The City of Lockhart/Caldwell County Emergency Medical Services is mission-focused by providing prompt, courteous, and meaningful care to the citizens of Lockhart and Caldwell County. EMS responds to approximately 3,000 9-1-1 calls per year. Since the inception of The City of Lockhart/Caldwell County EMS system in 1987 and in 2013 becoming a proud member of Seton Healthcare Family, EMS has provided outstanding medical care to tens of thousands of its citizens and visitors. We staff two fulltime ambulances with highly skilled and motivated Paramedics. We offer the most advanced and innovative care around and are supported by our new Medical Director, Dr. Ory Barak, MD. Dr. Barak is a Certified Emergency Medicine Physician and he began his EMS Directorship for the City of Lockhart and Caldwell County in July 2015. We have mutually rewarding relationships with the City of Lockhart Police and Fire Department, The City of Luling Police, Fire, and EMS departments, the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, and all of the Volunteer Fire Departments inside the County. With-
out their support and dedication to this community we would not be able to provide the kind of care we do. We also have established mutual aid with the surrounding counties: Bastrop, Hays, Travis, and Guadalupe. So, if there is ever a time when we need extra support or they need extra support from us we will be able to help each other. These relationships ensure that no one in this community or the communities that surround us will ever go without having an ambulance to respond to an emergency. We take pride in what we do day in and day out. The ambulances are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If there is ever a medical emergency you can count on us being there for you. Care-A-Van keeps local kids healthy The Children's Care-a-Van is a full-service mobile health unit that brings healthcare services directly to children in schools and other community locations. The Carea-Van, actually a specially outfitted recreational vehicle, offers affordable health care for children ages newborn through 21. The Care-a-Van provide treatment for minor illnesses, well child exams, immunizations, chronic illness management, sports physicals and social services including CHIP assistance. The Care-a-Van is open year-round to provide health care for area children. Walkins are accepted, but appointments are strongly encouraged to reduce wait times.
