Interview: Three new Devonport writers… p18
The Keeping The Bastards Honest investigative fund for the Devonport Flagstaff has reached its target - and then some. Through fundraising website Kickstarter we called for donations from the public to fund official information requests, property searches and the like to uncover information to better inform our readers.
The Flagstaff set a target of $2,000 and we reached $2,120. We received money through the site, cheques in the post, bank deposits, cash coming into the office – even donations from people bumping into Flagstaff staff in the street. The campaign received New Zealand wide publicity when it was showcased on National Radio in the My Song slot on Simon Mercep’s
afternoon programme. We will be spending the money as the need arises over the next several months and will keep readers informed on which stories the fund has been used for. In the meantime thank you to all our backers for your very kind support. Rob Drent, Editor
