INTEGRATED RIO SERVICES has found a way to avoid all of these costs.

We can use on-site soil, sand, and/or aggregates mixed with an inert soil binding solution to give you a strong, lasting solution. In addition, we provide the on-site advisory services and process training required to get you started.

Soil-Sement Engineered Formula is a high performance, critical application polymer emulsion designed to give exceptional dry strength and exceptional wet strength properties to road or sub-base engineered design and installation procedures.

Soil-Sement Engineered Formula is a special product that creates an engineered stabilized 2 to 8 inches layer with unique superior strength for roadways.

Soil-Sement Engineered Formula prepares sub grade for chip seal, paving, and milling applications.

What are the benefits of Soil-Sement Engineered Formula?

• Prevents surface deterioration against potholes, wash boarding, rutting and areas break-up • Provides a cumulative effect and creates a stabilized surface which will not shift or sink • Offers maximum weather ability of the road surface in all weather conditions • Increases load-bearing strength of all types of surfaces • Environmentally friendly • Enhances overall performance by not tracking • Provides a solid, cohesive polymer bound road surface which withstands traffic, loading abuses and extreme temperatures • Creates a smooth road which allows for better fuel efficiency and higher productivity • Minimizes airborne asphalt particles • Reduces road maintenance EK35: EK35; this is a patented synthetic organic dust control; a synthetic organic fluid formulated with a naturally-occurring pitch/rosin blend binder system that works to agglomerate fine silt or clay particles making them larger so they cannot become airborne. It is applied topically without a requirement for addition of water. The advantage is that it is long lasting and it will not be destroyed by mechanical damage to the surface by heavy or tracked vehicles.

The EK35 works as a dust suppressant and a soil binder that compactly holds together soil particles thereby preventing the soil particles from moving apart, leaving open space for water to occupy. The natural penetration and action of the traffic will continue to work the EK35 into the road surface. The EK35 will give the road surface the black color after the application to the road.

Frequently Asked Questions What is Soil-Sement?

Soil-Sement is a strong acrylic co-polymer (polymer emulsion) that is diluted with water for application and used for dust and erosion control, and soil stabilization. SoilSement’s long chain of polymer molecules penetrates the surface forming a strong hardbound surface.

Is Soil-Sement safe for the environment, equipment, and personnel?

Soil-Sement has been tested and approved by the U.S. EPA Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) Program, Canada ETV Program, CARB (California Air Resource Board) & Cal-Cert (California Environmental Technology Certification) Program and many other accredited programs, and is safe for personnel and the environment. In addition, it is non-corrosive to equipment.

Are all polymer products the same?

Not all polymers are the same. Midwest polymers are manufactured to rigid quality standards controlled by our verified and approved quality system. Soil-Sement is manufactured specifically for dust control and soil stabilization performance under all types of conditions. There are literally thousands of varieties of polymer emulsion chemistries available. Other polymers will perform poorly because they were never intended for dust control and soilstabilization applications. In addition to poor performance, these polymer emulsions’ are susceptible to degradation from exposure to ultraviolet rays, heat and bacteria, which can destabilize, cause unpleasant odors, and render them unusable in the theater of operation.

What is Soil-Sement used for?

Unpaved roads and shoulders, helicopter landing zones, tank trails, any type of stockpile (soil, salt, coal, aggregate, etc.), parking lots and unpaved open areas (concert venues, ball diamonds, construction sites, etc.), ash pond and tailings sites.

How do I determine the amount of Soil-Sement I will need?

IRS representatives can answer that question by taking the area you need treated, type of traffic and type of soil or material needing treated into consideration.

What personnel would be required and is there any special training required?

Typically, anyone can perform the application of our products with minimal training. We can provide all support necessary for application including our personnel operating in secure environments with you. We are also available for engineering support and training as required. You can also take advantage of our Turnkey Services and let us do all the work.

Is potable water required for dilution of Soil-Sement?

The water for dilution of Soil-Sement does not need to be potable. Most any fresh water source or seawater is compatible with SoilSement. A quick test can be performed in the field by mixing a small quantity of SoilSement with the water in a small container (jar or bottle). If after several minutes the mixture remains liquefied and smooth, the water is suitable for use. When finished spraying, flush the tanker with water until it runs clear.

What is the surface like once SoilSement has been applied?

Soil-Sement® will create a bonded yet pliable surface stopping particles of dust such as PM10 and PM2.5 from entering the air. It is white in appearance when applied but dries clear keeping the natural aesthetics of the surface.
