“Olympics”

The DRIVE ResulTs

To say this year’s DRIVE was a huge success would be an understatement. The Student Ticket DRIVE is an annual event that is synonymous with school spirit at Catholic Central. Each year, students sell raffle tickets and collect money for tuition assistance. The seven school days that make up “DRIVE week” are comprised of half days and assemblies that promote school spirit and competition among the students, faculty, and staff. Even though last year’s virtual assemblies were successful, it was so good to be back in the normal assemblies where the school spirit was off the charts!

The theme for this year was “Olympics.” Each grade level represented a continent, and the homerooms represented countries within those continents. The seniors were Europe. The juniors were The Americas. The sophomores were Africa. The freshmen were Asia.

The grand total was an unbelievable $783,056.13. That money will go directly toward tuition assistance for next year’s students. Luke Butler ’22 broke his previous top salesman record by bringing in $55,555. Over his four years, Luke has brought in $129,315. For his efforts, Luke was awarded the David Bullock ’16 Spirit of the DRIVE Award.

Our Principal, Fr. Patrick Fulton, CSB, made it clear to the students that many families will be able to receive much-needed financial support toward tuition because of their efforts and generosity. For this achievement, Fr. Fulton rewarded the students with 15 DRIVE holidays.
