Summer Meal Distribution The Valley View Independent School District will be distributing free nutritious summer meals at the locations, dates, and times listed below. Hot meals will be distributed on Mondays and Wednesdays. Cold meals will be distributed Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students must be 18 years and younger. All Thursdays, students will receive a weekend meal bag. *The PEBT program applications will be opening in June 2021. The Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) is part of the U.S. government response to the COVID-19 pandemic. ... Through P-EBT, eligible school children receive temporary emergency nutrition benefits loaded on EBT cards that are used to purchase food. Please check Valley View Webpage for more information. Summer Reading

Summer reading may help bridge learning gaps created through weeks of classroom instruction losses. Reading builds literacy skills, supports child development, and renders countless other benefits according to research. Reading stories activates the language center of the brain as children infer story lines and build vocabulary as they bring meaning to unfamiliar words. Brain development is a result of brain activity and reading causes neural connectors to activite in order to create meaning from written text. Reading also promotes verbal and visual literacy by allowing children to interpret information presented in letters and create visual images of characters and settings. Reading strengthens language and visual literacy skills, both necessary for success in school as students navigate through digital classrooms and the 21st Century world. Let’s help our students be better prepared for school with summer reading!

ALL-INCLUSIVE PARK IN HIDALGO COUNTY HERE AT VALLEY VIEW ISD!

Valley View ISD and surrounding communities had been wanting and hoping for a place with certain accessibilities for their children to play. County Precinct 2, under the guidance of Commissioner Eduardo “Eddie” Cantu, in partnership with the Valley View ISD finally made the All-Inclusive Park dream a reality. The park includes fully accessible swings, gliders, merry go rounds, sensory walls, roller slides, and a splash pad for all children with all abilities who require proper wheelchair access and/or equipment. Valley View ISD welcomes the community to visit the park. School districts and organizations may attend with prior arrangements or reservations during weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The All-Inclusive Park is open to the public from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. On weekends and school holidays, the park is open to the public from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. For All-Inclusive Park reservations and more information, please contact us at (956) 340-1080.

Parque inclusivo en el Condado de Hidalgo en Valley View ISD! La comunidad y Valley View ISD han estado queriendo y esperando un lugar con ciertas accesibilidades para que sus hijo/as jueguen. El recinto del condado 2, bajo la guía del comisionado Eduardo “Eddie” Cantu, en consorcio con Valley View ISD finalmente han podido hacer realidad el Parque Inclusivo. El parque incluye accesibilidad completa a columpios, planeadores, ronda sensorial, rodillos deslizadores, y almohadillas de salpicaduras para niños con habilidades que requieren acceso a silla de rueda y/o otro equipo. La comunidad de Valley View ISD le da la bienvenida a la comunidad a visitar el parque. Distritos escolares y organizaciones pueden asistir con arreglos previos o reservar entre semana de 8:00 a.m. a 4:30 p.m. El parque inclusivo está abierto al público de 4:30 p.m. a 8:00 p.m. de Lunes a Viernes.
