The Angel Kantardzhiev Residence is one of the greatest treasures of Bulgarian modernism. Designed in 1932 by renowned architects Ivan Vasilyov and Dimitar Tsolov, the house stands out with its gracefully curved facade, elegant columns and flat roof – hallmark elements of modernist architecture. Over the years, the building has undergone numerous transformations, affecting both its functionality and exterior appearance. Today, it has been expertly restored, preserving its original charm while adapting to modern needs. Nestled discreetly in the heart of the capital city, it remains somewhat hidden in an inner courtyard at 25A Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd, in close proximity to Sofia University and Eagles’ Bridge.
