Spartanburg County Parks 50+ Program Summerville Home Run Derby
After a 14-month COVID-19 hiatus, the Spartanburg County Parks 50+ Program is back up and running. The seniors had been anxiously awaiting their return and they’re thrilled to be able to meet again!

Aiken’s Pitch, Hit, & Run Event

Aiken County Parks, Recreation & Tourism hosted a local Pitch, Hit, & Run event sponsored by Major League Baseball on Saturday, May 8. Participants (boys & girls) from 7-14 years of age competed in Pitching, Hitting, and running events. The Town of Summerville Parks and Recreation hosted its second Annual Home Run Derby on Friday, June 11th, in honor of last year’s season being cut short. This year’s event had ten participants from four different high school committed to play baseball at the following schools; Duke University, University of South Carolina, Coker University, and Newberry College. The players all compete for the title of Home Run Derby Champion.


Kickball Fundamentals in Charleston
Unified athletes, along with City of Charleston Therapeutic Recreation staff and Citadel cadets from the Citadel’s Krause Center for Leadership & Ethics, are teaming up on Tuesday evenings this summer to learn the rules and fundamentals of kickball on City of Charleston’s Miracle League field.
