Staying Connected With Your Classmates THE NIFTY ’50s 1955 - GEORGE COLBURN has produced a new Ike documentary which will premiere in September during the week of the new Eisenhower memorial dedication in Washington, D.C. His new project is called, “The Shape of History” and is being created with a MacArthur Foundation Genius Fellow, an independent biologist by the name of Dr. Stuart Kauffman. “The project is all about how we are crushing the other living species in our biosphere and the ways we can halt our slide into disaster.”

THE TECHNO ’80s 1989 - DAVID ANDES recently completed his 21st and 22nd full marathons. Last October, he ran the Twin Cities Marathon in Minnesota. He was registered for the Pittsburgh Marathon last spring, but it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, he decided to run it virtually in the areas close to his home that still permitted outside activities at the time. It was not quite the same without the support of crowds or other runners, but his family made a finish line, and one of his daughters ran the 26th mile with him. David lives in Chicago with his wife and three daughters. He practices as a Clinical Social Worker with chronically homeless veterans in a long-term housing program at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Facility.

THE VIRTUAL ’00s 2001 - CHRIS MEAGHER served as the national press secretary for the former Mayor of South Bend, Indiana, and former presidential candidate, Pete Butttigieg. More recently, he has been helping Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer as she works on the state’s response to COVID-19.

THE CONNECTED ’10s 2010 - SEAN CARNEY graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Ph.D. in Mathematics in May 2020.

He earned his undergraduate degrees from the University of Michigan in Physics and Mathematics. This fall, Sean will start post-graduate research and teach at UCLA.

2010 - THOMAS LORENZ and his wife, Valerie Kissau, were married on February 8, 2020, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Brighton. The reception was held at Glen Oaks Country Club in Farmington Hills.

2011 - FR. JOHN VINTON was ordained to the priesthood in the Diocese of Lansing by Bishop Earl Boyea on June 13, 2020, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in East Lansing.

Fr. Vinton is currently serving as Parochial Vicar at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Ann Arbor.

2014 - ANDREW HINRICHS has been very busy in the six years since his graduation as a Shamrock. In 2018, he graduated from the University of Dayton with a degree in Marketing and Sales. Since then, he has been working as an independent financial advisor in the metro-Detroit area. Upon completion of his undergraduate studies, he immediately passed his Series 66, Series 7, and Life and Health Insurance exams. Like most, Andrew has been hard at work over the past few months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, he has helped clients navigate through their financial situation, while also pursuing his M.B.A. in Finance at Wayne State University.

After he receives his degree, Andrew is going to pursue further education through a financial designation of C.F.P. (Certified Financial Planner).

2014 - COLLIN CUMMINGS had the prestigious honor of being hired as Special Assistant to the Governor of Maryland, Larry Hogan, on January 2, 2019. Commonly referred to in politics as a “body man,” Collin is a civilian personal aide who accompanies the Governor everywhere he goes and is his “right hand” man. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Collin has been involved in coordinating the day-to-day operations of the state response, many national media appearances, and travels extensively with Governor Hogan, who is also the Chairman of the National Governors Association. Collin graduated from Marquette University in 2018 and studied International Affairs.

Bill Hermann ’68 - CC Author Shares His Insights Bill Hermann ’68 built his career at Plante Moran by paying attention to the needs of each client and each staff person, and then figuring out how to meet their needs.

His determination to meet those needs involved skill, dedication, and a willingness to create a new way to serve.

Now that Bill is retired, he has cast his net wider and is sharing those same gifts with the world.

Bill Hermann came to Plante Moran at the age of 20, working as a proofreader. He completed his years at Plante Moran by serving two terms as Managing Partner, from 2001 to 2009, leading the firm on a growth trajectory during which it expanded its geographic footprint and broadened its service capabilities, all while maintaining its presence on the Fortune list of the “100 Best Companies to work for.” Based on his experience and on the culture of the organization, Bill and his successor, Gordon Krater, co-authored “Succession Transition: A Roadmap for Seamless Transitions in Leadership.”

During his tenure as Managing Partner Emeritus, he has mentored, consulted, and lectured, sharing the strong organizational culture and methods of leadership.

This most recent phase of his career led to the concept for his next book, “Giving the Gift of a Career: A Roadmap of Individually Focused Staff Development.” Concentrating on the individual’s personal and professional growth is the major theme, and it demonstrates how this attention leads to growth and success for the individual as well as for the organization.

In the opening pages of his second book, he sends kudos to Mr. Robert Scheuermann, “esteemed former English teacher at Catholic Central-and apologies for any dangling participles.” Bill reflected that his philosophy of leadership and staff development is a cumulative effect, starting with Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge that became a part of him during his years at Catholic Central. That evolved into the approach he took toward the people he worked with and for: “Do the right thing for the right reason, and you’ll get the right result.”

Drew Davis ‘15 featured in The ‘Ville

SPARTY ON! Northville’s Davis completes 4-year run as MSU’s beloved mascot reprinted with permission - The ‘Ville - June 2019 - www.thevillemagazine.com During his four years attending Michigan State University, Northville’s Drew Davis had a pretty unique vantage point of the MSU landscape – through the enormous eyes of Sparty. He is part of a select group of students to play the role of MSU’s buff, fist-pumping mascot well known for firing up fans at Spartan football and basketball games.

Over the course of his four years on campus, Davis, 22, served as Sparty at more than 300 events all over the country. It was a dream job for the third generation Spartan, who has always been a huge MSU fan growing up in Northville.

One of Drew’s final events as Sparty was traveling to Northville’s Winchester Elementary School as part of March is Reading Month, earlier this spring. He strutted through the same halls he once walked through as a young student, greeting and inspiring today’s students at Winchester.

The ‘Ville caught up with Drew, a 2015 Catholic Central grad, to discuss his experiences as Sparty and what the future holds.

The ’Ville: How and why did you decide to don the Sparty character?

Drew: During my summer orientation, I talked to someone within the Alumni Association (the department that Sparty is under) and asked them about trying out. The person working the orientation table gave me some info and his contact information. That first fall in college, he asked if I was able to help “escort” Sparty (which means to help

take Sparty to events) and I did that a few times before the application opened up. Once it did, I applied, went through a few interviews, went through a “try-on” process where I got to try the suit on and made sure I wasn’t claustrophobic, and it was still something I wanted to do.

The ’Ville: How many times did you play Sparty?

Drew: I was Sparty for over 300 events. I actually have a journal of

Drew: Actually, they were some of the most well-behaved kids I’ve seen out of all the schools I’ve been to. They were great though. I always love seeing MSU fans get excited when Sparty comes around, but also love seeing the U of M kids boo you or give you a thumbs down. Michigan fans are always fun to mess with and actually want just as many pictures as MSU fans.

It was definitely a surreal feeling coming back to the school you started at when you’re about to graduate. The teachers at Winchester rock so it was great seeing them and the school from the different perspective within the suit. Everything still felt smaller, though.

It’s been a true pleasure working with you, Scott.

As I sit down to write my first article as your president, I am reflecting on what Catholic Central means to me, how my experiences as a student and an alumnus have shaped my life, and how the legacy of CC fits into the context of our world’s current circumstances.

During these times of upheaval and uncertainty, it is more important than ever to lean back into the important relationships in our lives: God, family, and friends.

Catholic Central helped give us a foundation to develop and nourish those special relationships. Ninety-plus years after it was formed, CC continues the legacy of teaching, guiding, and molding young men with lessons that resonate throughout our lives.

The CC Alumni Association is here to help foster and continue our unique relationship with our school. Whether your last contact was last week or ten years ago, I urge each and every alumnus to take some time to reacquaint yourself with the school, through the website and other virtual avenues. CC students continue to thrive academically, spiritually, athletically, and in a myriad of extracurricular activities. This is truly an outstanding institution that we proudly call our Alma Mater.

The purpose of your Alumni Association is to help you stay connected through events and activities. Unfortunately, we have been forced to postpone in-person activities for the short term, but, as we emerge from this pandemic, I hope you will take advantage of these

In 2006, the Detroit Catholic Central Administration announced and recognized the first class of The Detroit Catholic Central Athletic Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame acknowledges the contributions and accomplishments of the individuals and teams which have earned recognition and have provided excellent examples of Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge.

Due to COVID-19 safety and social distance requirements outlined in the State of Michigan’s Safe Start guidelines and phases, CC is postponing all reunions and Boys’ Bowl Weekend events, including the Athletic Hall of Fame Inductions, until 2021. Dates to be determined.

If there is one thing CC takes great pride in, it is the fact that we try so hard to never miss an opportunity to say THANK YOU to those who have such a significant role in making CC great - our benefactors.

Since moving to Novi in the fall of 2005, we have tried to recognize and thank our donors in several displays throughout the building. However, after 15 years, we are running out of wall space to be able to properly honor them.

Technology was the solution to our dilemma.

In March 2020, just prior to the order to close school because of the pandemic, work was started on the purchase and programming of a 65” Interactive Video Monitor that now graces the wall adjacent to the entrance of the Office of Advancement & Alumni Relations.

Featured on this monitor is the list of all of our donors, including those who give annually to the Annual Fund, Endowment Fund, and Memorial Fund. Additionally, those who gave to our “Teach Us To Be Men” campaign (2013-2018) have finally found a place to be permanently recognized. Information also includes members of the Fr. Richard Elmer, C.S.B. ’46 Society and the St. Basil Legacy Society. You can even meet your Advancement Team!

We are excited about the future, because there is no limit to space on this monitor. Work has already begun to add alumni photos, class composite photos, historical facts, and school history. It is our hope that someday you will be able to find individual alumni photos listed both alphabetically and by class. Perhaps someday, digital yearbooks will be accessible on this monitor.

FAITH OVER FEAR: An Update from CC Pres i dent, E d Turek ’85 In these uncertain times, how has CC remained committed to teaching Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge in a healthy and safe environment?

GOODNESS • First and foremost, we remain founded in our faith. We will continue to have Mass, either outside or live streamed to the classrooms and to each home. As we proudly display in our entry hall: Jesus Christ is the reason for Catholic Central. We know that we must constantly turn to Him and rely on our faith to remain committed to our students.

• It is important we remain focused on our holistic approach to caring for the whole person. We are focused on the overall wellness of the young men - especially their mental health - while returning to the rigor and traditional excellence of a CC education.

• I also must thank our donors for the goodness they have shown during this time. Many of our alumni were tuned in to the ways the pandemic would have a profound effect on our mission and reached out to lead. Without the tremendous support we received, we would not have been able to install new technology and safety measures so quickly. We are truly prepared to continue teaching no matter what stage of the pandemic we are in, and it is all thanks to our donors’ goodness.

DISCIPLINE • None of this works without discipline! Our students - whether at home or in the building - are adhering to our dress code and expected behavior. We now have the additional responsibility of wearing masks, completing self-screens and temperature checks before entering the building, and maintaining social distancing. It takes discipline to do all of that on top of the academic work.

What is the best way for alumni, parents, and friends to support the mission of CC? We appreciate and rely entirely on their prayers and financial support. Yet, right now, more than ever, we need open minds and open hearts in support of our efforts.

Overall, what is your feeling about the current situation at Catholic Central?

CC is strong. We have a great foundation, a growing endowment, and people who are truly dedicated to the mission.

• We also need to remain disciplined in our efforts to continue learning how to utilize our new technology and fight through the little hiccups that appear. Our students need to log in, on time, from home during class, and the students in the building need to come prepared with a charged device. We might not throw backpacks out windows anymore, but the students need to be prepped for class!

KNOWLEDGE • We remain committed to excellence, and that requires us to be flexible. We continue to collect information and are consistently evaluating our offerings. A survey that went out at the end of the first week sought to gauge family satisfaction, and more than 93% of responses were positive.

• Our teachers continue to train! They have spent hours learning new information, sharing tips and best practices in preparation for the year, and will continue to train throughout the year.

• We are also keeping the rigor of the classes at a high level. Whether students are in the building or logged on from home, the engagement levels, workload, and expectations remain the same.

CC Return To School Plan Since our school building was closed, and classes were forced to move to a virtual learning experience last March, our school administration, faculty, and staff have been working hard to create a plan to mitigate the risk of exposure and allow our students to return to the school building this fall and continue learning in a safe and responsible way. All the while, our work has been guided by one simple concept:

Those workouts have continued into the school year, and athletics have resumed under the direction of the Michigan High School Athletic Association and the Detroit Catholic High School League.

After a 41-year career in Catholic education, Jim Gavin retired in 2016 from Catholic Central where he served as an English teacher and guidance counselor. Upon his retirement, Jim was gifted a Fitbit from a friend. A lifelong runner, Jim put it to good use.

Jim and his wife, Suzy, have a son named Jimmy. In 1984, Jimmy was diagnosed with Angelman’s Syndrome, a rare neuro-genetic disorder causing developmental disabilities and nerve-related symptoms.

Over the years, Jim, Suzy, and Jimmy have enjoyed walks together.

However, after Jim retired, he and Jimmy began walking several times a day. Thanks to the Fitbit, Jim has been able to track the number of miles he and Jimmy have walked over the last four years. On April 23, 2020, Jim and Jimmy surpassed 24,900 miles, the distance around the earth.

The milestone was highlighted in a June article on runnersworld.com.

Concludes Three Generations at CC with Conor Ronayne ’20

In 2020, the Ronayne family celebrated the conclusion of three generations at CC with the graduation of Conor ’20, the son of Kelly Ronayne ’83 and 36th grandchild of Dr. Jack ’37 and Mary Ronayne.

Eighty-three years ago, Dr. John (Jack) Ronayne Jr. graduated from Detroit Catholic Central High School. Since 1937, Conor is the 35th graduate on the Ronayne CC family tree. Conor is a wonderful young man, and his ancestors are surely proud of him.

Ronayne Shamrocks have often attended CC with multiple siblings and cousins. For example in 2006-07, there were six cousins at the school: Matthew Helmkamp ’07, Ian Ronayne ’08, Louis Ronayne III ’09, Carl Matherly ’10, Patrick McBride ’10, and Joseph Anstett ’10.

When Conor was a freshman, his cousins Kyle Ronayne ’18 and Gunnar Matherly ’17 were there to greet him. It will be a few years before we expect another Ronayne at CC! The Ronayne family extends its gratitude to the Basilian Fathers and the many teachers at Catholic Central for educating three generations of Ronayne men.

Current Events at Catholic Central

Class of 2020 Commencement Moved to Fr. Elmer Stadium Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Catholic Central’s 2020 Commencement Ceremony was postponed and eventually held on Friday, July 17, 2020, in Fr. Richard Elmer Stadium on the campus of Detroit Catholic Central High School.

Mark Holowicki Jr. ’20 was recognized as the Fr. Daniel Dillon Award recipient as academic Valedictorian, and Daniel Cernak ’20 was honored as the academic Salutatorian. Brendin Yatooma ’20 was recognized as the recipient of the Fr. James Whelan Award. Caleb White ’20 was named the recipient of the Fr. Richard Ranalletti Award for outstanding Christian service.

Caleb White gave the Salutatory Address, and Andrew Lobbia ’20 gave the Valedictory Address.

The Dedication to Mary was given by Jacob Seabolt ’20.

Rev. Daniel L. Dillon, C.S.B. Award Mark Holowicki Jr. ’20 Earns the Rev. Daniel L. Dillon Award Mark Holowicki Jr.’20, was named the academic Valedictorian and presented with one of Catholic Central’s most prestigious honors, the Rev. Daniel L. Dillon Award.

The Dillon Award, named in honor of Catholic Central’s first principal, Rev. Daniel L. Dillon, C.S.B., is given annually to the senior with the highest cumulative grade point average over four years.

At Catholic Central, Mark earned Permanent Gabriel Richard Club honors, was recognized as a National Merit Commended Student, and graduated with a 4.927 G.P. A. He is continuing his education at the University of Notre Dame.

Rev. James H. Whelan, C.S.B. Award Brendin Yatooma ’20 Selected as Recipient of the Rev. James H. Whelan Award Brendin Yatooma ’20 was presented with one of Catholic Central’s most prestigious honors, the Rev. James H. Whelan Award.

The Whelan Award, named in honor of Catholic Central’s fourth principal, Rev. James H. Whelan, C.S.B., is given annually to a senior who has excelled academically, is an outstanding athlete, and is looked upon by his peers as a Christian gentleman.

Brendin was a four-year member of the Football program where he was awarded three varsity letters, selected to serve as a senior captain, and earned All-Catholic and All-State honors. Brendin helped lead the Shamrock Football Team to three consecutive CHSL Central Division Championships.

Brendin was also a four-year member of the Wrestling program where he was awarded four varsity letters, earned three All-State honors, and was selected to serve as a senior captain. Brendin helped lead the Shamrock Wrestling Team to four Division 1 State Championships, while also winning Individual State Championships in his junior and senior seasons. He was named to the Wrestling USA All-American Honorable Mention Team.

Brendin maintained a 3.876 G.P. A., earned Academic All-State honors, and served as Senior Class President. Furthermore, he was named the CHSL Walt Bazylewicz Male Athlete of the Year. He is continuing his academic and athletic career at the University of Michigan.

Rev. Richard Ranalletti, C.S.B. Award Caleb White ’20 Selected as Recipient of the Rev. Richard A. Ranalletti Award Caleb White ’20 was selected as the recipient of the Rev. Richard A. Ranalletti Award for outstanding Christian character.

The Ranalletti Award, named in honor of Catholic Central’s 18th principal and second president, the late Rev. Richard A. Ranalletti, C.S.B., was established in 2016 by former CC principal Fr. Dennis Noelke, C.S.B. ’71 and is given annually to the senior who has demonstrated Christian character and values during his years as a student at Catholic Central as nominated by his peers.

The criteria for this award include: • embraces and fosters Christian values; • respectful and patient in his interactions with others; • demonstrates self-discipline in words and actions; • shows a willingness to be of service within the school community and the greater metropolitan Detroit area, beyond the school requirement • evidences compassion to others; • makes responsible decisions; • is an example of Christian behavior and action to his peers.

Caleb founded the Caleb White Project, a Detroitbased non-profit with a two-fold mission: to help the homeless and less fortunate and to build youth leaders through volunteerism. Caleb has been recognized with numerous local, state, and national community service awards.

During his time at Catholic Central, Caleb was a four-year member of the Wrestling program, where he was awarded four varsity letters, was a two-time State Qualifier, and was selected to serve as a senior captain. Caleb helped lead the Shamrock Wrestling Team to four Division 1 State Championships, while also earning Academic All-State honors. He maintained a 4.229 G.P. A., was a member of the National Honor Society, and is currently attending the University of Michigan.

ATTENTION ALUMNI MOMS Every year, the Mothers’ Club Alumni Committee hosts two dinners, one is in September, and another is in December. All alumni moms are welcome. These dinners are a great opportunity to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones. Tristan Croteau ’20 - 100 High School Students America Needs to Know About Tristan Croteau ’20 was chosen out of thousands of students to be recognized by Workforce Career Readiness among the “100 High School Students America Needs to Know About.”

Tristan was a three-year member of DECA, an international business and marketing organization, and was the president of his high school chapter in 2019-2020. In competition, he earned a District championship, State Finalist honors, and a State Championship in the Marketing and Management Team Decision Making event.

Tristan was also selected to participate in the Elevate Leadership Conference at the DECA International Conference in Orlando, Florida, and the DECA Ultimate Power Trip in Washington D.C., where he participated in workshops to develop financial, economic, business, and entrepreneurial literacy. He also led CC’s DECA chapter in the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Michigan Fundraising challenge, which collected over $18,000. Last year, he was selected by Northwood University as the High School Junior Business Student of the Year.

Tristan was also the president of the Shamrocks for Veterans Club. In January 2020, he was awarded a citation by the Veterans of Foreign Wars for his Voice of Democracy audio speech, which focused on how our nation responded to 9 /11 and how it has influenced his career interests.

Caleb White ’20 Selected to Honor the Class of 2020 on iHeart Radio and Doritos Podcast The COVID-19 pandemic drastically changed the spring semester of the 2019-2020 school year.

Among those most affected was the Class of 2020. Because of a mandated online education and statewide Stay at Home Order, the seniors were unable to finish their high school careers by experiencing the activities and events associated with graduation.

To honor the Class of 2020, iHeart Radio teamed up with Doritos and launched a podcast with several commencement addresses given by celebrities. Additionally, five members of the Class of 2020 from across the country earned the honor to deliver their own commencement addresses and received $50,000 in tuition assistance from Doritos. Caleb White ’20 was one of those selected out of thousands of submissions to deliver a speech to his class. His message to the Class of 2020 was:

“Dear COVID-19, you’ve caused us pain and heartache, but you will never cause us to break. Look, we have nothing in common with you, for God’s sake. We’ve come together as givers, and you’ve continued to take.

First it was sports, then Prom, then Graduation. We watched from our homes as you swept through the nation. COVID-19, you may temporarily confine us, but let us be clear, you will never define us.

You did, however, graciously remind us that disappointment and grief have the power to align us.

We are stronger than ever, this class that you’ve stolen from. In fact, watch out world, because here we come. We will never abandon ship.

We will still win championships. Because that thing on our shoulder, yeah, that’s a chip. The dances and sports that you’ve taken away will mean so little when we’re leading the world some day.

We will use your servitude to enhance our gratitude. We will use your ability to be infective to remind us to keep life in perspective.

COVID-19, people are starving because of you, and we’re stepping up to feed them.

Thank you for giving us a quarantine that will remind us to appreciate our freedom.

You messed with the wrong class if you wanted to slow our progress, because we will turn all of your disappointments into success. So Class of 2020, stand up with me and take a bow, because there is nobody more prepared to lead than we are right now.”

admissions update WHAT’S NEW? It has been a wild few months in admissions!

Due to the spike in interest as we started the school year (some families finally realized what they’d be missing when they compared our return to school plan with other options), we reached the first “wait list” in a very long time. Families interested in CC have been asked to submit a complete application, and we will take another look at our availability for a January start.

As we move into the 2020-2021 admissions cycle, we are looking at a few changes in response to the challenges presented by COVID-19. More than half of our applicants will have been away from the school building since March when they apply in November, and we are unable to offer shadow days, which normally bring more than 400 potential students through our front doors each year.

We are adapting! Just as our teachers have adapted to new technology, we are doing the same in Admissions.

Video meetings with families and online interviews with students are just a few ways we are keeping in touch with our potential families. We are also working on a way to utilize our LE@D program to allow for students to spend a virtual day with us, which will go a long way towards showing how interactive our classes really are.

We ended up with a fantastic class of 2024 and are truly appreciative to all of you who helped contribute, either by sending your son, a friend, or simply positive support. We enrolled 219 freshmen (well above the 185 projection in the fall) in a time of great uncertainty and financial hardship. Our enrollment remains strong.

I have had some recent conversations with younger alumni who viewed CC’s tuition as “out of reach” for their sons, due to the difference in tuition now compared to when they were a Shamrock… I promise that we work very hard to keep the same experience within reach for you. Our Tuition Assistance remains strong (THANK YOU DONORS), and we are consistently able to work with families who communicate with us and reach out early in the process. The worst thing you can do is not reach out!

During his athletic career at CC, Brendin won seven varsity letters and served as captain for both the varsity football and wrestling teams.

As a football player, Brendin earned All-Catholic and All-State honors. As a wrestler, Brendin earned three-consecutive All-State honors and won back-to-back individual state championships. He also earned Academic All-State honors and was an All-American Honorable Mention. His peers at CC voted him the Fr. James Whelan Award winner as a senior.

He now continues his academic and wrestling career at the University of Michigan.

CC Athletes Recognized at Detroit Free Press Sports Awards The 2020 Detroit Free Press Sports Awards ceremony was held virtually in June due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

To make the virtual ceremony as special as possible, professional athletes and coaches presented the award finalists and announced the winners. Several CC athletes were among those honored for excellence during the 2019- 2020 high school sports seasons.

Conor Brownell ’20 was a finalist for the Boys Swimmer of the Year after his All-American season this past winter.

The award was presented by Olympic champion, Michael Phelps. Conor is continuing his swimming career at Oakland University.

Brendan Miles ’20 was honored as the Hockey Player of the Year after his All-State season this past winter.

The award was presented by hockey legend, Wayne Gretzky.

Josh Edmond ’20 was honored as the Wrestler of the Year. Derek Gilcher ’20 was a finalist for the Wrestler of the Year.

Both Josh and Derek won their thirdconsecutive individual state championships and were named All-Americans this past winter. The award was presented by Olympic Champion, Jordan Burroughs.

Josh is continuing his wrestling career at the University of Missouri, and Derek is continuing his wrestling career at Indiana University.

The CC Wrestling Team was a finalist of Team of the Year. The Shamrocks, led by coach Mitch Hancock ’00, won their fourth-consecutive state championship and finished the season ranked #5 in the country. The award was presented by the coach of the NFL’s New England Patriots, Bill Belicheck.
