Mr. London goes to London
By Joanne Winer Elmer London, longtime resident of Quartzite, was surprised when he got word that he was invited to go to London, England for a very special celebration of the veterans from WWII who served in England. On May 8, 1945, Nazi Germany surrendered to the Allies, and this was the 70th year since that day. Elmer was one of many veterans from all around the world who came to England to join in the commemoration of this day of Victory in Europe (VE). His grandson Matt, who now resides in London, England, went with Elmer to the events as an escort, and their days were filled with all kinds of exciting things. SEE LONDON PAGE 10
