COMPANY INTRODUCTION

Dalseide Shipping Services AS was established in 1978 in Austevoll, Norway.

Austevoll has over many decades developed a strong tradition within the shipping industry ranging from shipbuilding through to fisheries. The hard and trying nature of the region has given the population and companies there a very strong connection and respect for the environment. It is in this environment that we developed Rustibus®.

We strive to produce our de-scaling machines to fulfil and surpass our customers’ expectations, with regard to both results and performance but also of equal importance, environment protection. It is of utmost importance to us that our Rustibus® machines do nothing to harm the environment they are used in.

RUSTIBUS® - The environmental friendly solution Rustibus® is designed to de-scale and power brush ship decks, hatch covers, tank tops, etc. free from old coating and rust.

Having used Rustibus® each variant leaves the surface clean up to ST3 +++ (SSPC-SP11 +++) . These standards are obtained without time consuming and costly methods of removing old paint and rust.

RUSTIBUS® SAFETY FIRST The Safety of our customers is of utmost importance to us and we make it our business to make your business safer.

Every Rustibus® electrical machine is fitted with a thermal-magnetic circuit breaker to protect the operator and the machine. Our two largest models, the Rustibus® 2000 and Rustibus® 1200 are all fitted with voltage trips to avoid sudden starting of the motor when power is restored should a power failure occur.

Rustibus® also offers our clients additional safety measures. This includes our specially designed Earth Breaker device for use with our electrical machines, see page 50.

Safety equipment such as helmet, gloves, glasses, footwear etc. are required when operating the machines.

RUSTIBUS® 2000 SERIES Rustibus® 2000 is made for de-scaling large surfaces such as hatch covers, tank tops, etc. The main consumable part for the Rustibus® 2000 is the Disposable Chain Drum. These drums do not require maintenance or parts replacement.

Simply use them until they are fully used and then change them with a new one.

The average lifetime of a fully used Disposable Chain Drum is approx. 500 m², all depending on the use and surface conditions. The realistic capacity is up to 30 m² per hour, achieving results of ST3 +++ (SSPC-SP11 +++) and ready for painting.

Rustibus® Pulley Removal Guide Take off the pulley: loosen the ‘umbrako-bolts’ (* fig.2) in the Bush. (See picture below) Place one of these bolts in the ‘Third hole’ (* fig.1)and tighten up the bolt until the Pulley is loose. Pull off the pulley by hand or use light tools.

Do not use an Adjustable Bearing Puller to do this!

NOTES ON BELT REMOVAL. Taking off and reinstalling the Belts can be done by turning the chain drum and using a screwdriver to lever off the belts.

RUSTIBUS® 30 SERIES The Rustibus® 30 Series are a range of lightweight hand tools designed for quick and efficient de-scaling using our renowned rotating chain drum system.

These machines are much faster, offer more flexibility, deliver far better results and are more userfriendly compared to scaling hammers, flexible shaft scalers, etc.

The Rustibus® 30 Series are ideal for spot-scaling (horizontal and vertical) and have proven to be very efficient for ballast tank maintenance.

RUSTIBUS® PIPE SERIES The Rustibus® Pipe Series are a range of mechanical machines designed for the sole purpose of de-scaling and cleaning outer pipe surfaces, in one 360 degree operation.

Rustibus® Pipe machine uses centrifugal force to drive the cleaning process, which is carried out by sets of rotating hammers with Cemented Carbide units.

These units hammer and scrape off paint and corrosion at a capacity of up to linear 75 ft/23 m per hour and can give a cleaning result of ST3 +++ (SSPC-SP11 +++). The Rustibus® Pipe Series are a cost effective and environmental friendly alternative for maintaining pipelines.

The Rustibus Pipe Tool has as part of an EX/ATEX approval of the system for ‘Category 2 Equipment for use in ZONE 1 explosive atmospheres’ in accordance with the EX/ATEX 94/9/EC directive and the harmonized European Standards EN 13463- 1 and EN 13463-5 undergone intense experimental testing in order to verify whether or not the tool can cause ignition when operated in explosive atmospheres of hexane-air mixtures. The tests that were performed in these explosive Hexane-air mixtures have shown that the Rustibus Pipe Tool does not produce a strong enough ignition source to ignite the explosive hexane-air mix atmospheres.* * Based on the tool being used how and for what it is intended.
