Mirabel Property update I learned early on in my career that it is much easier to sell something if you are passionate about the product or service. I think most people who know me would agree that I am passionate about all things Mirabel. Heck, my license plate says Mirabel as does the name of my company. One silver lining to this whole Covid-19 virus situation is, my belief in and passion for Mirabel has never been stronger.

Every day I see members and residents performing random acts of kindness for each other as we all hunker down to defeat this invisible enemy. I have spoken on numerous occasions with my more senior friends in Mirabel and they have been blown away by the outpouring of support they have received. One resident with some health problems told me that he received a homemade gourmet dinner from another resident he had never met. It brought a tear to my eye.

And watching Marcie and her team adapt almost daily to a constantly changing set of challenges and circumstances, all the while striving to provide the best Mirabel experience possible under the circumstances has been truly inspiring. And they do it all with big smiles on their faces.

It goes without saying that this interruption in our lives will have lasting impacts on our society as a whole. But I choose to believe that many good things will come out of this, as the American spirit rises up to defeat this epidemic. Real Estate will go on and properties will still be bought and sold. It just might take a bit of a break as we await the lockdown to start to ease.

Even with everything going on, there are two homes currently in escrow in the Mirabel Club and another home closed escrow recently. The phone continues to ring and internet leads are coming in at a steady pace as people plan for their lives after Covid-19. California has emerged as our biggest feeder market as people on the coast look for less crowds, lower taxes and a more affordable cost of living.

With population growth projected to continue at nearly the fastest pace in the country, I remain extremely bullish on residential real estate over the coming years in the Valley of the Sun. Marinara sauce

1 tbl

Extra virgin olive oil

Large spaghetti squash

¼ cup

Water

Cloves garlic, finely chopped

DIRECTIONS Cut squash in half lengthwise. Discard seeds. Place squash cut-side-down in large microwave-safe dish. Add water to dish. Microwave on HIGH (100% power) for 12 to 15 minutes or until fork tender (or roast in 450° F oven for 30 to 40 minutes). Let stand in dish for 5 minutes.

Scape squash flesh with a fork or spoon to pull apart the spaghetti-like strands. Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic; cook for 30 seconds or until fragrant. Stir in squash; cook for a couple minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

To serve, top with sauce and cheese. Garnish with fresh basil and oregano, if desired.

new discovery As we all try to occupy our time right now, and stay healthy and active, I wanted to share a new discovery I made recently. After nearly 20 years at Mirabel, I never knew that you are able to access the Maricopa Trail literally ½ mile to the east of Mirabel. The Maricopa Trail is a 315 mile hiking trail that winds throughout Maricopa County. The trail is well maintained and well-marked.

To get there, go out the main entrance of Mirabel and take a right on Cave Creek Road (East). Then take a right on Lone Mountain Parkway and follow it for 1 mile until you get to Joy Ranch Road. Take a left on Joy Ranch, go through the stop sign and the road will dead end right into the trail. There is room for several cars to park there but I have never seen more than 1 car at a time. Most likely you will have the trail to yourself. Enjoy.
