Traditions Verizon Ballroom Reunite with family and guests, and enjoy the company of new friends, as we present the rich academic, cultural, historical, and athletic traditions that make the University of Arkansas so special.

Parent & Guest Check-In Arkansas Union Living Room Parents, family members, and guests will check in at the Arkansas Union Living Room.

5:45 – 6:30 p.m.

Campus Card Campus Card Office An orientation mentor will guide you to the campus card office to request your student ID card. You will pick up your ID card on day 2 between 7:30-9:00 a.m. in the Arkansas Union Living Room.

Meet your orientation mentors, get to know other new students, ask questions, and participate in fun activities.

Visit with more than 50 campus offices gathered in the Arkansas Union to provide valuable information and answer questions.

University Welcome Verizon Ballroom Receive a warm welcome from students and faculty on behalf of the University of Arkansas community.

Navigating New Territories Verizon Ballroom This session is designed to provide you with information that will help you and your guests successfully navigate the University of Arkansas, with representatives from: Enrollment Services

Title IX Student Standards & Conduct Pat Walker Health Center U of A Police Department Transit & Parking 4:50 – 5:10 p.m.

Destination: Fayetteville Verizon Ballroom Learn about your new college home with representatives from the Housing Office or Off-Campus Student Services.

Transitions for Parents Verizon Ballroom During this session, Parent & Family Programs will discuss key topics for a successful transition for you and your students. Topics will include homesickness, campus involvement, student conduct, and the Parent Partnership Association. An interactive panel will also provide insight from students that serve as Parent Ambassadors.

Information Exchange International Connections Lounge

Small Group Meeting for Students Verizon Ballroom

6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Dinner Brough Commons Dining Hall 7:30 – 8:45 p.m.

Student Zone Verizon Ballroom Parent Zone Union Theatre During this split session, parents will hear from orientation mentors regarding the transition to college, meet other parents, and learn about technology on campus from the U of A Computer Store staff. Students will have the chance to interact with current students and discuss topics such as housing, student conduct, campus life, and transitioning to college.

The session also addresses student safety at the University of Arkansas, including campus resources dedicated to recognizing and preventing violence on campus.

8:45 – 10:30 p.m. Evening Programs Presents: Hog-A-Palooza Arkansas Union Enjoy the chance to meet other new students during an evening of fun activities in our student technology center and Union patio, with food and music.

Housing Check-Out Maple Hill South If you stay overnight on campus, check out of your room at the Maple Hill South front desk by 8:00 a.m.

Continental Breakfast* Arkansas Union Living Room Enjoy a selection of fresh fruit, pastries, juices, and coffee, courtesy of Chartwells. Breakfast will be served in front of the fireplace in the Arkansas Union Living Room.

Campus Tours* Arkansas Union Living Room

Do you have financial or student account questions or concerns? The Treasurer’s office will help you navigate your student account from payments to refunds and everything in between!

Campus tours will leave at 7:30. and again at 8:15 a.m.

7:30 and 8:15 a.m. University Housing Showroom Tours* Arkansas Union Living Room Visit residence hall rooms during housing tours leaving at 7:30 and 8:15 a.m.

The Honors College Experience* Arkansas Union Theatre Learn about the opportunities available to all honors students, including study abroad and research grants. Honors College representatives will share experiences of discovery, creativity, and service. This session is for students admitted into the Honors College and for those interested in joining the Honors College.

Academic Success Verizon Ballroom The Office of Graduation and Retention will highlight Title IX and essential firstyear success tips from CLASS+, University Libraries, and Academic Integrity.

U of A Academic Scholarships* Arkansas Union Theatre This session will provide information for University of Arkansas freshman academic scholarship recipients, as well as information about scholarship opportunities that will be available during your sophomore year and beyond.

It’s Greek to Me

The Office of Nationally Competitive Awards helps University of Arkansas students compete for the nation’s most prestigious awards, including the Rhodes, Goldwater, and Truman Scholarships. Come learn how our students have made the most of their undergraduate experiences and gone on to graduate studies at top institutions across the country and around the globe.

Being a part of a Greek organization provides opportunities for students to participate in activities that will enhance their personal development, promote academic success, and advance leadership skills.

Students and staff will be available to answer questions about Greek organizations.

We will also share information about our fraternity & sorority recruitment, as well as the new membership intake process.

Connecting for Success College is a great opportunity to engage with new people and perspectives. The Center for Multicultural and Diversity Education supports academic success and helps students connect with the campus community from day one to graduation. In this session you’ll learn about the Academic Enrichment Program, a learning and leadership support system that embraces diversity, discovery, and achievement.

Hogs Abroad Get involved outside the classroom through study abroad, service learning, internships, and co-op programs. Current students and staff from the Study Abroad Office will discuss their experiences and answer questions from students and guests.

Money Matters Representatives from the Treasurer’s Office will assist students and parents in understanding billing, payment and refund options, parent authorizations, and student account information available through UAConnect.

Representatives from Financial Aid will also talk about applying for federal and state aid, managing student loans, and navigating UAConnect financial aid information.

Going Beyond Your Orientation Experience

Getting involved on campus is an important aspect of your college experience. Staff from Student Affairs will discuss how to get involved on campus through one of the many Registered Student Organizations, the Center for Community Engagement, University Programs, Friday Night Live, and more.

Find out ways to complete your transition to the University of Arkansas by connecting with peers, gaining tools for success, and having fun! Come learn about R.O.C.K. Camp, Hog W.I.L.D. Welcome Weeks, and Arkansas Kickstart with New Student & Family Programs!

Razorback Nation Razorback Athletics, the Razorback Foundation, and the Alumni Association come together to tell students how to obtain their All-Access Pass to Razorback sporting events and get connected on campus! Hear directly from students and staff about how to get involved on campus with exclusive opportunities that the Arkansas Alumni Association and Razorback Foundation offer to students.

RECreate Yourself with UREC University Recreation offers two indoor fitness facilities, group fitness classes, a 50M competition pool, climbing and bouldering walls, an outdoor field complex, outdoor equipment rental center, and bike shop, as well as intramural and club sports. Students who visit our facilities at least twice a week have higher GPAs than those who do not.

Student Technology Center Arkansas Union Third Floor The Student Technology Center features a digital media lab, a technology lounge for social and collaborative computing, equipment check-out, and an extensive gaming studio. In the digital media lab, students can edit audio and video and develop multimedia and web projects.
