This fall digitalKENTE® design studio, your purveyor of digital dopeness, is partnering with The Blck Solstice to host a fashion showcase at the CityPoint Loft that highlights the creativity in apparel and accessory design living within Bronzeville. With this fashion event, during Chicago Fashion Week and Open House Chicago, we are honoring the legacy of this historic neighborhood and investing in its future.
This event aims to reawaken Bronzeville’s rich history of creativity and style, while spotlighting emerging talent, celebrating Black artistry, and inspiring a new generation to carry the torch.
We’re bringing the community together for an evening of celebration and excellence in craft while celebrating the historic contributions of African Americans from this neighborhood.

Our Host
Discopoet Khari B. is a spoken word musician and educator working internationally as both a performer and instructor in the literary arts. With a solid reputation for delivering powerful performances with intense instrumental accompaniment, Khari B.’s energetic nature is inextricably tied to growing up in Chicago’s House music culture and being the son of two educators, one being acclaimed woodwindist, Mwata Bowden. His inspirational and mentally rousing work has been recognized, hailed, and requested across the globe, staking out a place in the hearts of audiences and appealing to a diverse legion of fans, spanning multiple ages and ethnic groups. @discopoetry
