Die Zugspitze

The Zugspitze

Die Zugspitze ist mit 2.962 m der höchste Berg Deutschlands und einer der Parade-Aussichtsberge der Alpen. Bei gutem Wetter genießt man den 4-Länder-Fernblick in die Zwei- und Dreitausender (und den einzigen Viertausender) der Ostalpen. Direkt auf den Gipfel gelangt man von Ehrwald aus mit der Tiroler Zugspitzbahn. Bereits die Auffahrt in den 100-Personen fassenden Panorama-Kabinen ist ein Erlebnis. Nahezu lautlos gleitet man den Berg empor und überwindet dabei einen Höhenunterschied von 1.725 m in nur 10 Minuten.

The Zugspitze is the highest mountain in Germany and offers some of the best views of the Alps. On fine days visitors can see mountain peaks ranging from 2,000 m up to 4,000 m and across 4 countries reaching as far as the Eastern Alps. One can travel directly to the summit via the Tiroler Zugspitzbahn from Ehrwald. The journey in the 100 passenger capacity cabin with it‘s panoramic views is an amazing experience. The cable car glides up the mountain, climbing 1,725 meters in just 10 minutes.

Hinauf als Bergsteiger Up as a mountain climber

Klettersteig „Stopselzieher“: Der „Westweg“ verläuft von der Talsta-

tion der Tiroler Zugspitzbahn über die Wiener Neustädter Hütte und den Klettersteig „Stopselzieher“ (Schwierigkeitsgrad A/B) auf den Gipfel.

Nur mit entsprechender Klettersteigausrüstung! Dauer: ca. 5 Stunden.

Via Ferrata “Stopselzieher”: The “Westweg” path runs from the valley station of the Tiroler Zugspitzbahn via the Wiener Neustädter Hut and the ‘Stopselzieher’ fixed rope climbing route (level of difficulty A/B) to the summit.

Only with adequate climbing equipment! Duration: approx. 5 hours.

Bitte beachten: Sie befinden sich in alpinem Gelände. Die Touren verlangen berggerechte Ausrüstung, Schwindelfreiheit, Trittsicherheit und eine entsprechende Kondition, sowie geeignete Karten und Führer!

Gatterl-Tour: Mit der Tiroler Zugspitzbahn auf den Zugspitz-Gipfel, mit der Gletscherbahn aufs Zugspitzplatt. Wanderung über das Zugspitzplatt zur Knorrhütte, weiter zum „Gatterl“ – Hochfeldernalm – Ehrwalder Alm – mit der Ehrwalder Almbahn zurück ins Tal, mit dem Bus zurück zur Talstation der Tiroler Zugspitzbahn. Gehzeit: ca. 5 Stunden.

Gatterl-Tour: Take the Tiroler Zugspitzbahn up to the summit of

Zugspitze and then the glacier cable car to Zugspitzplatt. Hike over the Zugspitzplatt to the Knorr Hut and then onto the “Gatterl” high alpine pastures, the Hochfeldernalm and then the Ehrwalder Alm. The Ehrwalder Almbahn cable car will take you back to the valley and a bus will take you back to the valley station of the Tiroler Zugspitzbahn. Duration: approximately 5 hours.

TIPP: Mit dem Wanderticket „Gatterl“ benutzt man 3 Seilbahnen zum günstigen Preis.

Barrierefrei / Easy access Auch für Familien mit Kinderwagen und für Menschen mit Handicap ist der Besuch der Zugspitze kein Problem. Mit Aufzügen an der Tal- und Bergstation erreicht man alle Stockwerke, inkl. Museum sowie das Behinderten-WC stufenlos. Der Ein- & Ausstieg in die Großraumkabine ist ebenfalls völlig mühelos.

Families with prams and physically challenged visitors will have no problem visiting the Zugspitze. All levels and the toilet facility for the disabled can be accessed by elevator at the valley and mountain stations. The cable car cabins are also easy to enter and exit.

Taking the A95: Munich - Garmisch-Partenkirchen to Ehrwald –ca. 110 km from Munich + 1,5 h travel time. Coming from the south over the Fernpass B179 to Ehrwald – ca. 70 km from Innsbruck + 1,5 h travel time.

Parken / Parking An der Talstation der Tiroler Zugspitzbahn stehen ausreichend Tagesparkplätze für PKW und Busse für unsere Seilbahngäste zur Verfügung. / Day car parking spaces are available at the valley station of the Tiroler Zugspitzbahn for cars and buses of our cable car guests.

Busanbindung / Bus connections Während der Sommer- und der Wintersaison verkehrt in der Tiroler Zugspitz Arena ein Bus mit Anbindung an die Tiroler Zugspitzbahn.

There is a shuttle bus route in the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena in summer and winter seasons with connections to the Tiroler Zugspitzbahn.
