Welcome Dear Parents / Guardians,
Thank you for taking the time to look at Luckley House’s Bus Service for the 2022-2023 academic year. This is the second version of such a guide, which sets out the wide range of travel options available to the pupils at Luckley House. From September 2022, we are keeping all routes, and at all times. However, differently to normal, we are asking parents to make a booking by the end of June 2022. In July 2022, we will then review the routes to ensure that they are operating the most efficiently and make any changes. Please note, therefore, that timings might change slightly. In addition, we are also making changes to the fare structure on the service and bringing it in line with other schools. To this end, bookings are now to be made on an AM only, PM only, or return basis, and the booking has to be made for the full academic year. Parents will continue to be able to provide one full terms notice in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of Travel. Ad-hoc travel will continue to be offered, but at a higher rate. When making your booking, please do not be concerned that you must select a particular afternoon bus (early or late) as this is a completely flexible service, which can be changed on the day of travel to cater for various after school commitments.
This guide provides an overview of the School Coach Service network and contains further details including fare and timetable information. All bookings for all routes can be made via the dedicated transport website at luckleyhouseschool.vectare.co.uk. The website allows you to book travel 24/7 from anywhere in the world, meaning that if you need to leave early for work one morning or you are running late and you would like your child to travel on a school coach as a one off, you can make a booking right up until the coach is due to depart. Payments for school coach travel continue to be made on the website, so students are not required to carry cash with them to use the coach service. All of our vehicles are modern, easy-to-board and are operated either by Luckley House School or our highly-trusted coach operators. They are all regularly maintained to the highest standard, with seat belts fitted to every seat, giving you peace of mind that all of our pupils travel in safety.
We use dedicated drivers who work on regular routes. They get to know the pupils and are subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and full MiDAS / CPC training.
Bookings can be made at any time via the online booking system. All annual passes can be booked on a termly basis, and you can simply pay by credit or debit card at the time of booking. Subject to availability, ad-hoc and weekly bookings will also be possible.
Our school bus network consists of 60+ bus stops, and we also have a direct shuttle from Wokingham Station. 1. This agreement is made between all school bus passengers, their parents, and Luckley House School in order to provide safe, comfortable and civilised journeys for all passengers. 2. Arrangements for pupils’ journeys to and from school are the responsibility of their parents. To assist with discharging this responsibility, Luckley House School provides a School Bus Service. Parents are responsible for their children at all times including both prior and after boarding and alighting. 3. Transport on the School Bus Service must be arranged in advance and is paid for using credit or debit card. 4. Bookings on the School Bus Service are non-refundable in the event of a pupil failing to travel. 5. Bookings are to be made online via luckleyhouseschool.vectare.co.uk 6. Each pupil for whom an online form has been submitted will be added to a bus list detailing the service they travel on, their bus stops and what travel has been paid for. Their name will appear on a list, which will be checked by the driver. 7. It is the parent’s responsibility to inform the School via the Contact Us form on the website if they no longer wish for their child to use the School Bus Service. One full term’s notice must be given by a parent prior to the removal of a pupil from the School Bus Service (apart from an ad hoc journey). 8. If you wish for your child to use the School Bus Service on an ad hoc basis, or to vary the details of their bus travel as a one-off, you should book travel via the online website prior to travel. A charge of £5.00, £7.50 or £12.50 per single journey is levied for individual trips depending on location.
9. No pupil is permitted to travel on the School Bus Service if not pre booked for that bus, as they will not be insured to travel. Other arrangements for journeys to and from School must be made by them or their parents. 10. Pupils must travel to and from Luckley House School in full school uniform or a full school tracksuit (except on approved non-uniform days). 11. Pupils should be at the bus stop 5 minutes before the scheduled time of departure, to ensure they don’t miss the service. 12. Good conduct is required at all times. Bullying, shouting, use of foul language, dropping litter, playing music, or any other misbehaviour is strictly forbidden. 13. Except when embarking or disembarking, all passengers must remain seated with their seatbelts fastened correctly. 14. Whilst on a School Bus, all passengers must accept without question the authority of a member of Luckley House School member of staff, transport company official, school prefect or bus monitor, who may ask them to obey any reasonable instruction such as to pick up litter, desist from certain actions or to move to a different seat. 15. Failure to comply with these conditions may result in disciplinary action, including temporary or permanent withdrawal of permission to use the School Bus Service. 16. Luckley House School aims for 95% of journeys to operate within the transport industry window of tolerance of one minute early to five minutes late, however timings may vary due to traffic conditions or unforeseen circumstances. Drivers will not wait past the scheduled departure time.
