The Canyon Lake area has more to offer than its clear sparkling lake. Just 20-30 minutes from New Braunfels, Gruene and 45-50 minutes from San Antonio or Austin. The area’s stunning Hill Country views and tranquil Guadalupe River combine to make it an appealing location for just about anyone.

Because the lake area is not incorporated, the actual cost to own a home is slightly less as there are no city taxes. This equates to lower mortgage payments compared to a home located within a municipality.

Additionally, home buyers will discover that many of the home sites sit on much larger lots than in a typical suburban community.

Between the affordability, quality of life, abundance of recreational activities and being centrally located between several vibrant cities, Canyon Lake is a great destination for relocation.

Texas Hill Country EGG NOG

4 cups milk 5 whole cloves ½ tsp. of vanilla extract 2 cinnamon sticks 12 egg yolks

1 cups sugar 4 cups light cream 2 teaspoons vanilla extract ½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice 2 cups light rum (optional) ½ gallon Blue Bell Pecan Pralines ‘n Cream

Combine milk, cloves, ½ tsp vanilla and cinnamon sticks in sauce pan. Heat over lowest setting. Bring to a slow boil; about 5 min.

Beat the egg yolks by themselves until they are lighter in color.

In large bowl, combine egg yolks and sugar. Whisk until fluffy. Slowly add hot milk mixture in to eggs.

Pour mixture back in to saucepan. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until thick. DO NOT BOIL. Strain to remove cinnamon sticks and cloves. Let cool for 1 hour.

Stir in cream, 2 teaspoons of vanilla, rum (optional), and pumpkin pie spice. Refrigerate overnight.

Add a ½ gallon of pecan Pralines ‘n Cream just before serving.
