PRESIDENT’S GREETING Greetings Brothers and Guests: On behalf of the Executive Board and the entire brotherhood of the Beta Nu Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., it is my honor and privilege to welcome you to this year’s Miss Black and Gold Scholarship Pageant. We are extremely privileged to host this event each year not only to celebrate the beauty and resilience of womanhood but to expand our reach through scholarships and educational enrichment activities at Florida A & M University. Tonight is just a glimpse into what we do in the Tallahassee community and how we use our resources to enhance the lives of communities, families, and youth. Our continued commitment to scholarship, education, and leadership through service is a major part of our mission. As such we are always prepared to take charge in our community. We understand that success can only be accomplished through guidance, modeling, and consistent support of our young people and their families. We recognize that there is so much to be done in the community and that we must take the lead and pave the way for future leaders and scholars. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. has remained a leader in the cause for manly deeds, scholarship, and love for all mankind. We continue to assist those less fortunate and to encourage those with the brightest minds to reach greater heights in their social, academic, and professional endeavors. The Pageant Committee has planned a very special evening for us all to enjoy and to reflect upon in the days and months to come. THE 2021-2022 MISS BLACK AND GOLD ROYAL COURT
Throughout history, the essence of a queen’s crown has led to extraordinary contributions to society from inspiration and empowerment. Looking up to the beautiful women who were crowned Miss Black & Gold before me, I wanted to ensure that I fulfilled the legacy that was passed onto me. With God’s power, I was able to overcome adversity, learn how to lean on others, and achieve my purpose while upholding the title of the 2021-2022 Miss Black & Gold. I would like to give a sincere thank you to the Beta Nu Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated for giving me the platform to enhance my skills of being a leader, role model, andservant of all. During my time working with you all, I’ve made sure to do everything knowing that I am representing something truly bigger than myself. I’m elated to know that I will still be able to represent the chapter in a new light as Miss Black for the Florida Federation of Alpha Chapters. To my court sisters, thank you all for helping me grow and implement the standard that we all wanted to see. I’m grateful that I was allowed to serve my reign with such exceptional women. An additional, special, thank you to the 2021 and 2022 pageant parents for dedicating time to the development of multiple young ladies. You all are the best!! Looking back at all the memories made, it is a bittersweet feeling for me to pass on my reign to the next queen. However, I have high hopes that she will have an amazing reign. To the entire 2022-2023 Beta Nu Royal Court, I cannot wait for you all to participate in an unforgettable experience. As queens, be sure to advocate for yourself and those you support with courage, respect, dignity, and tenacity. To everyone reading this, I would like to leave you with my life philosophy, “Through living life without fear and letting ambition carry you, anything can be conquered. However, know that it is important to use your learning and success to pour into those who need it most.”

To the Lovely Queens of the Horusian Destiny: You have finally made it! Tonight is the night that you’ll show your family, friends, and peers all of the hard work you have put in over the past few months. From the time you all showed up to the pageant interest meeting to the final curtain call, you all have given everything and more to make this pageant a huge success. Everyone from near and far has come to watch you all grace the Lee Hall stage with your grace, beauty, and taleant, but that will never come close to the relationships we have all built. From the late night practices to the impromptu social gatherings, you all have made this one of my most memorable experiences to date.
