Shiva Aghababaei

With over 25 years’ experience in the design sector, Shiva Aghababaei is an architect involved in design and construction of large-scale projects, especially in the field of tourism and hospitality. By following her desire to have a career that was influential and creative, Shiva Aghababaei gained an M.A. in Architecture from the Art University of Iran which lead to the founding of Tarh Va Afarinesh Architectural and Engineering Consultants Company, in 1998. Her approach to architecture is a combination of love, perfection, and creation; and these three principles are reflected in the name “Tarh Va Afarinesh” which means “Design and Creation”. The design team at Tarh Va Afarinesh are driven by the belief that the quality of people’s surroundings have a direct effect on the quality of life. They believe that design should embrace all aspects, ranging from the functional performance of a building to a concern for its physical and cultural context as well as its aesthetics properties.

What projects are you currently working on/have recently completed? We are currently working on a residential project and two hotel projects at the same time. Meanwhile, considering the current economic circumstances, we have been appointed by a client to review functions included in a previous project – consisting of retail, office, and hotel occupancies – to reduce share of retail and hotel occupancies and add it on the office occupancy.
