Cut your artificial flowers from their stems using a wire cutter. Leave an inch of the stem at the end of the bloom. This will make it easy to poke it into the wreath form.

STEP 4 Add your flowers to the wreath by poking them straight into the foam. No glue needed! Use the flowers to fill in any gaps between the eggs, scattering them around the wreath until you get the look you want. A mix of rosebuds, cherry blossoms, and pussy willow and around 75 plastic eggs create the lush look of this wreath!

STEP 5 Hang your new pretty wreath on your door to welcome in spring! Wreaths are one of my most favorite crafts to make.

TIP: This is a delicate wreath, so I recommend using it on a covered porch or keeping it indoors. It would look great over a mantel!

Baker’s Twine Easter Eggs

STEP 1 Pick a cheap plastic Easter egg in a similar color as your baker’s twine.

The egg will inevitably show through in places so it’s best to have them close. Hot glue the end of your baker’s twine to one end of the egg.

Allow to dry.

STEP 3 Continue mod podging and wrapping until you reach the point where the egg begins to taper again TIP: After a few frustrating attempts at wrapping the egg continuously from one end to the other, I began to realize it is almost impossible to keep the twine close and even when going from the fatter part of the egg to the skinnier. It works like a charm from skinny to fat, but vice versa? Fuggetaboutit. I finally figured out that I needed to just cut the twine mid-way down the egg and begin again from the other end.

STEP 4 Mod podge and wrap until you meet the other half of your wrapped twine, trim it off and snuggle it down in there. Repeat with desired colors and end up with a basket full of baker’s twine cuteness!

Have you ever attempted a project that you didn’t think would work, but you had to try anyway? I did that at first when I tried painting the eggs with regular acrylic craft paint and the paint came right off. I went out and bought some Americana Chalky Paint, and it worked like a charm. {Plus, I had a coupon, so it didn’t cost much at all — cheap cheap!} We painted half of the eggs with Serene and the other half with Refreshing — gorgeous springy colors!

You can see the line in this picture, but the eggs closed better after the paint was completely dry.

After the second coat of paint was dry, we used a small brush dipped in brown paint, to add speckles around the eggs.

I used an empty egg carton to hold the eggs as we were painting them. We put the freshly painted sides of the eggs facing up so that they could dry without getting smudged. Then we just kept flipping them over until both sides were covered.

When all the eggs were dry, I piled them into two glass vases that I usually use on the mantel, and then I added some twine around the middle.

Wasn’t that simple? You can’t even see any lines in the eggs now. I love how this frugal little craft turned out.

Kura Revolving Sushi Bar This has become one of my favorite stops in Austin.

Luckily out of my visits I’ve only had about a ten minute wait once and the other times my groups were seated immediately.

Its a solid location that isn’t surrounded by much so it doesn’t feel so crowded.

It looks exactly like similar businesses I used to visit in Japan so the nostalgia rush is fun. There aren’t many conveyor belt sushi joints I’ve been able to find since being stateside. True to its roots, you’re not going to find the most extravagant selection of sushi but at $2.25 per plate, its still a deal with some tasty choices.

Another aspect I love is the tablet attached to each booth/seat, you can scroll through the entire menu from sushi, rolls, handrolls, and even some hot menu items like karaage and ramen (I love the shoyu!) and have them delivered on a separate conveyor belt directly to your table.

The only point I can really dock would be on the waitstaff, its really a roll of the dice from visit to visit.

They’re not available for much since they only serve drinks and clean up the few dishes that aren’t deposited directly into the booth but you have to flag them down for refills, they don’t really

check in on you.

The animations on the order screen are cute, you get a new little cut scene for every five plates deposited and a free gift after 15. If you’ve got friends from out of town its worth visiting.

Patty Mills signed a four-year, almost $50 million deal to stay with the Spurs in 2017.

Mills is the second indigenous Australian to play in the NBA and the first to win an NBA Championship.

He led all players in scoring, 21.2 ppg, during the 2012 Olympic games as part of the Australian National Team. Kevin Durant was second at 19.5 ppg.

He says the worst year he’s ever had was an injuryplagued 2009 when he broke his hand and later his foot.

Growing up, he was the ball boy for the Canberra Cannons of the National Basketball League (NBL).

Mills’ future coach at Saint Mary’s, David Patrick, played for the Cannons during that time and developed a relationship with the Mills family.
