According to newly released estimated reports from the U.S. Census Bureau, Phoenix is the fastest growing city in the country! Welcoming over 25,288 new residents, Arizona’s capital will remain the fifth-largest city in the country, just slightly ahead of Philadelphia’s population of 1,584,138.

Phoenix has changed into a young and vibrant city with an active population.

Arizona and Phoenix have long been top locations for people relocating from other, often colder, parts of the country. With the influx of new people, the residential real estate market around Phoenix also has seen healthy activity, though apartment rents and home prices have surged, putting a strain on the area’s long-standing reputation as an affordable place to live. As apartments rise downtown and around the metro Phoenix area, rents are soaring according to a Rentcafé report. The average monthly rent in Phoenix was $946 in January 2018, jumping $72 to an average of $1,018 this January. Some home builders, however, are starting to pivot toward more affordable options.

DIRECTIONS Slice large tomatoes into thick slices. Cut cherry tomatoes in half. Place tomatoes on large platter.

Slice red onion. Slice avocados. Place onion and avocado slices on platter.

Top with basil and mint. Drizzle lightly with olive oil and seasoning sauce.

Season with pepper.
