The Objective: Students will create a redesign of a room at the Center for Sustainable Living on Kenosha’s campus using sustainable philosophy.
• All items, materials, and finishes must be green, up-cycled, recycled, or repurposed.
Selections: □ Flooring □ Furniture □ Window Treatments □ Artwork □ Accessories
□ Lighting □ Purpose of closets □ Paint and Wall Finishes
● The focal point of the room is the accent wall, which is painted Redend Point by Sherwin Williams. The remaining walls are High Reflective White Paint, also by Sherwin Williams.
The romantic bedroom is designed to evoke a feeling of warmth and intimacy, providing a comfortable and luxurious space for rest and relaxation. The focal point of the room (along with the wall) is the elegant white canopy bed, draped with sheer and flowing fabric that creates a soft and dreamy atmosphere. The canopy bed is adorned with plush pillows and comfortable bedding, offering a cozy retreat for sleeping or lounging.
The double closet in the room features a dresser, providing ample storage space for clothes and accessories, while also serving as a decorative feature. The closet is accented with plants and decorations, adding a touch of natural beauty and visual interest to the space.
The vanity area in the room features a comfortable stool and a vintage looking mirror, creating a cozy corner for getting ready in the morning or before a night out. The vanity area is also decorated with plants and decorations, creating a harmonious and inviting ambiance. The room's overall color scheme is warm and inviting, featuring muted shades of pink, beige, and cream. Soft lighting fixtures such as chandeliers, floor lamps, and accent candles provide a warm and comforting glow to the room, while also creating a romantic and intimate atmosphere.
To complete the romantic bedroom design, attention is paid to the details, such as the choice of bedding, curtains, and wall art. The result is a space that exudes elegance, luxury, and romance, creating an ideal haven for relaxation and intimacy.
This canopy bed frame would be painted white and dressed with sheer cloth for the elegant and romantic vibe of the room.
This bench for the end of the bed is a calming blue, with velvet fabric to add a luxury feel to the space and maximum comfort.
This antique wood vanity and metal stool are suitable for this space because of the romantic touch it adds. The vanity would be sanded and painted white to match the rest of the furniture in the space.
The floor lamp we selected adds interest to the eye as it has a fun shape to it, and draws light to the middle of the space.
The Area rug that we chose, adds contrast to the room and strays away from the main color theme while also staying inside of the aesthetic of the environment that we created.
