SE HA CONCRETADO EL SEGUNDO PUENTE ENTRE PARAGUAY Y BRASIL CON LA PROMESA DE IMPULSO ECONÓMICO Y SOCIAL.

Después de casi 60 años de la inauguración del Puente de la Amistad ya se han unido las últimas piezas del segundo puente sobre el río Paraná que une a las ciudades de Presidente Franco -situada a menos de 10km de CDE- con Foz de Iguazú en Brasil. La obra lleva el simbólico nombre de Puente de la Integración. El nuevo puente será para uso principal de tráfico pesado, mientras que el Puente de la Amistad, por donde circulan 39.000 vehículos por día, será para uso exclusivo del tránsito liviano y turístico, facilitando la circulación vehícular y peatonal en la Triple Frontera. El Puente de la Integración dará nuevo y gran impulso al comercio internacional, la industria y el turismo de la región, fortaleciendo la integración regional y ofreciendo desarrollo socioeconómico a la región de Alto Paraná. Los centros urbanos como Foz de Iguazú (Brasil), Puerto Iguazú (Argentina) y Ciudad del Este (Paraguay) que integran la Triple Frontera son ciudades de funciones político/ administrativas y de servicios para una región transnacional de alto impacto económico. La funcionalidad que aportará el Puente de la Integración incentiva el comercio fronterizo y fortalece los sectores del turismo de compras. Este puente es un símbolo de integración que trae una imagen renovada a la Triple Frontera y fortalece el vínculo cultural entre las naciones hermanas del Mercosur.

The new bridge between Paraguay and Brasil has been completed with a promise of economic and social momentum. Almost 60 years after the inauguration of the Friendship Bridge, the last section of the second bridge over the Paraná River has been completed. This new bridge, symbolically named Bridge of Integration joins the cities of Presidente Franco (located less than 10km from CDE) with Foz de Iguazú in Brazil. The new bridge will be for heavy traffic, while the Friendship Bridge, through which 39,000 vehicles circulate per day, will be for the exclusive use of light and tourist traffic, facilitating vehicular and pedestrian circulation in the Triple Frontier. The Integration Bridge will give new and great impetus to international trade, industry and tourism in the region, strengthening regional integration and offering socioeconomic development to the Alto Paraná region. The urban centers such as Foz de Iguazú (Brazil), Puerto Iguazú (Argentina) and Ciudad del Este (Paraguay) that make up the Triple Frontier are cities with political, administrative and service functions for a transnational region with a high economic impact. The functionality that the Integration Bridge will provide to this region encourages border trade and strengthens the shopping tourism sectors. This bridge is a symbol of integration that brings a renewed image to the Triple Frontier and strengthens the cultural link between the sister nations of Mercosur.
