TERMS AND CONDITIONS 1. The terms of the sale are cash unless prior arrangements have been made. 2. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder. The person in charge will settle any disputes as to bids, and his decision on such matters shall be final. 3. Any announcement from the seller on sale day will take precedence over printed material. 4. Health certificates will be furnished for shipment anywhere in the United States. 5. Each animal becomes buyer’s risk as soon as sold; but it shall be the obligation of the seller to see that animals are fed and cared for, free of charge to purchaser, until loaded for shipment or until the expiration of November 15th of the current year. 6. All claims for adjustment for bred females must be made before May 1st of the following year. All claims for adjustment for heifer calves must be made by September 1st of the following year. 7. Everyone attending this sale does so at their own risk. Owners, clerks or other helpers do not assume responsibility, legal or otherwise, for damages of any kind. 8. Delivery costs and scheduling shall be the sole responsibility of the buyer. 9. A certificate of registry and transfer shall be furnished for each registered bred female sold at a final bid price of $1200 or higher. A certificate of registry and transfer shall be furnished for each registered heifer calf sold at a final bid price of $900 or higher. If final bid price is less than either of these amounts the cattle will be considered commercial. Certificates of registry may be purchased for the difference. 10. The above terms and conditions shall constitute a contract between the buyer and seller of each animal sold.

Within 20 miles of each other in the Bozeman region of Montana live four of the most recognizable and respected Red Angus breeders in North America. Collaboratively, these breeders have produced many stud bulls that are in the ranks of ABS, Genex and Accelerated Genetics, as well as many seedstock herds across the country. This offering will include dams, sisters, cousins and nieces to some of the most highly regarded Red Angus bulls in the industry.

In early September I drove to southwestern Montana and went through these cattle and I can tell you that the quality is superb. The beauty of the Big Sky Elite offering is that there is diversity. Every beef operation has its own needs when it comes to genetics and between the four cattle operations offered, I am sure you can find what you are looking for in a high quality animal from one or more of these four Red Angus programs. The cattle industry is certainly making some fast-paced changes these days. With the high cost of feed and other operating inputs, it is time for the high efficiency and easyfleshing abilities of Red Angus cattle. Heifer calves have sold to Larry Ellison for $6,000 for ¾ interest, and to Majestic Meadows for $7,500 for ½ interest. Larry Ellison sold his interest in that heifer calf to Wildcat Creek where they have said she is one of the top cows at their ranch, which is quite an accomplishment considering the cattle they have bought. Eighteen embryos have sold for an average of $750 a piece. 880 is still flushing well. The last two flushes have averaged seven embryos. This cow still has the ability to be a herd-impacting cow for the new owner. This is a nice group of Sim/Red Angus Cross heifers. Five of them are bred for the first part of February and one is later. They are all bred to Lucht Pasquale 923.
