elebrating the Life of DeMarcus Charles Edwards “Poohnie” DeMarcus was born to Henry Eason and C Debra Edwards-Eason in Houston, Texas on April 11, 1982.

DeMarcus attended Hastings High School, where he received a certificate in Designing Woodshop. He later received a certificate of High School completion online.

DeMarcus was baptized as a young child and attended the Holman Street Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Shepherd Teacher Rev. Manson B. Johnson II and the current leadership of Pastor Rev. Murray Martin.

DeMarcus worked as a Dock Coordinator for several years at Niagara Bottling LLC. He was recently employed as a Forklift Operator at Rooms-To-Go. DeMarcus will forever be treasured by his loving family and friends, parents Henry Eason and Debra Edwards-Eason, his three children, daughters Semiya and Demariah Edwards, and only son Llegend Edwards. Three siblings; two brothers, Alshawntus Edwards, wife (Maricela), Aljuawhon Edwards, wife (LaVonsha), and only sister Porcia Edwards, husband (Tyrell). Closely related siblings Brittney Whitten and Randall Pipkin. His Loving nephews and niece, Jaydin Jones, Treylon Earls, Uzziah Edwards, and Vivianna Edwards. A host of devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

DeMarcus, affectionately known as “Poohnie” by his family and friends was loved for his big smile and kind heart. He was protective of those he loved, and he always enjoyed a good laugh. He was confident, laid back, and enjoyed spending time with his family. No family gathering was complete without Poohnie’s big smile. He loved movies, shopping, playing video games, good food, and having fun. DeMarcus loved hard and cared deeply about his children, family, and close friends. DeMarcus will forever be treasured in our hearts and greatly missed but never forgotten.

Dear Baby Bro Poohnie, We’ve been together the whole ride since birth, and it’s hard to believe that you are gone right now.

I’m so hurt! I wish you were still here. We were three years apart, but when we were kids, the age difference never kept us separated. We were always together! As kids, we played together and always got along. My brother was a fly cool dude man, and a super sneakerhead. He had some of the most exclusive shoes that one could ever find, and would always put together an outfit that would match to a tee! Also, I can’t forget how baby bro always smelled good! He had an assortment of some of the top fragrances of cologne. You were just a cool brother with major swagger lil bro. Everyone was fond of you because of your loyalty and friendship. Your kids are crazy about their daddy! I just miss you, baby bro, I miss your beautiful smile. I will forever keep you close to my heart until God calls me home for us to meet again.

Love you, Alshawntus Edwards My Lil Bro, God looked around his garden and found an empty place He then looked down upon the Earth and saw your tired face He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest With the help of his angels, they flew you to your heavenly place God’s garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best He knew you were suffering, he knew you were in pain He knew that you would never get well on Earth again He saw the road was getting rough and the hills too hard to climb He closed your weary eyelids, and whispered “Peace be Thine” It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone For part of us went with you the day God called you home.

Big Brother AL My big bro...always my protector since the day I was born. Always by my side no matter if I was right or if I was wrong lol! When we were younger we were always fighting. I now look back and see how annoying I was lol! Poor you...I feel like I was the bully! Nevertheless, I was always little sis! We could fight but NOBODY ELSE better EVER put their hands on me! So many wonderful memories I pray I never lose. I will always try and live in those moments when thinking of you. You were always the big brother that friends liked with the big pretty smile and the beautiful hair! Oh, that HAIR lol! Not to mention, you were always going to have on a nice outfit and some fly kicks lol (mainly Jordan’s)! Underneath it all, you were just a big, sweet, teddy bear! We’d talk about our Marvel Movies, laugh about our childhood, and have deep, awkward conversations about life. No matter what it was, you were there. Always there for my boys being the supportive Uncle! My sons and I deeply love and appreciate you. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do to have you back! My heart aches so bad it’s hard to sleep. I haven’t rested well since this awful day. I don’t want to think of life without you yet forced to. The family gatherings will never be the same. I swear a piece of my heart is gone I will never get back. I love you, big brother! You will always live on in our hearts. I told myself as I was writing this, that this wasn’t goodbye...it is simply a text. A text that you and I often shared. Only this time, I will have to wait reluctantly to receive my reply.
