Welcome back to The Daily Item’s annual salute to mothers, featuring artwork and notes from elementary school students across the Valley.
We received hundreds of submissions — almost 1,000 — from schools in Danville, Line Mountain, Milton, Selinsgrove and Shikellamy. About 100 of these heart-felt messages can be found in this special edition.

The cover art for this special edition was done by Bellami Ruth Hoover, from Mrs. Lindsay Harris’ second-grade class at Selinsgrove Elementary School.
The Daily Item will provide a pizza party to Mrs. Harris’ classroom for providing the art selected for this year’s cover.
