By attending orientation, you will have the chance to explore the academic and extracurricular resources available for your student at the U of A. You will learn more about your student’s chosen major and new college home. And best of all, you will become our partner in helping your student succeed at the university. Continue to engage your student in conversations about academic expectations, time management, and how they plan to be involved on campus. You are our most important ally in ensuring your student’s success at the University of Arkansas.
When your student registered for orientation, he or she had the option to sign up to bring parents and guests. We also welcome parents and guests on a walk-in basis on the day of orientation. A $50 fee will be added to each student’s account for each guest over the age of 12 who attends orientation.

Immunization Records
Submit your immunization records to the Pat Walker Health Center.
Don’t forget!
A copy of your immunization records
Fill out the immunization (if not already turned in) compliance form located online at http://health.uark.edu/_resources/documents/ immunization-revised.pdf and follow the instructions. If you are unsure whether you submitted your records, contact the Pat Walker Health Center at 479-575-4451 or simply bring a copy with you to orientation. Failure to submit your records before you arrive at orientation could delay your registration for classes.

If you are staying on campus for a 2-day session, remember to pack bedding, toiletries, and anything else you may need for an overnight stay
Don’t forget! A government-issued photo ID is required in order to pick up your University ID.
AP Scores Have your AP Test scores sent to the Registrar’s Office. You may have already indicated on your AP exam paperwork that you wanted your results to be sent to the University of Arkansas. If you did not, it’s not too late. Call AP Services at 888-225-5427, and they can help you submit your test scores. Everyone is encouraged to complete the online Math Placement Exam. Completing the Math Placement Exam may allow you to take a higher level math course than your ACT/SAT scores would normally allow. It is also a good way to prepare for college-level math prior to the fall semester. Go to fulbright.uark.edu/departments/math/ undergraduate/math_placement_test.php to learn more about the Math Placement Exam. To access information regarding all placement tests, log onto UAConnect.uark.edu and access the testing tab under the Academics section.
Lodging & Accommodations Students Attending 2-day Sessions*
Family & Guests Attending Orientation*
On-campus housing is a complimentary and fun component of orientation for students attending 2-day sessions. We realize that some students may prefer to stay with family or other relatives during orientation.
While there are no on-campus accommodations for family and other guests during orientation, you may find local lodging options through the Fayetteville Visitor’s Bureau by visiting experiencefayetteville.com or calling 800-766-4626. When making reservations, parents and guests should mention they are attending New Student Orientation at the University of Arkansas to see if discounted rates are available.
If you are staying overnight on campus for a 2-day session, please be sure to bring your luggage and bedding with you to check-in. *No overnight accommodations are provided on campus for students during 1-day or August orientation sessions.

Parking is provided for orientation in the Garland Parking Garage. If you are being dropped off, please arrive at the Garland Parking Garage. (Directions on page 12) The top two floors of the garage have been designated by the University of Arkansas for orientation parking. Orientation mentors will be on hand to guide you from the Garland Parking Garage to student check-in.
Special Accommodations During Orientation We want your stay on campus to be as enjoyable as possible. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your visit more comfortable. After all, you are now part of the University of Arkansas family. Should you need special accommodations or assistance during any part of your orientation session this summer, please send an email to nso@uark.edu detailing what services you’ll need in order to fully participate in orientation.

During orientation you will get to know many orientation mentors. They are current University of Arkansas students who will introduce you to our campus community and guide you during orientation. Mentors are happy to answer any questions you may have about becoming a new student, and they are here to help with your transition to university life. Mentors will be on hand to answer questions and guide you around campus. They will also guide you from the parking garage to check-in (see page 12 for directions to the Garland Parking Garage). Our team of orientation staff is also here to help you every step of the way. If you have any questions, or would like more information, please let us know. • Take I-40 to I-49 North (Exit 12). • From I-49, take the Wedington Drive Exit (Exit 64).
• Turn right (east) on Wedington; drive east for 1.5 miles then turn right (south) on Garland Avenue.
• Turn left (east) on Cleveland Street, and the entrance to the Garland Parking Garage will be on your right.
FROM THE NORTH
• After Bella Vista, take I-49 South to Fayetteville.
• From I-49, take the Hwy 112 Exit (Exit 66).
• Turn right on Hwy 112, and travel south for 2 miles until you reach the northern entrance of campus.
• Turn left (east) on Cleveland Street, and the entrance to the Garland Parking Garage will be on your right.
