Sometime in your life, you’ll need surgery. Most of us will. Having confidence in our surgeon, and scheduling surgery close to home with experienced, reputable doctors are important. The board-certified surgeons of Carolina Surgery & Cancer Center receive referrals from doctors who respect their knowledge and expertise in the full range of general surgery, including the breast, oncology surgery, minimally invasive advanced laparoscopic surgery to treat problems such as appendectomy, hernia, benign and malignant lung and colon disease, colonoscopy and EGD procedures, GERD, laser treatment of varicose vein reflux, gallbladder disease, and splenectomy. Traveling to Duke, Wake Forest, Charlotte, or Chapel Hill isn’t required for state-of-the-art advanced care—it’s right here in Greater Hickory Metro.
SKILLED SURGEONS, CARING HEARTS
Dr. Todd Fridley is the newest addition to Carolina Surgery and Cancer Center’s team of surgeons. “I work hard to earn the trust that my title prescribes,” said Dr. Fridley. “My training has given me surgical skills across the full range of general surgery—I’m the guy who doesn’t do just one thing. I perform complex procedures and more common treatments.” Partners Dr. Susan Pabst and Dr. Bryan McCluer are pleased to welcome Dr. Fridley after an extensive search to add a provider to their practice with a compatible work ethic, dedication to excellence, and community vision.
“I come from a small town in Allegheny County where I was the only show in town. I knew everyone, and they knew me. I felt a responsibility to take care of my neighbors and friends,” Dr. Fridley continued. “The idea of healing and improving the quality of someone’s life—perhaps extending their life—I don’t take that lightly. That’s what I love about this work.”
Dr. Fridley’s wife, Heather, is an elementary school teacher ready to go back after time off with her children. “Oliver is three, and he’s into cars, tractors, and mud puddles. And Beckett is almost two. He loves his brother and Buzz Light Year, about equally. Our first-born, boxer/beagle Maverick, loves the kids," Dr. Fridley shared. "We're loving this community."
All three doctors are dedicated to helping people at the most basic level—creating better health.

Dr. Todd Fridley is the latest addition to the surgical team and is shown following up with a patient.
