Diamondhead Krewe of Mardi Diamondhead junior golf Gras announces Grand Marshall instructors score a new record 2019, Senator Philip Moran Senator Moran was born in Bay St Louis on March 6, 1961. He is married to the former Sheila Morris; they have two children, Lori and Alan. His son Alan is a City Councilman for Diamondhead. The Morans are going to celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary this year. Senator Moran is a former Hancock County Supervisor and board president, He owns his own company, Philips Pest Control, LLC. He attended Mississippi State University where he earned his BS degree in Business and Agriculture. He has had his business for 35 years, having learned the trade from his father in law. Senator Moran, a native of Hancock County, is a member of the Knights of Columbus, through the Catholic Church. He is a member of the Hancock Rotary Club, Hancock Chamber of Commerce, Business & Professional Association and MSU Alumni.

the lottery bill for which he campaigned for 20 years. He also secured 35% BP money for Hancock County, stating that other coastal counties received 25%. At the state level, Senator Moran serves on several committees to include, Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks - Chair - Veterans and Military Affairs Vice-Chair · Appropriations, County Affairs,

Economic Development, Energy, Enrolled Bills, Highways and Transportation, Investigate State Offices, Labor, Ports and Marine Resources. We look forward to having Senator Moran as our Grand Marshall who says it is an Honor to serve as Grand Marshal, adding that the Diamondhead parade is his favorite since it is so family friendly.

Our junior golf instructors have accomplished something that’s never happened In the 50-year history of the Gulf States PGA! No golf facility has won the Junior Player Development Award three consecutive times until now. In 2016 and 2017 Chris Altese, PGA, Director of Golf, received the award and Hoppy Smith, PGA, Director of Player Development, is the 2018 award winner. And, to put a cherry on top, Hoppy has been named as a U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 Instructor. Jimmy Headrick, PGA, and a member of the Golf Academy of Diamondhead teaching staff is the most decorated PGA Professional in the Gulf States PGA for his work of growing and developing junior golf said “what has

happened is historical and I feel it won’t happen again. This truly sets Diamondhead apart as a true

leader in junior golf in the mid-south”. Way to go guys!

Krewe of Diamondhead Mardi Gras Parade Noon, Saturday, March 2 The parade begins at Diamondhead Community Center, travels south on Gex Drive, turns left at 4-way stop, and continues through shopping district, turning right past the Fire Station and ending at the Diamondhead Country Club.
