Thirty-three homes proposed for five sites A mix of 33 apartments and terraced houses are proposed on five standard sections in a new Ngati Whatua development at Bayswater. Whai Rawa – Ngati Whatua’s commercial arm – has applied to Auckland Council to develop five sites – 50 to 58 Roberts Ave – with a total land area of 3894 sqm into 33 dwellings.

The development will be three storeys with a maximum building height of 13.7m. The homes will be a mixture of terraced houses (six three bedroom) and apartments (26 two bedroom plus one one bedroom). Currently the Roberts Ave sites are single dwelling houses, previously held as Navy

accommodation. The application, which has yet to be approved by council, is the first stage of another major iwi development on the Devonport peninsula. “The wider Plymouth development has a land area of around 8.7 ha. To page 7
