What about safety at the U of A? There are many programs in place contributing to our great campus safety record. Campus is equipped with the “Walk of Lights” for easy night visibility, and students who wish to have a walking escort can contact Razorback Patrol from 6 p.m. to midnight, Sundays through Thursdays. UAPD officers are always available for assistance. The Pat Walker Health Center plays a major role in teaching students safety strategies. Programs focus on risk reduction, personal safety, and the safety of others.

Do I need my own car? Some students choose to bring a car to campus. If you do so, you will need to purchase a parking permit to park on campus. For transportation around campus and Fayetteville, the Razorback Transit System is the choice of many students, and the service is free to ride. Razorback Transit serves the entire campus and also provides access to supermarkets, local banks, and the NW Arkansas Mall.
