CORPORATE IDENTITY

PACKAGING Aim: To create packaging for an energy drink.

Solution: Using the concept of energy because of the drink’s name, I designed the can to look like a battery.

STATIONERY SET Aim: Design a co-ordinating stationery set using a complementary colour palette.

Solution: I chose to use orange and blue, giving a fun and confident look at the same time.

MAGAZINE Aim: To create a logo, masthead and feature article for Inside, a family magazine.

Solution: Clean, classic layouts, perfect for the target audience.

MAGAZINE Aim: To create two magazine spreads for inside, one about food and the other about overworking. (Overworking article was done within a set, limited amount of time.)

Solution: the layout, typography and graphics make the articles appealing and easy to read.

CD DESIGN Aim: Design a CD jacket and accompanying booklet and CD for hidden beauty, a CD of relaxation and meditation music.

Solution 1: I focused on the word ‘glimpse’ with the small window, and added a vase of pink flowers to give it life.

MENU DESIGN Aim: Design a menu for a cafe aimed at youngsters and young families.

Solution: I decided to use an ice cream theme, giving the menu a young and fun feel to it. It is appealing and easy to read.

ADVERTISING Aim: Combine pictures of different foods and create an advert for a certain product, only using adobe Photoshop.

Solution: I designed an advert for jaffa oranges. To market these Israeli oranges, I used a famous saying about Israel and combined coconuts and milk, dates and honey, and oranges into one image.

Aim: Design a menu for an upper-class Italian restaurant.

Solution: I designed the menu as an a4 landscape book, allowing for plenty of white space around the text, giving it an elegant and classy look. I used pictures of Venice to illustrate each section of the menu.

ADVERTISING

Aim: Design a series of adverts for yishi, a country vacation home.

Solution: I focused on the fact that Yishi is conveniently located very close to the city, yet offers the beauty and relaxation of the countryside. The various slogans and images I used give over this message in an inviting way.

ADVERTISING These are two adverts that were real jobs.

Orah advert: I used Orah’s colours, purple and green and created a collage of different foods for the background image, following the theme of the lecture.

Hall advert: I used images of the hall set up in various ways, having the nicest one as the main background image to draw people’s attention.

GAME BOX

Aim: design a game box, game pieces and a game mascot only using adobe illustrator.

Solution: I created a game, travel sense, and game cards to go with it. The game pieces are ‘heads’ of different characters and the game mascot is the walking-talking-travelling suitcase, who will appear on the game cards as well.

WORD ART Aim: write the word in a way that describes itself using mainly typography, conveying a deeper understanding of the word.

BROCHURE Aim: Design a brochure for Hotspot, a travel agency.

Solution: I used pictures of famous landmarks taken at unusual angles, giving a new twist and added interest to a familiar picture. The brochure is divided into sections, with clear titles at the top of the page.

FONTS EXERCISE Aim: Create a variety of black and white repeat patterns using one or two letters, as promotional cards for letraset font company.

Solution: Focus on the letters’ shape rather than the fact that they’re readable.

These patterns were created by repeating then overlapping/flipping/rotating the letters of a variety of fonts.
