Dundalk’s first league game at Tolka Park since 2013 ended in victory on Friday night as goals from Andy Boyle and Patrick Hoban sank Shels in the teeming rain.

Boyle opened the scoring against his old club when he found himself ideally placed at the far post to tap home after


Dane Massey flicked a Michael Duffy corner into his path.
Duffy was the provider for Dundalk’s second in the 43rd minute with Hoban’s glancing header whizzing past Shels goalkeeper Jack Brady.
Gary Deegan made a real game of it in the second half with a stunning effort but the Lilywhites dug in deep to

secure the win.
