Cat -a s t r o p h e Ave r t e d Nolan Burleson, Diamond?s city manager for Portland & Vancouver, was checking on the Cherry Street Garage when he heard the cry of a kitty. A bit of detective work led him to a latched supply closet, where he found the cat malnourished and desperate for affection. ?I felt concerned for how long it had been in there,? says Burleson. ?It might have been days.? Animal Control was four hours from coming, so Burleson and other Diamond managers watched over the cat in shifts, bringing it food and water. Once the cat was determined to be a stray, the call went out for a home willing to welcome the errant feline. Within two hours, he had a forever home. Now the cat, dubbed ?Phil,?lives in luxury. As you can see from this (adorable) photo, Phil is now doing great!
