INSTALLATION AND SETUP
SafeEdge is a protection cover that prevents falls and other injuries associated with open manholes on-board vessels and platforms.

The product is specifically designed to allow ventilation and utilities to remain accessible while still covering the hole and protecting the crew.
Before you begin
Step 1: Verify the completeness of your SafeEdge • Check that all components are attached properly and in a proper/safe working order. (Check that there are no loose parts) • Familiarise yourself with the usage of the separate segments of the SafeEdge cover. *fig.1

Step2: Locate area for use • Are the correct permits in place for the operation you are about to start? • Is the manhole the correct dimensions (600 x 400 mm) for use with the SafeEdge? Step 3: Before Positioning the SafeEdge • Loosen and remove the nuts that secure the manhole. *fig.2 • Remove the manhole cover. Step 4: Position the SafeEdge • With the cover closed, place the SafeEdge over the open manhole. *fig.3 • Ensure that the SafeEdge sits firmly over the protruding bolts.

Step 6: Maintenance of SafeEdge • Keep your SafeEdge clean. • When not in use, store “flat” in a safe and accessible place.

Step 5: Usage • The SafeEdge opens up fully to give access to workers. It can then be closed to prevent fall hazards. • The open segments at the hinge of the SafeEdge allow cables and small hoses free access, without leaving the cover open. • For larger hoses etc. the side segments can be used. *fig.4
