Jes s Christ, is the Reason for Catholic Central
Campus Crusade Reunions 2020-21
Like so much in society today, our Campus Crusade Reunions are affected by the pandemic.
The Catholic Central community prays together for the health and well being of our alumni at campuses throughout the world.
Campus Crusade Reunions will return in 2021.
Mary, Alma Mater
Mary, Alma Mater, your sons of Central honor, and trusting in your goodness, we hopefully implore that by your grace we may every day prove that we are men of Mary, Alma Mater. Inspire us evermore. Mary, Alma Mater, your sons of Central honor, and proudly wear your colors, the Royal Blue and White. May valiant Blue and peerless White teach us to be men of Mary, Alma Mater. Inspire us evermore. Greetings Fellow Alumni!
I am humbled and honored to have been elected as the new president of the Detroit Catholic Central Alumni Association. I want to take a moment and thank Scott Hauncher ’89 for his selfless efforts as president the past several years. It’s been a true pleasure working with you, Scott.
As I sit down to write my first article as your president, I am reflecting on what Catholic Central means to me, how my experiences as a student and an alumnus have shaped my life, and how the legacy of CC fits into the context of our world’s current circumstances. During these times of upheaval and uncertainty, it is more important than ever to lean back into the important relationships in our lives: God, family, and friends.
Catholic Central helped give us a foundation to develop and nourish those special relationships. Ninety-plus years after it was formed, CC continues the legacy of teaching, guiding, and molding young men with lessons that resonate throughout our lives.
The CC Alumni Association is here to help foster and continue our unique relationship with our school. Whether your last contact was last week or ten years ago, I urge each and every alumnus to take some time to reacquaint yourself with the school, through the website and other virtual avenues. CC students continue to thrive academically, spiritually, athletically, and in a myriad of extracurricular activities. This is truly an outstanding institution that we proudly call our Alma Mater.
The purpose of your Alumni Association is to help you stay connected through events and activities. Unfortunately, we have been forced to postpone in-person activities for the short term, but, as we emerge from this pandemic, I hope you will take advantage of these opportunities to connect with your fellow alumni. I guarantee you will be richer for the experience.
In closing, I want to offer a message of hope. God loves you! He loves each and every one of us. Take a moment to reflect on that. Reflect on how blessed we are to be CC alumni. As you go about your day, consider reaching out to other members of the Shamrock family and offer that same message of hope to them. It’s an incredibly powerful message that we all need now more than ever.
Remember, it’s always “a great day to be a Shamrock!”
Dave Brauer ’84
Alumni Association President

The mission of the Detroit Catholic Central Alumni Association is to provide services, benefits, and activities of interest to the alumni, to foster an alumni body which is interested and involved in the affairs and functions of the school, and to provide such assistance to the school as may from time to time be requested of it.
If you are interested in serving CC and the Alumni Association as a volunteer or member of the Board of Directors, please contact Dante Cerroni ’96, Nominations Chairman, at dante_cerroni@ml.com, or Tim Burke ’86, Director of Development and Alumni Relations, at tburke@catholiccentral.net.
