New Look – NZ Hepatology Nurses Group
The NZNO Gastroenterology Nurses College Hepatology Nurses Group is proud and pleased to share our new logo.
The koru shape is an acknowledgement of being part of the wider NZ Nursing Group.
The shape in the middle of the bow is the shape of the liver. Green is the colour of awareness, advocacy, and education concerning liver disease.
The Māori translation is Rōpu meaning group and Tāpuhi meaning nurse, or to tend in sickness or distress.
The group acknowledges it has taken a long time to get established however, it is good to finally have an identity within the Gastroenterology Nurses College.
Over the past 18 months we have been developing New Zealand based guidelines for nurses who work with people affected by liver disease. It is hoped that when we are able to travel and meet without restrictions in the future, members of the Hepatology Nurses Group will be able to review and contribute to these guidelines that will guide our practice as hepatology nursing in Aotearoa New Zealand continues to develop and evolve.
