Alma Mater In 1909, Brodie Payne, an alumnus of the University of Arkansas, submitted his song to an ongoing competition to find a University song and won first prize. Henry D. Tovey, who was the director of the Glee Club at that time, set the song to music. In 1931, the University College Song Association in New York reviewed a collection of 500 college tunes, and the U of A Alma Mater was judged to be one of the 25 best college songs in the United States.

Check-In Food Court Check in with our staff and receive your orientation materials.

Campus Card Campus Card Office An orientation mentor will guide you to the campus card office to request your student ID card. You will pick up your ID card in the Arkansas Union Campus Card office in the afternoon after you register for your classes.

Information Exchange International Connections Lounge

10:00 – 10:15 a.m.

Mentors will escort attendees to selected college sessions

10:15 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

College Information, Lunch, Academic Advising, and Registration Learn more about the major and college you have selected. You will meet with representatives from your college and explore ways to enhance your education.

Students will meet with an academic advisor and register for classes.

Visit with more than 50 campus offices gathered in the Arkansas Union to provide valuable information and answer questions.

University Technology Needs

The Office of Nationally Competitive Awards helps University of Arkansas students compete for the nation’s most prestigious awards, including the Rhodes, Goldwater, and Truman Scholarships. Come learn how our students have made the most of their undergraduate experiences and gone on to graduate studies at top institutions across the country and around the globe.

Getting involved on campus is an important aspect of your college experience. Staff from Student Affairs will discuss how to get involved on campus through one of the many Registered Student Organizations, the Center for Community Engagement, University Programs, Friday Night Live, and more.

Learn where to get help with technology on campus, what your student’s technology requirements are, and what the U of A Computer Store offers at academic prices that meets those requirements.

It’s Greek to Me

Representatives from the Scholarship Office will provide information for U of A freshman academic scholarship recipients, as well as information about scholarship opportunities available during your sophomore year and beyond.

Connecting for Success College is a great opportunity to engage with new people and perspectives. The Center for Multicultural and Diversity Education supports academic success and helps students connect with the campus community from day one to graduation. In this session you’ll learn about the Academic Enrichment Program, a learning and leadership support system that embraces diversity, discovery, and achievement.

Hogs Abroad Get involved outside the classroom through study abroad, service learning, internships, and co-op programs. Current students and staff from the Study Abroad Office will discuss their experiences and answer questions from students and guests!

The Honors College Experience Learn about the opportunities available to all honors students, including study abroad and research grants. Honors College representatives will share experiences of discovery, creativity, and service. This session is for students admitted into the Honors College and for those interested in joining the Honors College.

Being a part of a Greek organization provides opportunities for students to participate in activities that will enhance their personal development, promote academic success, and advance leadership skills. Students and staff will be available to answer questions about Greek organizations. We will also share information about our fraternity & sorority recruitment, as well as the new membership intake process.

Money Matters Representatives from the Treasurer’s Office will assist students and parents in understanding billing, payment and refund options, parent authorizations, and student account information available through UAConnect. Representatives from Financial Aid will also talk about applying for federal and state aid, managing student loans, and navigating UAConnect financial aid information.

Razorback Nation Razorback Athletics, the Razorback Foundation, and the Alumni Association come together to tell students how to obtain their All-Access Pass to Razorback sporting events and get connected on campus! Hear directly from students and staff about how to get involved on campus with exclusive opportunities that the Arkansas Alumni Association and Razorback Foundation offer to students.

RECreate Yourself with UREC University Recreation offers two indoor fitness facilities, group fitness classes, a 50M competition pool, climbing and bouldering walls, outdoor field complex, outdoor equipment rental center, and bike shop, as well as intramural and club sports. Students who visit our facilities at least twice a week have higher GPAs than those who do not. Why wait? Start strong!
