against the POA involving issues related to the expiration of covenants and collections. As of the deadline for this article the POA has not been served with the Com-
plaint, and therefore cannot comment on its specifics. The original proposed President’s Report for the September edition of the DH News included a detailed explanation of the
legal issues regarding the expiration of covenants and collections. Based upon advice from legal counsel, the proposed article was pulled from publication until such time we have an

Monday, June 21, 2021 A meeting of the Board was held at 5000 Diamondhead Circle, Diamondhead Mississippi. PRESENTATION — None PRESIDENT’S REPORT — President Knobloch provided his report. COMMITTEE REPORTS — Golf Committee reported assuring handicap process is uniform throughout all tournaments; noting that drainage on courses is working well due to excellent condition of courses; plans to aerate the Cardinal greens soon as Pine greens have been done; and new golf carts have had maximum speed adjusted. Adminis-
tration Committee did not meet this month but will soon be looking for a new employee medical benefits plan. Airport/Marina Committee did not meet this month; process is “very close” for floating dock permit; and was recently made aware of a potential change in the tower behind Waffle House that could affect the airport landing/take-off pattern and have begun working with Stennis and City to explore the problem. Grounds Committee reported Glen Eagle sign and RV storage have been improved; addressing cleaning areas needed and will suspend meetings for several months to allow for work completion. Safety

Recreation Committee reported working with Grounds to seek improvement of path from Golf Club to Moanalua Drive; suspending Event Lawn plans until best site located; Pickleball courts are now being used; ball field maintenance addressed; and discussed renter’s use of pools as guests. House/Club Committee reported heating table has been installed; furniture and sound panels for Latitude 30 coming in July; oil disposal system begins installation in July; seeking initial plans for kitchen renovation as needed for RFP; and pro-

Definitions Section 154 of the MS Support Animal Act 1. Defines and gives various examples of what constitutes a Support Animal and the various func-
tions they are to be permitted to serve in public spaces 2. INCLUDES the right to a trainer to be allowed to have the Service Animal in Training in the same public spaces Title II and III of the ADA: 1. Only recognizes trained dogs as official service animals. Miniature horses are also considered official service animals under certain circumstances. Only two questions may be asked of someone entering a facility with a Service Animal: 1. Is the animal required because of a disability? 2. What work or task has the animal been trained to perform? a) These questions can-
not be asked when the disability and service function is obvious: a seeing eye dog, a dog pulling a wheelchair, etc. Emotional Support Animals III. Neither the ADA nor Mississippi’s service animal law includes what some people call “emotional support animals”: animals that provide a sense of safety, companionship, and comfort to those with psychiatric or emotional disabilities or conditions. Although these animals often have therapeutic benefits, they are not individually trained to perform specific tasks for their handlers. Under the ADA, owners of public accommodations are not required to allow emotional support animals, only

GRIEF SUPPORT WORKSHOP St. Thomas Episcopal Church would like to invite anyone who has suffered the loss of a loved one to a six-week Grief Support Group. The six-week program will begin on Monday, September 13th, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. If you or someone you care about has been suffering from the loss of a spouse or other loved one, you are invited to participate. This will be a structured program which includes some educational information on how to understand our overwhelming feelings of loss and develop coping skills to better deal with them. It will also provide a safe and caring support group and an opportunity to share our own personal memories and issues. The goal of these groups is to provide our community with a support vehicle to deal with the difficulties and emotional turbulence that follows the death of a loved one. Grief is a normal human process that all people experience. The healthiest healing involves a process of working through the pain. We grieve most effectively when we find ourselves with others who understand and are willing to hear our pain. The groups will provide a safe, confi-

Diamondhead’s “Blessing of The Classics” will be held on Wednesday, October 6th from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Once again the city is looking for volunteers to assist in welcoming these beautiful cars of yesteryear to our City, as was done the past several years. Volunteer help will be needed at the staging area, blessing circle and along the drive route (Diamondhead Drives North, West and East) in the event any cars experience mechanical trouble. The Diamondhead Wine Club is dedicated to the exploration and enjoyment of wine. At each monthly tasting, we sample at least 6 different wines and learn a little about their history and origins. The Club is open to any who are interested in enjoying and learning about wine. The garden club ladies were planting an Oak tree. Nathan grabbed a shovel and helped dig the hole and planted the tree. He knew how “because his grandmother had taught him”.

LADIES BRIDGE PARTY CLUB SEPTEMBER PARTY The date for our September Party is Friday,
September 24, 2021, at the Country Club. Arrival time is 9:15 and we shall begin playing bridge at 9:30. September 2021 begins the new year for Party Bridge. Dues are $30 for the year. This covers all expenses for the club such as coffee, bridge supplies and monthly prizes. DH GEAUX HIKING CLUB For those of you who like to really plan ahead, put Paddle Paradise 2021 on your calendar. This will be a free canoe/kayak paddle event launched from the Diamondhead Marina. It is scheduled for Saturday, September 25, 2021. Registration will be at 8am and the paddle will start at 9:30am. The Dave Mayley Band will entertain the participants from 11am to 2pm, and food and drinks will be available for sale at the Lazy Gator. There were over 100 participants last year, so it should be even better this year. Remember, there are no fees to be a member of Geaux Hiking; everyone is welcome; you do not have to be a resident of Diamondhead; all ages and abilities are welcome. DIAMONDHEAD GARDEN CLUB The Diamondhead Gar-
den Club will kick off our new year with its first meeting on September 15th at the country club with social time at 9:30 AM and the meeting starting at 10:00 AM As many know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Garden Clubs of Mississippi Inc. has a project called “Plant it Pink”. It encourages the clubs to plant a garden with pink flowers and/or shrubs, in an area that can be seen by the public, to create awareness of breast cancer and the fact that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Diamondhead Garden Club has decided that this is a worthwhile project. We contacted the POA and they agreed to partner with us and are excited. They helped choose sites that will be visible to the greatest number of people, the entrance to the city and the country club, as well as several smaller sites. The plantings will be in late September so it will be in bloom for October. The POA has arranged with the garden club to be the beneficiary of The Scramble Golf Classic tournament on October 23rd to be held in conjunction with the Fall Fest at the Club at Diamondhead. The Diamondhead Garden Club will be selling “sponsorships” for individual holes on the golf course. There can be more than one sponsor for each hole, and you may split a sponsorship with someone
else. There will be signs at each hole with the name of the sponsor and any other dedication. For example “In Honor/Memory of my Mother” or aunt, sibling, specific name; you get the idea. Deadline to sponsor a hole is September 27th. Contact any garden club member or get information from the Golf Pro Shop. The Diamondhead Garden Club will have a space at Fall Fest October 23 from 11am to 4pm where we will give away plants and gardening information. The money raised from this tournament will be used to help defray the costs of the “Plant it Pink” garden planting and any other projects to beautify our community. You might have noticed the Maluhia Garden on Diamondhead Drive East, the registering of Ancient Oaks or the many sapling Oak trees planted throughout Diamondhead. These are all garden club projects.

owners for your support of our junior golf program. Madden Baughman (age 9) had a great 1st time at the US Kids Golf World Championship at Pinehurst No. 1 and finished tied for 60th in the world. Karstyn Altese (age 12) made her sixth appearance in the US Kids World Championship and finished tied for 43rd in the world. Great accomplishments for both and we are so proud of them for how they represented Diamondhead and our Diamondhead junior golf programs. The Kelly Gibson Foun-
dation and the Kelly Gibson Junior Golf Tour yearend banquet was held this past month. Diamondhead juniors received six of the twenty-six scholarships available…just incredible! Scholarships were available for efforts on and off the golf course. A huge part of scholarship eligibility is the mentoring program for the younger age groups on the Kelly Gibson Junior Golf Tour. Congratulations to these fine Diamondhead juniors…Klausen Madison-Zurich Classic Title Scholarship, Grace Lanier-BC Cup Foundation Scholarship,
Gabe Hudson-Lt. Michael Boutte Memorial Scholarship, Mateo Jimenez-Jack O’Neill Memorial Scholarship, Katelynn AlteseAllstate Sugar Bowl Scholarship, and Kelsey DillGerald Causin Scholarship. We also had a Kelly Gibson Junior Golf Tour Player of the Year for the Boys 11-13 Division…Jack Lawson! Jack played some great golf this summer with solid scoring and several rounds under par. We were also excited to see Josh Achord take the Boys 16-17 Player of the Year title and Katelynn Altese finish runner up for Player of the Year in
the Girls 18-22 (not bad for a 17 year-old!) We are incredibly proud of these Diamondhead junior golfers and our entire awardwinning junior golf program. An incredible learning and growing experience for all. We are building more than just great golf swings.

Tolmas Charitable Trust Mentorship Program June-July 2021. The Kelly Gibson Foundation operates the junior golf tour with the mission of creating a positive learning experience through golf by providing competitive golf tournaments throughout the year. The KGJGT is open to both male and female golfers ages 7-22, with members competing in junior golf tournaments throughout New Orleans and the Gulf Coast Region. Regardless of the players’ golfing ability, scholarships are awarded based on community service, grade point average and financial need. All members of the KGJGT who are at least juniors in high school are eligible to receive scholarships. About The Kelly Gibson Foundation: The Kelly Gibson Foundation was founded as Feed the Relief, Inc. by Kelly and Elizabeth Gibson in September of 2005 with the idea of providing necessary support for the front line first responders to
Hurricane Katrina. I encourage everyone who has recently moved into the Diamondhead community to play with the Diamondhead Men’s Golf Association. We play every Wednesday morning and you must check in before 8 AM to participate. In the Shamble competition on July 14 the team of Gene deMedicis, Don Martino, Chuck Ingraham and Dennis Tauzin won with a score of 14 under par. In the Mixed Bag competition on July 28 the team of Sam Lee, John Bunce, Dutch Vandervort and Gary Hava won with a score of 20 under par. Finishing second was the team of Gene deMedicis, Marion Rotolo, Art Burgoyne and AJ Dilley. Robert Gros, Norman Bowley, Ernie Knobloch and Dennis Tauzin finished third. Renny Pangan had the closest shot of the day at 2’11”. The format for the game on August 4 was again a scramble due to cart path only playing conditions. The Monthly Trophy Day scheduled to be played on Tuesday, July 6th, on the Cardinal Course had to be cancelled because the course was very wet and designated “cart path only.” So, we just rescheduled it for the next Tuesday, July 13th. When it came to Flight #3 we again had a tie between Sylvia Corban and Dinah Knobloch. Mary Murray garnered the honors all to herself in Flight #4. LONGEST DRIVE: Flight #1 Nancy Hooper, Flight #2 Kathie Pierson and Flight #4 - Brigitte Becker. Unfortunately, no one in Flight #3 had a long drive that stayed in the fairway.
When it came to CLOSEST TO THE PIN category, Therese Mauterer had the best shot on the green in Flight #1. In Flight #2 Kathie Pierson got the honors with her second shot. In Flight #3 - Dinah Knobloch took first place also with her second shot. And, not to be left out, Brigitte Becker took first place in Flight #4 - also in her second shot. None of our gals scored Chip-ins or Birdies during this competition. Once again Mother Nature played us a bad hand and our game of Ts & Ss had to be cancelled.
