Governments are instituted among humans to protect unalienable rights, the most important of which is the right to life. Ignore the priority to protect human life and you stand ready to lose liberty.
Social and economic conservatives each have stock in the others' primary concern. Human life thrives in a successful economy and the economy will not function at its peak without defending human life.
