Thursday, 28 February 2019 The tour begins with the ‘Tahara’a view point’, on the east coast, where you may take some nice pictures of Moorea. Venus Point, situated in the north on the edge of Matavai Bay, was the special scene of successive landings of European navigators. James Cook gave the name Venus in memory of his scientific trip to observe the planet. The Arahoho Blow Hole is a lavatube designed by liquid lava flowing under cold and hard lava and creating a channel. When waves crash against the rocks and enter in this channel, the result is a powerful sea water geyser that showers on lookers.

Visit the waterfalls, located at Faarumai in a luxuriant setting. Walk across a bamboo plantation and follow pretty trails. Go through Taravao, the strategic isthmus joining Tahiti Nui and Tahiti Iti, and have a lunch at the Gauguin Restaurant, before or after visiting the Gauguin Museum. The Gauguin Museum displays an amazing retrospective on the life and works of Paul Gauguin, the famous French artist who spent the last twelve years of his life on Tahiti and the Marquesas Islands. Make a stop at Vaipahi Garden, a place where you will see a little waterfall, some endemic tahitian flowers and other plants. Marae Arahurahu is a restored religious site dedicated to the ancient gods where important ceremonies used to take place.

Securing your booking A non-refundable deposit of 20% of your package price is required at the time of making the reservation, if the reservation is made more than 42 days prior to departure. Deposits exceeding 20% of your package price are required for certain escorted tours, rail journeys, cruises and exclusive island resort hotels. Your Travel Company consultant or travel agent will advise you of the required additional deposit at the time of making your reservation.

In addition to the standard deposit your airline reservations require payment in full to guarantee the reservation and the airfare. It is imperative that the names on your airline reservations match the names on your passports and as such you must provide a copy of the picture page of the passport for each traveller on the reservation.

The airline tickets sold to you often carry highly restricted rules, each airfare is different, please contact your Travel Company consultant for specific fare rules. Where we are in a position to do so, we will confirm your arrangements immediately upon receipt of the deposit so that your vacation is secured. TERMS & CONDITIONS Passports & Visa requirements

Baggage allowances

All passengers require a passport (valid for 3-6 months beyond the date of return) for entry into certain countries. It is the passenger’s responsibility to have a valid passport and the necessary visas for the countries being visited. US Passport holders do not require a visa to enter New Zealand, Fiji, Tahiti or Cook Islands. An Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) is required to enter Australia in addition to your passport if you originate from an ETA eligible country, otherwise a visa is required.

No two airlines follow the same baggage policy. As a rule, you are permitted the International baggage allowances (minimum 25 kilos) when all your flights are issued on the same coach ticket. If you have different airlines issued on separate tickets, different baggage allowances will apply on your trip. When travelling in premium economy, business and first class, additional baggage allowances will apply. In most cases your individual baggage allowance is clearly listed on your airline Eticket receipt or outlined in this itinerary. For smaller aircraft, should you have any questions please ask your Travel Company consultant. Note for certain small aircraft & helicopter transfers a restrictive baggage allowance will apply. In such cases your Travel Company consultant will advise you of the restrictions and in most cases baggage can be stored at the airport or operator’s departure location should your wish to.

Changes to your vacation Should you wish to make changes to your final travel itinerary you must notify us as soon as possible. Whilst we endeavour to assist we cannot guarantee we will be able to meet any such requests and cancellation of a previously confirmed service will be subject to the cancellation conditions set out below under “cancellation of your vacation”. Any amendments to an airline ticket departure date or routing will be subject to the airline amendment fees plus $75 per person. For certain airfares, changes cannot be made after reservations have been ticketed.

Cancellation of your vacation Cancellation of your trip must be received in writing. Your ground arrangements cancellation charges are calculated as at the date when the written cancellation is received by us and as a percentage of your package price excluding any travel insurance premiums which are generally non-refundable if you cancel. Seat assignments Where possible your Travel Company consultant will pre-assign complimentary seating when available. In many cases the airlines flying to Australia, New Zealand & the South Pacific no longer offer complimentary pre-assigned seating and seats can now be selected on the airline website. If you would like to pre-purchase seating for your flights please use the airline booking number listed on your flight itinerary/Eticket receipt and select seats and pay directly to the relevant airline. When selecting seats you will be given many options to consider besides standard seating such as extra legroom and exit rows. If you would like to receive pricing options to upgrade your seat to a Skycouch, premium economy or business class seat please contact your Travel Company consultant for an exact quote.

Frequent Flyer Mileage accrual Most airlines that fly to Australia, New Zealand & the South Pacific partner with US-based airlines to enable you to accrue mileage on a partner airline. Your Travel Company consultant can enter your frequent flyer number into your reservation but by doing so is not a guarantee of mileage accrual. Many airlines no longer pay mileage on the lowest coach booking classes. In many cases, no mileage will apply for sale fares and in most discounted coach class airfares the maximum mileage accrued is 50%. Premium economy, business class and first class reservations usually earn full and bonus mileage.

Travel Company does not take responsibility for the airlines policies for non-credit of mileage for certain airfare booking classes. Please ask your Travel Company consultant if you require more information.

Keeping informed on the move To keep informed of any possible flight schedule changes or cancellations whilst you travel we recommend downloading the Tripigo application if you travel with a Smartphone or tablet. We can use your preferred email address and you will receive email notifications from the airlines in regard to your flights. As well as flight notifications, the app provides many more features whilst travelling such as local airline contact numbers, directions to your departure airport and local weather conditions.
