THE GROOVY ’70s 1970 - DCN. ERIC ELSTRO was ordained a permanent deacon in the Archdiocese of Lansing on May 18, 2019.

1974 - PAUL NOETZEL lives in Austin, Texas, and works for Cushman & Wakefield where he was elevated to a national role to help lead Asset Services’ deliverables for Project Trinity. He is a member of their account management team and serves as a liaison between key institutional clients and their platform to promote growth, profitability, and operational best practices to drive performance excellence.

1977 - BILL WYMAN lives in Princeton, New Jersey, with his wife, Therese. This year marks their 35th wedding anniversary. They recently welcomed their first grandchild, Penny Rose DeLuca.

THE HAPPENING ’90s 1991 - STEVEN SHANNON was recently promoted to full professor and named the next director of graduate programs for the nuclear engineering program at North Carolina State University. He will oversee the third-ranked nuclear engineering program in the country based on the most recent US News and World Report rankings of graduate programs.

1994 - MATTHEW McGIVNEY was recently appointed Judge of Michigan’s 44th District Court by Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

THE VIRTUAL ’00s 2000 - DAN CASSAR and his wife, Melissa, were married on August 18, 2018.

2005 - MIKE OAKLEAF and his wife, Sara Droze, were married on November 17, 2018, by Fr. John Wheeler, C.S.B. ’57 at Sweetest Heart of Mary in Detroit.

2006 - JOHN BALLARIN V and his wife, Katie, welcomed twin boys, Luke and Jake, on June 5, 2019. They join older brother, John VI.

THE CONNECTED ’10s

2012 - HUNTER McDANIEL and his wife, Alison Widner, were married on June 16, 2018, at Our Lady of Sorrows. The couple met while attending the University of Notre Dame. They welcomed their first child, Mason Lewis, on March 10, 2019. Mason was born five weeks prematurely and weighed 5 lbs. The family currently resides in Fitchburg, Wisconsin.

2015 - ANDREW BELANGER graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in May 2019 as a Second Lieutenant.

2015 - WILLIAM GALARDI, ALEC McCARTHY, JOHN STEVELINCK JR., LUKE STEVENSON, CHRISTOPHER VARGOVICK, and CHRISTOPHER VARLAMOS graduated from the University of Michigan in spring 2019. William graduated with a B.S. in biology and is heading to Vanderbilt University to pursue a Master’s Degree in biological sciences. Alec McCarthy graduated

with a B.S.E. in computer science and is moving to Madison, Wisconsin, to pursue software development at Epic Systems. John graduated with a B.A. in cognitive science and is heading to the Wake Forest University School of Law. Luke graduated with a B.A. in film, television, and media and is moving to Los Angeles, California, to pursue a career in film production. Christopher Vargovick graduated with a B.S.E. in mechanical engineering and is moving to Detroit to perform consulting work for Accenture. Christopher Varlamos graduated with a B.S. in psychology and is planning to attend medical school.

2015 - BENJAMIN GEORGE graduated from the United States Naval Academy in May 2019. He graduated with distinction (#53 out of over 1,100) with a B.S. in aerospace engineering and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant into the United States Marine Corps. He is attending The Basic School (TBS) in Quantico, Virginia, and after graduation, will be attending flight school in Pensacola, Florida, to become a Marine Aviator.

2015 - SCOTT SPITLER recently started a company, Kuhmute, which is an electric scooter ride-share that features smart-charging hubs with a goal to keep scooter fleets organized and charged. Scott graduated from Kettering University with a degree in computer science and computer engineering.

2016 - ANDREW CONNOR and TYLER JOHNSON climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and reached the summit, Uhuru Peak, on July 8th, at 12:03 pm EAT.

2017 - BEN SMITH won the Michigan Amatuer Golf Championship at Oakland Hills Country Club in June. Additionally, he was the medalist after two rounds of stroke-play. Ben is currently a member of the Georgia Tech Golf Team.

2018 - NICK PARROS has become a professional wakesurfer. As mentioned in the Winter 2018 Aluminator, Nick won both the national and world amateur championships in 2017.
