A community and its culture go hand in hand. The San Angelo Symphony is honored to serve the Concho Valley with diverse performances and programs that reach audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Our ongoing season will explore the transformative power of music and serve to enhance our area’s cultural presence. The Symphony offers 6 subscription series concerts including performances by the 2013 Van Cliburn prize winner and pianist, Sean Chen and critically acclaimed violinist, Yulia Iglinova as well as the beloved Christmas Pops performance featuring local favorite Case Hardin. In a unique event, our season will spot light a “Side by Side” concert in February as our symphony orchestra pairs with members of the “Strings Program” from Angelo State University and we will finish on a high note as we welcome Disney In Concert at the much anticipated First Financial Bank Family Pops Concert. The Symphony’s artistic, education and civic programs would not be possible without the generous support of individuals and businesses in our area. Your contribution promotes the growth of the performing arts and music education within our community. SAN ANGELO CIVIC BALLET’S 2015-2016 Season includes five productions including a full ballet academy curriculum, creative workshops and outreach programs to allow unprecedented public access to art and dance in San Angelo. October 2-3: “Mod Vaude,” a Vaudevillian tribute to the Texas Theatre” - with live music led by Westen Borghesi of the, “White Ghost Shivers,” and original choreography by Artistic Director Gina Patterson. December 18-20: The 32nd annual production of, “The Nutcracker.” March 4-5: “Seven Princesses… and a Bear” - with new choreography by Ballet Mistress Suzanne Smith and an original score from Composer Scott Gendel. May 13-14: “We Are…” – A new collaborative venture with singer/songwriter/composers, visual artists, and other guest artists from Nashville who will bring a taste of Music City to San Angelo. This production will be a culmination of a year-long process of collaboration between the ballet students and guest artists. May 19-20: Spring Student Showcase - We provide each of our students the opportunity to perform. This showcase involves every level, from creative movement through to pre-professional. We invite you to join us and be swept away by art this season!
