New Staff from January 2025

It gives me great pleasure to welcome the following new staff to Luckley:

MRS NATHALIE BOYER-CASTLE – HEAD OF GEOGRAPHY

With a warm welcome, I introduce Mrs Nathalie Boyer-Castle as our new Head of Geography. Mrs Boyer-Castle is joining us from Western Australia where she has been working for the last year as a Teacher of Geography at Hedland Senior School and most recently at Perth College Before heading to Australia, Mrs Boyer-Castle had been teaching Geography at GEMS Wellington Academy and Hartland International School in Dubai.

Mrs Boyer-Castle has over 25 years ’ teaching experience and has been in a leadership position for most of her teaching career Her most recent position in the UK was Director of Sport & Teacher of PE and Geography at St Mary’s School in Dorset, where she worked for 15 years.

Mrs Boyer-Castle has a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise with Physical Geography and a PGCE from Cheltenham and Gloucester College of Higher Education and she is a member of the Geographical Association in the UK and Western Australia. Mrs Boyer-Castle is passionate about Geography being at the forefront of every child’s education and brings her passion to the classroom through her own geographical experiences

MRS ISABELLE MANDERS-JONES – TEACHER OF MFL

As Mrs Holly Hinz leaves Luckley after 7 years ’ exceptional service, we welcome Mrs Isabelle Manders-Jones as our new Teacher of MFL. Mrs Manders-Jones joins us from Heathfield School where she has been teaching French and Spanish. She brings a wealth of knowledge from her experience of teaching Modern Foreign Languages in several countries around the world, including France, Malaysia, Qatar, China, Mexico and Spain to name just a few

Mrs Manders-Jones has a BA (Hons) in Modern Languages from Goldsmiths College, University of London, and a PGCE from Trinity College, University of Cambridge She is passionate about supporting her students and strives to develop their confidence in their own abilities and their belief that any goal is achievable

MR DAMON HILL – TEACHER OF HISTORY

As Mr Sebastian Phillips leaves Luckley to take on a challenging new role as Head of Religious Studies at George Abbot School, and Mrs Vicki Stratton takes on the role of Head of History and Politics at Luckley, Mr Damon Hill joins us as our new Teacher of History.

Mr Hill joins us from The Wren School where he has worked for the last year as a Teacher of History Prior to that, Mr Hill worked at Reddam House for six years as Teacher of History, Head of Year, and Head of Outdoor Education managing the Duke of Edinburgh Award and CCF

Mr Hill has over 25 years ’ experience of teaching History both in the UK and in New Zealand. He holds a bachelor’s degree in both the Arts (History and English) and Education and a Diploma in Teaching from the University of Waikato, New Zealand Mr Hill has a passion for sport and outdoor education and is currently a Performance Squad Coach for Reading Hockey Club
