For buildings with the same use and comparable typologies, sample building specifications are assessed (basic certificate) which are then used as the basis for certification of follow-up projects. You can also plan and/or optimise interiors and building operations according to this principle. As the first supermarket chain, the REWE Group now certifies most of its new markets in Germany in accordance with DGNB and saves around 40 percent in energy in a comparison to standard building.

With the DGNB Basic Certificate a detailed list of similarities is made available for the follow-up projects. This means that up to 80% of the required proof of evidence documentation can be submitted and checked in advance. This significantly reduces the costs spent on certification for the specific project. Then only the criteria that are still open and any possible deviations from the basic certificate need to be documented.
