Hard to believe half the year has already gone by. The market remains steady and almost a mirror of the first 6 months of 2017. So far the first 6 months of 2018 we’ve had 64 sales compared to 59 sales in 2017. In 2018 we’ve had 55 million in properties close and in 2017 we had 49 million in properties close over the first 6 months. Prices have remained relatively flat with a slight gain of 1.4% for 2018. The geographic boundaries for these statistics are Sweetwater south to Mountain View and 64th Street West to 52nd Street. The past 4 weeks I’ve had a big spike in closings and seeing demand for some of the higher end properties with closings of $2,500,000, $3,350,000, and just closed another one in gated La Camarilla for $1,080,000 that lasted all of 8 days. If you are thinking of selling your Luxury Home summer of 2018 is one of the busiest I’ve seen in my 29 years, so give me call. At the corner of 60th Street and Saint Andrews Way you may have noticed a house that was recently torn down. Make way for a new spec home of 7200 square feet priced at $2,850,000 as 60th Street continues to evolve into a very desired and beautiful location. I’ve always made it a habit to hand deliver my closing gifts to my international sellers who move away from Arizona to another country, below is a letter from my recent closing on June 15, 2018 where I spent 1 day in Australia to say thank-you to my client. There is service, and then there is over the top...... We were introduced to Kelly McLain in 2011. Since that time we have bought a home, leased out homes and now sold a home with his support. Kelly has been so professional and knowledgeable, we have gladly referred him to several friends. The latest project we tagged him with was a challenging one. We recently asked Kelly to sell our home in Scottsdale. Kelly offered spot-on advisement in regards to pricing and market value that brought us to a close. There were several surprises that arose during the close. We experienced an unexpected electrical issue the night before the inspection. The buyer was flying in from out of state so we couldn’t just simply reschedule the inspection. Kelly waited at our house until 9:00 pm for APS to come out and fix the issue. We also experienced two different major zoning issues. Our home sat on the border of Scottsdale and Phoenix. One city’s interpretation of the zoning ordinance differed from the other. This left Kelly going back and forth between the City of Scottsdale and the City of Phoenix to finally get the sign-off on the zoning issues. While all of those things were great and well above and beyond the expectations for customer service, it is the next bit that is really a demonstration of Kelly commitment to his clients. Kelly let me know that he wanted to plan a time to stop by to deliver a closing gift and to take my wife and me out for lunch. While this may be something that other agents do, how many of them would be willing to travel to Sydney, Australia to do this? Kelly was on the ground in Sydney for less than 24 hours before flying back home with his mission accomplished. We took Kelly to a very trendy and popular restaurant that sits right on Coogee Beach. We were able to have a great lunch and just enjoy great company among one of the most amazing backdrops in Australia. The greatest moments during his visit were the reactions that we got as we talked to the servers at the restaurant and they learned that Kelly was here for less than a day. Nobody flies for 20+ hours, stays for less than a day, and then heads back to the airport. We have always valued Kelly’s services, but this really topped off the already spectacular service that he offers. Now the question is when we sell our next house in Phoenix will he put himself through this pain and suffering again? Knowing Kelly and his commitment to excellence, he will be back again. Kelly, next time bring your wife and stay a while. We would love to host you.
