omo será o seu Natal? Tropical ou passado à lareira, com neve no exterior e o ruído da lenha a crepitar no interior? Possivelmente a esta altura já começou a correr na maratona da época, prova disputada entre as luzes cintilantes que piscam, enchendo de magia cidades de todo o mundo. É apenas um começo porque logo depois arranca o corrupio para preparar a chegada do Ano Novo, repleto de desafios e de ainda mais expectativas. Sempre sem esquecer os valores da tolerância, da solidariedade, do amor recíproco e da união em família, nas páginas desta edição da Diamond Luxury Culture Magazine passamos em revista sonhos de luxo prontos para se tornarem reais. Os reis magos apresentam-se de Bugatti Divo, o superdesportivo mais ágil e dinâmico alguma vez criado pela marca de Molsheim, em França. Acostumados a percorrer longas distâncias, Belchior, Baltasar e Gaspar não foram guiados por uma estrela mas passaram por Macau, ainda que por lá o calendário das festividades seja diferente. Foi na cidade chinesa que nasceu um novo colosso da hotelaria mundial, que transformou por completo o skyline da região. O hotel “Morpheus” é obra da lendária Zaha Hadid e do escritório de arquitectos que continua a perpetuar o seu nome em todo o mundo. Se estiver por Itália, uma mesa de Natal não é uma verdadeira mesa se não tiver um “panettone.” A Dolce&Gabbana pensou nisso e juntou-se à Fiasconaro, mestre na arte da pastelaria, para desenvolver um doce com ingredientes da Sicília, no sul do país, produzido em duas versões. Poderá sempre matar a sede como o licor Disaronno, que este ano se veste de Trussardi. Ou com o clássico champanhe Néctar Imperial Rosé, da Moët & Chandon, label para a qual o director artístico de vestuário masculino da Louis Vuitton, Virgil Abloh, desenvolveu uma garrafa especial. É perfeita para o Natal e para a contagem descrente para as doze badaladas, se possível com um relógio Montblanc ao pulso.

ufam os tambores, afinam-se as gargantas, os passos de dança, os malabarismos e retoca-se a maquilhagem para o “Fashion Freak Show”, em cartaz no Folies-Bergère. Como num desfile de moda de alta-costura, mas repleto de sátira, começa a viagem por um mundo carnavalesco feito de “mariniéres”, de plumas, kilts, corpos andróginos definidos, roupas extravagantes e de um icónico sutiã de peitos pontudos com corset. Madonna, a musa de Jean-Paul Gaultier, usou o “soutien-gorge” e fez como que ficasse para a história. Não o vestiu novamente para a estreia do espectáculo do amigo de longa data, em Paris, mas viu-o exibir-se sedutoramente, a partir da primeira fila, onde pôde testemunhar mais uma veia criativa de Gaultier. O “enfant terrible” da moda francesa, que já se auto-intitula “vieillard terrible” (velho terrível), está de volta, mais experiente e, dizem, ainda mais “terrible.” Ausente da Paris Fashion Week desde que fechou a linha de prêt-à-porter, levou dois anos a preparar esta revista, em cena até 30 de Dezembro, na qual pretende passar mensagens como: “todas as diferenças são belas, todos somos freaks.” .

HE DISCOVERED THE WONDERS OF SHOW BUSINESS AND THE FOLIES-BERGÈRE WHILE STILL CHILD, THROUGH TELEVISION, FAR FROM IMAGINING THAT HE WOULD ONE DAY BECOME THE “STAR” OF A NARRATIVE. IT IS AT THE PARISIAN CABARET, ONCE HOSTED BY JOSÉPHINE BAKER AND CHARLIE CHAPLIN, THAT THE IRREVERENT DESIGNER JEAN-PAUL GAULTIER PRESENTS HIMSELF IN A FRENCH STYLE MUSICAL IN WHICH HE PARADES THE GLITTERING STORY OF MORE THAN FOUR DECADES OF A FASHION CAREER.

he drums drum, the throats are tuned just like the dance steps or the jugglery and the make-up are retouched for the “Fashion Freak Show”, on display at the Folies-Bergère. Just like a Haute Couture fashion show, but full of satire, begins the journey through a carnival world made of “mariniéres”, feathers, kilts, defined androgynous bodies, extravagant clothes and an iconic bust bra with pointed corset. Madonna, the muse of Jean-Paul Gaultier, used the “soutiengorge” and ensured it sealed a place in history. She did not dress in it again for the premiere of her longtime friend’s show in Paris, but she watched it being seductively displayed from the front row, where she could witness yet another creative vein of Gaultier. The “enfant terrible” of French fashion, already self-titled “vieillard terrible” (terrible old), is back, more experienced and, some people say, even more “terrible.”

Absent from Paris Fashion Week since closing the line of prêt-àporter, it took two years to prepare this musical, in the scene until December 30, in which it intends to pass messages like: “all the differences are beautiful, we are all freaks.”

Apoiou-se, por isso, nos próprios 66 anos de existência para explicar o sentido. Retrata aquela época em que deu os primeiros passos na carreira, aos 18 anos, quando Pierre Cardin lhe estendeu a mão, passando pelo tempo em que trabalhou para Jacques Esterel e Jean Patou. Chegou a ser convidado pelo grupo LVMH mas acabou por lançar a primeira colecção de alta-costura vindo mais tarde a ser convidado e contratado como director criativo da Hermés.

As memórias profissionais desse período non-stop, mas também as memórias pessoais, a paixão por Francis Menuge, as amizades, a passagem pelo cinema e pela televisão, os sabores e dissabores da vida, falam, dançam, riem e choram em palco, representados sem preconceitos, de forma aberta e transgressora, neste espectáculo que brinca com os conceitos de masculinidade e feminilidade. Até “Nana”, o urso de infância do estilista, que serviu de cobaia para testar incontáveis estilos, testes de maquilhagem e para o implante de cabelos de corda ou seios, está presente. A professora que o humilhou nos tempos de escola também não foi esquecida, juntamente com a época dos clubes nocturnos. Mas os temas contemporâneos são igualmente abordados, desde as bizarrias das cirurgias plásticas à feira das vaidades das redes sociais. Para compor este espectáculo inesquecível, com mais de 200 figurinos inéditos e um longo período de selecção de elenco, Gaultier trabalhou, entre outros, com a actriz, cineasta e argumentista franco-americana Tonie Marshall, com o compositor Nile Rodgers, músico do grupo Chic e autor de “Le Freak”, que marcou o final da década de 70, ou com a coreógrafa Marion Motin. Mais um sonho que se tornou realidade para estilista da camisola às riscas, pronto para ser visto em Paris e para deixar água na boca. O próximo passo poderá passar, quem sabe, por uma possível digressão internacional por outros cabarés do mundo.

The professional memories of this non-stop period, the personal memories, the passion for Francis Menuge, the friendships, the passage through the cinema and the television, the victories and bitter losses of life speak, dance, laugh and cry on stage, represented without prejudice, openly and transgressively, in this show that plays with the concepts of masculinity and femininity.

Even “Nana,” the stylist’s childhood bear, who has served as a guinea pig for countless styles, make-up tests, and for the implantation of hair or breasts, is present. The teacher who humiliated him in school days was not forgotten either, along with the age of night clubs. But the contemporary themes are also approached, from the bizarre side of plastic surgeries to the fair of the vanities of social networks. To compose this unforgettable show, with more than 200 brand new costumes and a long casting period, Gaultier worked, among others, with French-American actress, filmmaker and screenwriter Tonie Marshall, with composer Nile Rodgers, musician of the group Chic and author of “Le Freak,” which marked the late 1970s, and with choreographer Marion Motin. Another dream coming true for the designer of the stripes sweater is ready to be seen in Paris making your mouth water. The “Cat’s Eye High Jewellery” is an elegant feminine watch that can also serve and be used as a piece placed on top of satin gloves. Cinderella’s godmother would not think twice if she had it instead of crystal shoes, even because this watch would certainly raise the alarm at midnight and the story would be different. In this case, it is a piece that uses baguette diamonds breaking records. It boasts more than 630 diamonds of 190 different sizes. A process of mastery and precision that required more than 150 hours of work in placing all the precious stones in every piece. Sempre à frente do seu tempo, vendeu roupas desportivas, para ir à praia e montar a cavalo, longe de imaginar que um dia o símbolo da marca que criou também iria estar estampado em pranchas de surf, snowboards ou esquis.

Estar na moda não tem de ser sinónimo de sofrimento tal como practicar desportos de inverno também não tem de significar falta de estilo. Always ahead of her time, she sold sportswear, for the beach and horse-riding, far from imagining that one day the symbol of the brand she created would also be stamped on surfboards, snowboards or skis. And in clothes for winter sports too. True to the maison founder’s passion for outdoor activities, Karl Lagerfeld, the creative director of Chanel, turned to the luxury of mountain life and created the first “Coco Neige” collection, a must-have of Winter 2018/2019 for descents in the snow and for the aprés-ski style. It presents a line of ready-towear and accessories consisting of, among other things, ski suits, spars, vests, knit sweaters with turtlenecks, jumpsuits, hats, gloves, mountain shoes with sheep wool, purses, backpacks and sunglasses.

Taking to the slopes doesn’t mean you can’t be fashionable.

Lagerfeld has not forgotten, therefore, the technical requirements that the garments need to include in the name of wellbeing in lowtemperature environments. With slim and sporty silhouettes, they are made of high-quality waterproof quilting materials and have heat seams combined with elements that define Chanel’s genetic code as the ubiquitous “tweed” mixed with leather, satin, velvet, wool and waterproof and wind resistant fabrics. The black and white tones dominate the palette of colours combined with notes in blue and fuchsia.

For a complete Chanel “look” there are plenty of sun and skiing glasses, used by the Australian actress Margot Robbie in the campaign of the collection, photographed by Karl Lagerfeld himself. One of the sunglasses features a classic pilot frame and 18-carat white gold lenses that protect the wearers from the sun’s rays and the brightness of the snow. or Montblanc it’s never too late to innovate even if it means leaving the comfort zone. A year ago, the brand ventured into the brave world of smartwatches with the launch of the Montblanc Summit but the “daring” move was a success now perpetuated in a new version: Summit 2.

With a smaller case, of 42 millimetres, but capable of arousing even sweeter passions than its predecessor is the first luxury smartwatch to come equipped with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon Wear 3100 chip. A 3 GJB 17, uma empresa de design especializada em desenvolver peças únicas com recurso a partes de automóveis, fez a experiência e nasceu, entre outras, a Porsche Writing Desk. O painel do carro tem um acabamento “Artic Silver” e cobre uma elegante base de secretária, com duas gavetas, em nogueira. Sem rodas, ao abrir o tampo poderá escrever, colocar o computador ou o portátil Porsche Design.

Esta amostra é a terceira peça feita pela 3 GJB 17 e foi vendida no leilão da RM Sotheby’s no Porsche Experience Center de Atlanta, nos Estados Unidos, destinado a comemorar o septuagésimo aniversário da marca.

RM Sotheby’s took to auction a desk, special in every way. First off, it comes equipped with an original rear panel of a Porsche 911. Who says cars and furniture can’t fit together? The 3 GJB 17, a design company specialising in developing unique pieces using vehicle parts did just that and the Porsche Writing Desk came to life. The car’s panel features an “Artic Silver” finish and covers an elegant two-drawer walnut desk base. Without wheels, when you open the top you can choose to write, use the computer or the Porsche Design notebook.

This sample is the third piece made by 3 GJB 17 and was sold at auction by RM Sotheby’s at the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta, USA, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the brand.

que têm em comum Gwen Stefani, Cameron Diaz ou Stacey Snider, a presidente e CEO da Twentieth Century Fox Film? Para lá de se moverem no mundo artístico partilham a mesma paixão pelo trabalho de Kelly Wearstler, uma rock star do design de interiores, made in USA, que já desenvolveu projectos para as três. Viajante profissional, é nas visitas a outros países que “estimula a criatividade.” Em entrevista exclusiva à Diamond, a famosa decoradora sublinhou que à semelhança do trabalho que faz, as deslocações em viagens são uma oportunidade de viver uma nova história de amor a todo o instante, porque se “apaixona por cada lugar que conhece.” Não esconde o encanto pela mística de Angola, um país, descreve, “rico em cultura, que se traduziria perfeitamente em design hoteleiro”, e por Portugal, onde teve oportunidade de visitar a Comporta, com praias e pinhais que se tornaram no local de culto para incontáveis personalidades internacionais. As obras de arte contemporânea e as influências europeias são uma constante e coabitam com objectos resgatados de antiquários ou desenhados pela própria Kelly ao lado de peças de mobiliário únicas. Nas paredes, notam-se referências à pré-modernidade francesa e ao cubismo, com papel e revestimentos com padrões geométricos e florais de toque vintage. As influências de outros movimentos como o Bauhaus ou o Modernismo também se faz notar dando um toque de classe intemporal. Será difícil querer sair deste lugar, mais ainda se for possível degustar uma barra de chocolate “Compartés”, marca parceira de Kelly Wearstler, para a qual a designer desenvolveu uma identidade visual para as embalagens, com padrões e cores inspirados nos sabores.

hat do Gwen Stefani, Cameron Diaz and Stacey Snider, the president and CEO of Twentieth Century Fox Film, have in common with? As well as moving in the artistic world they share the same passion for the work of Kelly Wearstler, a rock star of interior design, born in the USA, who has already developed projects for all three. A seasoned traveler, she claims the visits to other countries “fuel [her] creativity.” In an exclusive interview with Diamond magazine, the designer emphasised that just like the work she does, taking trips is an opportunity to live a new love story at any time, because she falls in love ”with any single place she gets to know.” Kelly doesn’t deny she is attracted by the mystique of Angola, a country, she describes as “rich in culture, which would perfectly translate into hotel design”, or Portugal, where she visited Comporta, its beaches and pine forests which have become the place of worship for countless international personalities. Maybe one day this will become a focus of one of her projects.

Meanwhile, the momentum of projects continues. Currently she is working on developing luxury interiors for residential projects of global clients. At the same time she has released a new collection of fabrics, wallpaper, coatings, carpets, lighting and furniture. And the countdown to three new hotels with residential properties in Los Angeles, Austin (Texas) and Santa Monica, California, and Kelly Wearstler’s interiors is underway.

The designer’s trademark is stamped in every corner of San Francisco’s iconic Proper Hotel, which reopened last year after five years of remodeling work. Contemporary works of art and European influences are a constant and cohabit with antiques or items designed by Kelly herself alongside unique pieces of furniture.

On the walls, there are references to French pre-modernity and Cubism, with wallpaper and coatings featuring geometric and floral patterns with a vintage touch. The influences of other movements such as Bauhaus and Modernism are also noted giving a touch of timeless class. It will be difficult to want to leave this place, even more so if you can taste the “Compartés” chocolate bar, a partner brand of Kelly Wearstler, for which the designer has developed a visual identity for the packaging, with patterns and colours inspired by the flavours.

Para o primeiro só viajou fugazmente, quando foi a Pequim inaugurar uma exposição sobre o próprio trabalho em 1985, mas muitas das impressões que encontrou por lá já tinham desfilado pela passerelle na colecção emblemática de Outono-Inverno 1977/1978. Os incontáveis livros, filmes e obras de arte que tinha, alimentavam-lhe o processo criativo. Depois de explorar os temas cossacos voltou-se para o gigante asiático. Mergulhou nas tradições locais chinesas e apresentou, entre outras coisas, chapéus tradicionais andrajosamente adornados ao lado ombreiras inspiradas em pagodes. São algumas dessas criações que recebem quem chega ao Museu Yves Saint Laurent de Paris, para ver ao vivo e a cores, a mostra “Os sonhos do Oriente”, onde estão expostas cerca de 50 peças de colecções de alta-costura dedicadas às latitudes asiáticas.

Os turbantes e a estrutura dos saris coloridos, as sedas brocadas, os bordados metálicos com relevo e as sofisticadas peças adornadas com botões-jóia inspiradas em trajes principescos, também estão presentes na parte dedicada à Índia, até porque a história, a cultura e a arte do país, foram cuidadosamente retratadas em colecções de Saint Laurent.

O país do sol nascente e das cerejeiras em flor, que visitou em 1963 e 1975, também marcou uma época da obra do estilista que não escondeu o fascínio pelo período Edo (1600-1868), era de paz e de florescimento artístico que representa a idade de ouro da cultura japonesa. Foi nesta altura que ganhou força o “Kabuqui”, o teatro japonês tradicional, conhecido pelo exagero da maquilhagem e pela estilização da dramaturgia. Saint Laurent deixou-se inebriar pelas emoções desse mundo mágico e chegou a apresentar várias interpretações do quimono. As peças expostas, qual delas a mais vistosa, rivalizam em protagonismo no museu, que apresenta ainda várias obras asiáticas que foram emprestadas pelo Museu Nacional de Artes Asiáticas – Guimet e por coleccionadores particulares, tornando a viagem pelas viagens de Saint Laurent ainda mais apelativa. His visit to China was fleeting, when he went to Beijing to inaugurate an exhibition about his own work in 1985, but many of the impressions he found there had already paraded through the catwalk partly in the emblematic collection of autumn-winter 1977/1978. The countless books, films and works of art that he had, fed his creative process. After exploring the Cossack themes, he turned to the Asian giant. He immersed himself in the local Chinese traditions and presented, among other things, traditional hats raggedly adorned alongside shoulder pads inspired by pagodas.

Some of these creations receive those who arrive at the Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Paris to see, live and in colour, the exhibition “The Dreams of the Orient”, which displays about 50 pieces of dedicated couture collections to the Asian latitudes. The turbans and the structure of the coloured saris, the brocade silks, the embossed metallic embroidery and the sophisticated pieces adorned with jewel buttons inspired by princely costumes are present in the part dedicated to India, also because history, culture and art of the country were carefully depicted in Saint Laurent collections.

The country of the rising sun and the blossoming cherry trees that he visited in 1963 and 1975 also marked a time of the stylist’s work that did not hide the fascination for the Edo period (1600-1868), an era of peace and artistic flourishing that represents the golden age of Japanese culture. It was at this time that the “Kabuqui”, the traditional Japanese theatre, known for the exaggeration of make-up and the stylisation of dramaturgy, gained strength.

Saint Laurent became intoxicated by the emotions of this magical world and came up with various interpretations of the kimono.

The exhibited pieces compete prominently in the museum, which also features several Asian works that were loaned by the National Museum of Asian Arts - Guimet and private collectors, making the journey through Saint Laurent’s work even more appealing. Catch the exhibition until 27 January 2019.

To this recipe Francesco Maccapani Missoni, a lover of the kitchen and of the good table, added geometric shapes with colour gradients of the famous Italian zig-zag brand to produce the “The Missoni Family Cookbook.”

Putting your hands in the dough is a pleasure with the journey developed by Angela Missoni’s son, the creative director of the fashion house, created for all the “good forks” that can’t resist the flavours, colours and perfumed aromas of the “Made in Italy” kitchen.

Launched in English by the French publisher Assouline, the book features a foreword by the legendary composer and record producer Quincy Jones, a family friend, who developed a crush for Missoni when he visited Sardinia in the 70s. It is a treasure of the family’s favourite recipes, shared for the very first time, with an emphasis on the importance of local production and ever fresh ingredients of the season. For that reason, they are organised by different seasons of the year. They start in Spring, with secrets of “Nonna (grandmother) Rosita” – the founder of the brand alongside her husband Ottavio – well-kept throughout the years to make starters, main courses and desserts for 20 or 200 people, who knows. Desenhou um padrão impressionante e simétrico de barras gráficas para aparecerem estampadas em cápsulas em forma de ovo elíptica com garfos, facas, colheres e colheres de sobremesa banhados a prata no interior. As peças dão-se a conhecer ao mundo dentro dos invólucros característicos da casa francesa, que colabora pela primeira vez com um nome grande da moda. For the “Mood” line, an elegant set of cutlery created by the creative director of Chanel together with the French brand Christofle, Lagerfeld opted for sobriety. He designed a stryking and symmetrical pattern of graphic lines to appear stamped on elliptical egg-shaped capsules with silver-plated forks, knives, spoons, and dessert spoons inside. The pieces are revealed to the world inside the characteristic wrappings of the French house, which collaborates for the first time with a great name of fashion. With the Art Déco movement as the source of inspiration, one of the capsules, in polished silver, is available in just a thousand units.

The other, in black, lacquered stainless steel, is available only in 500 units. The pieces of the “Christofle x Karl Lagerfeld” cutlery set are numbered and contain a stamp of the French brand hallmark side by side with the silhouette logo of the “kaiser” of fashion. Another challenge that joins the previous experience of creating a set of crystal glasses, when Lagerfeld joined forces with the Swedish brand Orrefors. The Christofle store in Lisbon hosted a presentation event with pomp and circumstance, and had the collaboration of Loja das Meias, Karl Lagerfeld’s representative in Portugal. O “Bugatti Divo”, ideal para longos dias de sol sem controlos de velocidade, é a homenagem perfeita na contagem decrescente para as comemorações dos 110 anos da marca francesa, que se assinalam em 2019. Para os amantes da adrenalina das competições, o nome não é completamente desconhecido. Esta foi a forma encontrada pela Bugatti para recordar Albert Divo, o piloto francês que venceu duas vezes com a marca do grupo Volkswagen, a famosa corrida Targa Florio nas estradas montanhosas da Sicília, em 1928 e 1929.

Com o Bugatti Chiron como base, o “Divo” foi reduzido a 40 unidades e apesar do preço mínimo de cinco milhões de euros, já estão todos vendidos. Surge agora equipado com o icónico motor W16 de oito litros da Bugatti, e com uma potência de 1.500cv e 1600 Nm. Foi em 2005, quando lançou o Veyron, que a Bugatti apresentou pela primeira vez este motor.

The “Bugatti Divo”, ideal for long sunny days without speed controls, is the perfect tribute in the countdown to the celebrations of the 110th anniversary of the French brand, which is celebrated in 2019. For lovers of adrenaline racing, the name is not completely unknown. This was the way found by Bugatti to recall Albert Divo, the French rider who won twice with the Volkswagen group’s brand the famous Targa Florio race on the mountain roads of Sicily in 1928 and 1929.

With the Bugatti Chiron as a base, there will only be 40 models of the “Divo” and despite the minimum price of five million euros they have already sold out. Nas palavras do Presidente da Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S., Stephan Winkelmann, o “Divo é feito para as curvas.” A principal novidade é a barbatana que se estende até à traseira. Consegue-se desta forma atingir os 1.6G em acelerações laterais, contra os 1.5G anteriores. Mais leve e com uma redução de 35 quilos, o “Divo” precisa apenas de 2,4 segundos para chegar dos 0 aos 100 km/h e tem uma velocidade de ponta situada nos 380 km/h. O registo máximo é substancialmente inferior, em relação aos 420 km/h da edição original. Mas muitas das características que o definem acabam, no entanto, por torná-lo mais rápido do que o Chiron, como se comprovou no Circuito de Nardò, onde demorou menos oito segundos por volta do que o original. Apesar de estar mais voltado para a utilização em pista também foi homologado para exibir charme pela estrada, o que significa que poderemos vê-lo a desafiar a perícia dos radares. No seu interior, e em nome de maior leveza, foram retirados compartimentos de arrumação e o sistema de som de origem foi substituído por uma alternativa mais simples.

Mantém-se a grelha em forma de ferradura de cavalo, conjugada com novas entradas de ar para assegurar um melhor fluxo do ar e refrigeração. Igualmente presentes, estão a linha de assinatura da marca na lateral, e a barbatana que define o eixo longitudinal quando visto de cima. Uma “bomba” de quatro rodas, tão exclusiva, que será muito difícil esbarrar nela para um encontro de primeiro grau.

The main novelty is the shark fin stretching from the roof to the rear wing. Thus it is possible to reach the 1.6G in lateral accelerations, against the previous 1.5G. Lighter, with a reduction of 35 kilos, the “Divo” needs only 2.4 seconds to reach from 0 to 100 km/h and has a top speed of 380 km/h, therefore substantially lower than the 420 km/h of the original edition.

What it lacks in speed it makes up for in performance-making it around Nardò circuit eight seconds faster than its predecessor.

Although the Divo is more geared for use on the racetrack, it can also show off its charm on the road. Inside, and in the name of greater lightness, storage compartments were removed and the original sound system was replaced by a simpler alternative.

The horseshoe-shaped grille is maintained, coupled with new air intakes, to ensure better airflow and cooling, and with a new front spoiler. Also present are the signature line marking on the side of the vehicle, and a fin defining the longitudinal axis when viewed from above. A four-wheel stunner, so exclusive, that many of us will never have an encounter with it.

e a vida fosse um filme de ficção científica, a nova estrela da hotelaria de Macau bem poderia ser o palco principal da acção. Sem naves espaciais, discos voadores ou mutantes por perto, mas com uma forma que mais parece saída de outro planeta bem longínquo, o “Morpheus” foi uma das últimas obras-primas desenhadas por Zaha Hadid e tornadas realidade. Assim como o deus grego que lhe empresta o nome, também convida quem aqui vem, para uma aventura pelo mundo dos sonhos, distribuídos por 40 andares e 160 metros de altura. Lawrence Ho, o filho do magnata Stanley Ho, responsável pela Melco International que opera o “Morpheus”, também tinha, ele próprio, um sonho: o de “deixar uma carta de amor a Macau.” Não ergueu uma versão do Taj Mahal mas a paixão resultou antes numa silhueta renovada do skyline da “Cidade dos Sonhos” (City of Dreams), situada na Faixa do Cotai, entre as ilhas de Taipa e Coloane. É neste complexo turístico que se encontra o hotel, num perímetro de requinte extremo que conta ainda com um

f life were a science fiction movie, the new star of Macao’s hospitality could well be centre stage. While there are no spaceships, flying saucers or mutants nearby, the “Morpheus” looks like it’s from another planet. It’s one of the last masterpieces, designed by Zaha Hadid, to be realised. As well as the Greek god who lends it his name, it also invites those who come here for an adventure through a world of dreams, spread over 40 floors and 160 meters high. Lawrence Ho, the son of the tycoon Stanley Ho, who heads up Melco International, which operates the “Morpheus”, also had a dream himself: to “leave a love letter to Macau.” He did not build a version of the Taj Mahal but the passion resulted instead in a renewed silhouette of the City of Dreams skyline, located in the Cotai Strip, between the islands of Taipa and Coloane. It is in this tourist area that the hotel is located, in a perimeter of extreme refinement that also boasts a casino, two theatres, 20 restaurants and three other hotel units.

Semelhante a um exoesqueleto, o “Morpheus” exala luxo por todos os poros. Foram precisos cerca de mil milhões de euros para erguer este colosso arquitectónico. As cavidades ao centro do arranha-céus formam o número “8”, símbolo do equilíbrio cósmico, e revelam passagens para outros horizontes. Servem, em simultâneo, para estabelecer a ligação, através de pontes disformes, entre os dois lados do edifício. Os 12 elevadores panorâmicos levam os visitantes aos andares superiores com instalações para jogos VIP, ginásios, três villas com piscina, seis villas duplex e mais de 700 quartos. Na hora da decoração de interiores, a cargo do designer Peter Remedios, não se olharam a custos e até as banheiras foram especialmente criadas para o “Morpheus.” No 40º andar do arranha-céus, como um oásis, encontra-se uma extensa piscina de roof-top que espelha o azul do céu visível e convida os hóspedes a deixarem-se levar pela realidade onírica. The cavities at the centre of the skyscraper form the number “8”, symbol of cosmic balance, and reveal passages to other horizons. They serve, simultaneously, to establish the connection, through misshapen bridges, between the two sides of the building. The 12 panoramic lifts take guests to the upper floors with VIP gaming facilities, gyms, three villas each with a swimming pool, six duplex villas and more than 700 rooms. Art is always present and constantly changing with every new visit, with works by big names like KAWS (Brian Donnelly), Jean-Michel Othoniel and Thilo Heinzmann. Although much must be done to stand out in the disruptive architectural landscape of Macao, at least that dream, which Morpheus cherishes, seems to have already become a reality.

Tal como aconteceu com o museu da cidade espanhola de Bilbau, em Bordéus o “La Cité du Vin” acabou por se transformar num dos principais pontos de atracção turística. Eco-sustentável, com 55 metros de altura, um miradouro, um restaurante panorâmico e incontáveis vidros que mudam de tonalidade em função da hora do dia, o edifício conta a história do néctar entre aromas, cores e sabores distribuídos por mais de 13 mil m2, dez andares e 20 áreas temáticas.

A obra, da responsabilidade do estúdio francês de arquitectura XTU Architects e dos especialistas em desenvolvimento de museus Casson Mann, alberga no interior séculos de história, desde o período anterior a Cristo até aos dias de hoje, e de conhecimento partilhado com os visitantes através de uma experiência imersiva e sensorial por incontáveis imagens, registos audiovisuais e testemunhos de produtores de vinho de todo o mundo. Há viagens a 3D sem sair do assento e várias exposições tácteis. Algumas dessas impressões podem ser absorvidas na mostra “Douro: uma alquimia de ar, terra e água.” Até 6 de Janeiro, a Fondation pour la Culture et les Civilisations du Vin, responsável pelo espaço, dedica uma exposição ao território vinícola do Porto e do Douro. Depois da exposição sobre a Geórgia, em 2017, parte do museu foi invadida pelos socalcos do Douro e pela brisa, ainda que imaginária, da paisagem inscrita na lista do Património Mundial da UNESCO. Para ver e saborear, de preferência, de copo na mão, até porque o museu tem uma adega com 14 mil garrafas de 800 vinhos distintos (300 franceses e 500 de países de todo o mundo). As with the museum of the Spanish city of Bilbao, in Bordeaux the “La Cité du Vin” turned out to be a big tourist attraction. Standing 55 metres high, the building has a panoramic viewpoint and countless windows that change their colour depending on the time of day. The museum tells the story of the nectar between aromas, colours and flavours distributed over 13 thousand square metres, ten floors and 20 thematic areas. It’s design, under the responsibility of the French architectural studio XTU Architects and the museum development experts Casson Mann, houses centuries of history, from the period before Christ to the present day, and knowledge shared with visitors through a immersive and sensory experience through countless images, audiovisual records and testimonies of wine producers from around the world. There are several different displays including touch presentations and 3D experiences. Some of these can be found in the exhibition “Douro: an alchemy of air, earth and water.” Until 6 January, the Fondation pour la Culture et les Civilisations du Vin, which runs the space, dedicates a space to the wine of the Douro. After a Georgia exhibition in 2017, part of the museum has been invaded by the terraces of the Douro and by the breeze, even imaginary, of the landscape inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. See and taste the exhibition, preferably with a glass in hand because the museum also has a cellar filled with 14 thousand bottles of 800 different wines (300 French and 500 from countries around the world). At the table, this Christmas, there will be even more style, thanks to the masters of Fiasconaro and Dolce & Gabbana. Stars in the respective arts - from pastry and fashion – they’ve come up with a homemade panettone offering alternative flavours. The typical Milanese sweet, of northern Italy, was made with Sicilian ingredients, from the south of the country, and produced in two versions: a pistachio panettone covered in white chocolate, with a velvety pistachio cream, or made with Sicilian citrus fruits and saffron. They are carefully kept inside a tin box full of motifs alluding to Sicily originally designed by Dolce & Gabbana. The panettone, coming in 1kg or 100g, is available in selected stores or online.

nome de Virgil Abloh dispensa apresentações no mundo da moda mas o actual director artístico de vestuário masculino da Louis Vuitton também dá cartas na divisão de Wines & Spirits do grupo LVMH. Que o diga a Moët & Chandon, presenteada com o génio criativo do designer que desenvolveu uma edição limitada de garrafas contemporâneas para o clássico champanhe Néctar Imperial Rosé. Abloh substituiu o tradicional selo em tom gold que envolve a elegante garrafa e vestiu-a com apontamentos de branco, conjugados com o rosa e dourado deixando a nu as borbulhas de champanhe que se movem sedutoramente no interior.

A garrafa ultra-exclusiva, com a assinatura lateral do designer, está disponível em duas versões: 750 ml “ready-to-wear” e três litros, mas para aceder à última versão é preciso ser familiar ou amigo de Abloh. Também terá de marcar voo para os EUA se quiser ter um encontro de primeiro grau com a outra versão da garrafa, apenas disponível no país em lojas seleccionadas.

Evidenced by his collaboration with Moët & Chandon which drew upon the creative genius of the designer who developed a limited edition of contemporary bottles for the classic champagne Néctar Imperial Rosé. Abloh replaced the traditional gold tone seal that surrounds the elegant bottle and dressed it with white notes, in conjunction with pink and gold, allowing the champagne bubbles that seductively move inside to be visible.

The ultra-exclusive bottle, with the side signature of the designer, is available in two versions: the first a three litre bottle, only available to relatives and friends of Abloh. For the second version, a 750 ml “ready-to-wear” model, you will have to book a flight to the US where it’s only available in selected stores.
